When I arrived, the host offered me the option of the 16 self serve wines. But there were no ports, so I asked about the reservation only tastings. 20 minutes later, he served me 4 distinctive ports (18eu), all very different from each other. Customer allowing, he spent time explaining the differences in each type he brought for me to sample and engaging me in what I tasted. A wonderful experience. With the self serve, you can choose from the 1-2.5 euro tastes based on your preferences. There's a range on offer from different regions and different grapes. A fun educational and delicious experience. In the iconic commerce square. A great way to spend the afternoon.

It was an amazing experience. Got to try REGIÃO DEMARCADA DO DOURO, GUADELIM TINTO ALENTEJO, and DOLIUM reserva. I loved the ALENTEJO because it was a smooth dark red. The variety and ambiance provides an authentic tasting experience. Definitely worth. It was around 2 euros a cup.

If you’re new to Portuguese wine or just want a crash course this is a perfect place to start. It can be light on guidance, but descriptions and tasting notes will help guide selection. Get a card, and taste as much of Portuguese wine as possible.

Cool concept that allows you to try various regional wines. The quality of the wines varied fairly significantly. Service was great. Not a lot of wine to actually purchase and take away.

Have done a lot of winery tours usually at the winery itself. Not so easy in Lisbon as there are no tour operators geared up for this kind of thing. We went to Wines of Portugal not knowing what to expect and were very happy we did. The sommelier, Carol, was excellent explaining the differences in Portuguese wine and blending etc. Very enjoyable and a must if you like a vino and learning a bit about the local culture.

I recommended asking for a €4 glass of wine of your choice (Red/White and the region) rather than faffing with the sample machines that supply 50ml of a few wines for between €2 and €3.50. Apparently sometimes there are tastings and explanations but we missed those.

There is no information online that the tastings need to be booked and at what hours they take places. Half of self service machines are out of order. The wines are good.

Wines of Portugal was AWESOME. Had my bachelorette here on Friday August 18th and they accommodated 18 of us, gave us tastings, and our sommelier was excellent! Highly recommended. Tastings were VERY affordable too. Will be back.

Innovative idea to have self service. Good selection of wines. Would have been good to have more descriptions of the wines. A fun time

Good wine -poor hosts. Read about this book in Rick Steve's book. They have about 40 wines you can sample. They are dispensed via a machine.Cost 1-2 Euros each. But in terms of tasting you are all on your own. Unfortunately the hosts were not helpful even though it was very quiet. I would have appreciated a written description of the bouquet and flavors of each wine we sampled. Thank you very much for your response to my review. Please provide more detail regarding 'thematic'' tastings. What is a ' thematic' tasting and how does one arrange a theme tasting? Thanks for your help.

This was a great place with some of the best wines we've had in Europe. Go for a glass of wines vs the self serve. Also if both of you get 2 glasses the 3rd is free. Perfect way to slow down and relax on vacation. Staff is very friendly and helpful in choosing wines.

A ton of fun right near the water in the old part of Lisbon! An easy and relatively inexpensive way to discover which Portuguese wines you like best. Will certainly return on my next visit to Lisbon — January, 2023. Cheers!

(Translated by Google) In the heart of Lisbon is this excellent Portuguese wine tasting place. A perfect formula for, for a small fee, to enter the wine culture of the country, tasting wines of any DO. If you like wine it is a must see! (Original) En pleno centro de Lisboa se encuentra este excelente local de cata de vinos portugueses. I am not a wine expert but I loved this place. You can get a few bucks and try out several different wines. They do not try to oversell you.

Probably a nice place, unfortunately they often close early than published due to private events at 16h30. So it was impossible for us to taste some wine there during the whole stay in Lisbon - sad.

Great wine tasting experience. You get a card which you can deposit money on for wine. Each wine has a small description with information about the wine and region. Prices range from 1 to 5 euros per 5cl. If you you want there are also guided tastings they also offer them twice a day. Excellent if you want to try the wines from each region of Portugal!

  • 5/5 J M. 4 years ago on Google
Great place to try several different types of wines from regions all over the country. This is a "self service" place where you purchase a charge card. You preload the card with as much money as you would like. This card will be used to dispense a wine sample -- each wine sample will range from €1 to €5.

Beautiful room, about 15 wines available ( at inflated prices). Staff we met were friendly and knew nothing " You can buy a card and pick a wine" . Gee, thanks! Probably someone's relative in need of a job who drinks coke with dinner. Wasted opportunity for their wine trade. A similar facility in Evora is much better run.

What a wonderful experience learning about wines of Portugal. Beatrice led our wine tasting session and she was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about her subject. We were able to compare the different regions and types of wine and came away with a new perspective of Portuguese wines. Incredibly good value, charming staff and a must on a Lisbon itinerary.

Fun spot. They have WiFi and what I call wine vending machines. The staff was super helpful when I needed a refund on a pour of a bottle what was out. If you are in the area it’s a great way to try small portions of several wines from all over Portugal at your own pace.

Great experience. Great explanations during the tasting from our guide. It was not rushed and serving sizes were great value. Additional tasting was affordable from the machines. Toilets were clean.

Really great tasting experience and it was super informative. The only issue is that they do not allow walk ins and their online booking system is quite confusing.

  • 4/5 Joseph L. 1 year ago on Google
Place was nice and fun. You put money on a card (min 5€ plus 2€ deposit) and try what ever in the dispensers. My wife and I put 20€ on a card and tried 10-12 different wines. Some where good, some weren’t. The display cards weren’t very informative on the types of wine. Free Wi-Fi. A nice place to sit and take a break.

Tried three times in a 7 day period to visit Wines of Portugal and each time was closed for private functions. For a business in such a busy tourist location this is not acceptable and I would suggest you don’t make a special trip for the risk of being disappointed as we were.

  • 4/5 Loren S. 11 months ago on Google
Didn't have any food here (not sure they even do food?). Great idea and definitely worth doing. Not too expensive. Love that you don't have to follow a class and can go in whenever. Annoying only two of the large machines were working so slightly limited to selection (probably like 10-20 wines) but still nice. The card you are given can sometimes be complicated but the staff are really good at helping out.

Sensational concept, an initiative of Lisbon and private enterprise. Quality wines representative of all regions of Portugal, load a card with € and sample the wine from automatic dispensers. 1€ refund on the card - brilliant

(Translated by Google) In the spring we took part in the tasting of Portuguese wine. We loved that the place is on the main square in Lisbon. Add an interesting interior, original vault and lots of bottles of wine arranged in a fancy way. We were offered 6 different bottles of wine - 4 red and 2 white. We also got crackers to neutralize the taste before each tasting. The show was led by a man and a woman in English. They talked about the flavors and individual wine regions of the country very interestingly. In addition, we got a map divided into regions and practical tips on which wines are best brought to Poland. Zaproponowano nam 6 różnych butelek wina - 4 czerwone i 2 białe.
