Portuguese fast food with very good quality food. The chorizo bread was made at the moment (you can see ladies preparing the dough and baking them). The soup is ok, a very common one in Portugal (to try). The dessert is made by rice and cinnamon, also good. In the menu is included as well a drink and a coffe for just 5.95€. Totally worth and I came back again for a second time already.

A Merendeira is a fantastic Lisbon experience! This restaurant serves simple yet delicious food, such as soup and sandwiches, all cooked in a wood oven for an added layer of flavor. The restaurant is open practically 24 hours a day, making it a great option for a late-night snack. Best of all, you can enjoy a meal there for less than €6, making it an affordable option! 😍

This place is basically always open. They serve traditional Portuguese food and most local people visit it after parties and going out. The soup and the bread with the sausages are perfect cure for hangover too. Very tasty, which is not always the case with Portuguese food, unfortunately. Can onlt recommend this place. Also they operate woth very decent prices, 5 euros for a menu (soup, bread and drink included). You can pay by card, and not just with the Portuguese one. The vibe is also very traditional, don't expect anything too fancy. Oh, and they use stone ovens for the bread, bakes locally, always comes warm.

Delicious rice pudding, tasty and rich meal combos for a cheap price. The size of the meal is also very generous. The coffee is served with some small sweet pastry. Customer service is exceptional. One of the best places in Lisbon, will definitely come back

This late-night gathering spot serves as a gathering place for all the hangry kids following a wild night out. There are various menus with filled sandwiches, soups, and drinks ranging from 4 to 7 euros. lovely view from the kitchen. Made the same day, the goods are fresh. a calm area even when packed.

Merendeira saves lives. At 5 AM, when you are drunk, disoriented, starving, and everything is closed and McDonald's is packed with 200 people, that is the moment when you pivot around the corner and come to this stalwart joint for a pão de chouriço and caldo verde combo with a side of water (recommended). After this Merendeira antidote you will feel better and might even arrive home sober. Good luck.

Gern wieder...

I've returned here after 15 years, and it was lovely to see it hasn't changed. I love the food here. This place is a staple of Lisbon

Probably one of the best places to eat in Lisbon and so reasonably priced. The carne sandwich was delicious, seasoned well and the bread so fresh. Caldo verde was awesome. I would return again.

One of the best places in Lisbon to eat for a reasonable price and typical, Portuguese home-made food.

It was a magical place. Good to feel local with local price. A gem, the staff was very accommodating. Although during the meal, we had bad experience with the local customer dislike tourist taking picture in the surroundings and gave us a middle finger when i was taking picture of a pigeon resting on the floor which slightly ruined the experience. But food is great, hot sandwich real fresh buns nice soup and really good coffee!

I ate here on November 2023 at 11am There was practically no one at the shop and food was coming out fresh from the traditional ovens. While the reviews say that this is a place for curing a hangover, I don't see why it couldn't be a place to hurt habe a great meal!! The two ladies at the counter were really friendly and were very patient while I chose what I wanted to get and answered some of my questions about the sweets that were available that day. Finally, on food, I ordered the cod bun with caldo Verde and really liked what I ordered! The bun was fresh out of the oven and the cod was well seasoned. I know the meat bun is the most popular thing here but the cod did not disappoint :)

That place is different than rest of the tourist restaurants. We were looking for something local, this is why we decided to eat there. Portions are big for a good price. Bread with chorizo was tasty, soup after adding salt and pepper was ok. Unfortunately staff wasn’t friendly and helpful.

On a budget or want to try a typical Portuguese food (bread with chorizo and green Cabbage soup) instead of Mac food? For just 3,6€ (5€ w/ beer or soft drinks) you can have a nice traditional Portuguese lunch or dinner!

It was the first time that I went there and we popped in quite late after a cycle ride. I had the menu duo for 5 euros with a caldo verde, chorizo filled bread and a small beer. The bread was super tasty and not at all dry and the soup was delicious. There was actually enough chorizo in it, not like some other places. Only 4 starts because the staff wasn't that friendly but I'll definitely come again!

The value for money here is awesome. A sandwich, soup, drink, and dessert for less than 7€. It was more food than I could comfortably eat, and it tasted awesome! Loved it.

This place is a landmark in Lisbon as far as I'm concerned. Back in the day, I used to go there with my friends after our nights out. After many years I went back there recently, and it warmed my heart to find out that not only it still exists, but also that it has the same cozy environment now that it had then. It's such a chilled place to hang after going out and before you head back home. You might find a lot of drunken and annoying people, especially now with all the tourism in the city. So please, don't be one of those people. Go for the food and the coziness of the place, respect the people who work there and the other customers, enjoy the experience and don't be one of those stupid tourists. The menu, which costs 6.5€ includes soup - caldo verde, typically Portuguese - , the famous bread with chouriço, a drink, a dessert and coffee. It all tastes delicious and you really can't beat this price. I can't recommend it enough.

Not great. Nothing was wrong but it just wasn’t good. If you want good food, go somewhere else, if you want cheap, mostly cold food as a late night stack, you could try… but if you don’t want a large bread with a few slices of chorizo in it, cabbage soup, an oddly stringy fish cake, and rice pudding, you’re out of luck because that’s all they serve.

The best mista bread I have ever tasted!!!! Thick layers of cheese and ham. All home made and feels like a sourdough ferment in their bread It’s easy to miss out on this so be on the look out when you are heading to the direction of Time Out market. Go at noon when every bread type is available and freshly baked

This business is a bit out of the tourist way so it's calmer, not that crowded and much cheaper (the lunch set I got was around €6). The staff was nice, as was the food. Excellent place
