So overrated. Apart from the space and the tvs to watch football, all the rest is pretty mediocre. The service is bad and slow, the food is very average. Nothing positive that stands out.

Had such a great experience both times I came here! The staff are so attentive and friendly, the food is great and the decor is awesome. This place was so good I had to take my parents the second time I went so that says enough lol, can’t recommend it enough :)

Very spacious which makes it ideal for large gatherings, but still quiet at least when I was there. Nice modernist layout and decoration. Food and service not exceptional but at a good standard. Reasonable price.

Wir probierten das Bife à império und waren sehr zufrieden. Man muss es mögen. Ansonsten ist es eine coole Location, da das Restaurant in einem ehemaligen Theater ist. Dadurch ist es teilweise relativ laut.

Space is very nostalgic, good vibes. Food is really good, but costly. Small doses overall, but delicious

Great place to go have a meal. It's very authentic and it feels like you in a movie scene. Very enjoyable.

My favorite traditional Lisbon steak house! Installed in an old cinema, with a huge screen for football watching, its really worth visiting !!!

Not a fan of movie posters and Luke warm food. When should a baked apple be cold? Never! Service was excellent

A place with a rich history, boasting beautiful and spacious interiors. The food is delightful, but oh boy, the service! It seemed like the waitstaff had a secret competition to see who could be the least attentive. We were surrounded by a crowd of customers, yet it felt like we were playing an invisible game of hide-and-seek.

Stopped off for a takeaway bite post rock in rio. Easily the best burger i have had. Succulent quality beef, on the rare side so nice a juicy, beautiful garnish and topped with a buttery brioche bun. If you are on a calorie controlled diet perhaps swerve this however if you love quality food - dig in and enjoy

Cozy atmosphere. Everybody can find their own better place as the restaurant is huge. Young couples can hide in the corner, bigger companies can have a table for 10, parents can enjoy their time because of nice playroom for kids. And the food is very good!

Awesome restaurant honestly the best steak I have had in a long time with a sweet toffee like taste to the sauce would definelty recommend a tasting. It took over from an old theatre and has become this cafe restaurant. Make sure to come here atleast once!

I enjoyed my octopus salad. It was delicious and sufficient.😋 The inside is so beautiful, looks like a 1920s art Deco theatre preserved with all its beauty. The ambiance was amazing. The service was good and friendly.

Only watched the Brasil-Croatia game during the 2022 World Cup which was very nice as the place was full if Brasilians, even though Brasil lost. The beers and the Coke was super, also the staff is friendly.

THE EMPIRE IS NO MORE. I went here twice, both at lunch time. I was with my dog so sat outside. Basically, nothing of an empire about it - mediocrity on all levels. The first time I had the salmon with mashed potatoes and broccoli which was OK but nothing special. The second I ordered the sirloin steak, from the Specialities section of the menu, but they were out of it. The Specialities section comprises three items, two steaks, (Sirloin and Tenderloin) and a fish dish, so I ordered the tenderloin steak with potatoes instead and a side salad. I wasn't asked how I wanted the steak cooked and it arrived medium rare, tepid and towards tough. Fortunately my dog enjoyed what I gave him of it. The salad and potatoes were fair. I like Dijon mustard with steak. I tried to get the attention of a waiter to order some, and did get attention... apparently the three other waiters who saw me told MY waiter that I wanted something, but none asked me what I wanted. I was well over half way through my tough, tepid, tenderloin steak before MY waiter appeared and, after I asked for Dijon, brought me yellow mustard. When I repeated that I wanted Dijon mustard he told me they don't have any. There's a supermarket next door and I was tempted to get some for them, but decided just not to go back.

Amazing restaurant, a reference in Lisbon! For me, the best quality/price and the best Steak in Lisbon. I'm a customer since my early age (almost 50 now).

The food was nice, especially octopus. The house white wine could be better, and that papaya sweet is kore of the vanilla cream.

Steaks are ok, but the famous Império sauce tastes like pure cream/butterfat. Could be better seasoned, it is a bit heavy. The papaya cream for dessert tastes like strawberry, couldn't really identify the papaya there. The area inside needs some maintenance incl the bathrooms. The staff is nice and polite.

Came in seeing the look of the restaurant and had good hopes. Ordered the prawns for starter, and the specialty fish as a main. The service initially I thought was good but then my main was rushed out while I had only a few of my prawns eaten, leading to the full table of us having all our starters and mains cluttering the table at the same time. To make it worse one of the waiters came by and began to clear our starters from the table with our food still in it, if we weren't to say I'm not finished we would have lost half of the starter. The fish I ordered had a nice colour on the outside but was partially raw inside and just full of bones. The price did not reflect the product I received. The potatoes that came with the dish were very nice however. All in all after getting home from the restaurant I began to feel sick and spent 15 minutes in the bathroom throwing up. I would not recommend this place as not only is it much more expensive than the alternatives but it's also just not up to par. The food poisoning I received was not worth it.
