    In my opinion this hospital needs to get closed. We came with our daughter and she had an infected and hot foot and could not walk anymore. The nurse told us that they cannot help cause we had no passport and sent us away. We told her that we were just on a day trip and that our house with the passport is 70 miles away. We showed our IDs and told them to pay cash, but they told us that their boss says " no". This boss was too cowardly to come out and discuss with us and so the poor girls at the reception just talked to us. A hospital with this kind of management and what sends sick children away is in my eyes a shame for the beautiful town of Lisbon and the nice people.

    This is the most expensive hospital I ever had. Not only the payment, every time I went there, you always need to wait for 1 and half hours more than your actual appointment time. Now I already paid more than 1500 EUR, but still no results from the hospital. NOT RECOMMEND IT! If you want to waste your money, then you can go.

    Super long waiting times despite appointments - almost every time. Staff is nice. Building is new and clean. No real help at the moment when I needed an urgent appointment.

    Very bad service. Went for a dental appointment, ended up having surgery for the price of 200€. Only a year later the clinic bothers to tell me this surgery is not covered by any insurance lol. Is this plastic surgery perhaps? Had the same surgery for 65€ in another private clinic in Lisbon. Covered by my insurance. Watch out for what you pay! Absolutely unbelievable.

    One of the worst clinics i have visited abroad concerning the quality of the doctors. Old doctors without any willingness to assist in detail a patient. Both the departments of dermatology and gynecology are extremelly poor in doctors. It is very hard to book an appointment with a good doctor and you have to wait for an examination for 2 months. Do not recommend.

    Appointment at 15:30 Waited till 18:00, then our number came up just to go in and find out doctor isnt available. Receptionists being rude and not helping. Avoid this hospital :-)

    Unbelievable that this is a private hospital. I have experienced better facilities and waiting times in 3rd world countries. After paying 113€ we waited 5 hours. They seem to have only 2 doctors on duty.

    I was always treated with the utmost friendliness; the doctors tried very hard to explain everything and make it understandable. The operation was professional and the care afterwards was competent, warm and holistic. I was surrounded only by warm and friendly people. The room facilities were excellent.

    I will start this off by saying I'm not from Portugal, nor do I speak Portuguese. I've been a ER Nurse for 8 years and was frightened to have to engage with a healthcare system I wasn't familiar with in a country where I don't speak the language.... The staff at CUF were amazing. I had to go to 2 CUF locations: this one and the one near Belém. They had some staff that at least spoke enough English that we could communicate, they were kind and very friendly and caring. I ended up needing day surgery at Descobertas and they were all so friendly and compassionate. The Doctor, nurses and support staff made me feel at ease. I would HIGHLY recommend CUF (a private hospital) if you ever need that level of care. Even the prices seemed very reasonable as I had 3rd party insurance I had to pay out of pocket, which coming from America can bankrupt you. You'll be in good hands if you come to CUF.

    I’ve been waiting for almost 3 weeks for an MRI report. I have gone up to the hospital to request it, I have checked MyCUF every day, and I have emailed multiple times. This is ridiculous. I need this report for a surgical procedure! I’ve told them this many times. It’s semi-urgent because I AM in pain but they do not care and take even longer. If this was a true emergency, I’d be dead. I’d hate to have to go to the emergency room there. I don’t know what to do anymore.

    I often come here for my doctors appointment but the receptionists there are mostly in need of lots of training in terms of customer service. No any filter to show you they do not welcome any foreigners or they will express extreme rudeness to you if you don't speak Portuguese. It's a shame that the doctors and nurses works hard here but it doesn't show it at the front desk. In my opinion if you don't welcome foreigners in your country to use private health care services, everything should be automated.

    Simply disgusting quality of service from the administration. I give them one star! Alternatively, the hospital management enter the kpi for their work. The more people you serve, the more your salary will be, because it’s unbearable, they do everything they want, just not their work.

    Happened during the night: I was sent from CUF Torres Vedras to CUF Lisbon as it was urgent to see a plastic sergeant to have a look at a deep wound at the ankle. Literally I was waiting for 4 hours and nothing happened. Being sent from one room to the other, a doctor said she will come back to check it in a moment but never came back. in the end another doc apologized that they didn’t do anything and I won’t have to pay anything neither but that didn’t help me. They took off my bloody bandage from my ankle and left me without it, I had to ask several times to get a new one so I could finally leave the hospital and come back in the morning when the actual doctor would be able to check. They could have communicated that before. Do not go there during the night.

    AVOID. Terrible so called hospital. I had an operation there in January 2019 and am worse since. The Surgeon misled me with false hopes. The staff are incompetent there also. I made formal complaints in their complaints book months ago and they have not even replied! I emailed them many times too and still no reply. This apparantly is illegal as they must respond. Take my advice... Don't use this BAD hospital. They are con artists there. Cheats.

    Medical team(those that operate you) is very good, yet some of the nurses and the administrators works as if they were fish on land. As examples they did not provide sufficient pain relief and did not assist at all in basic needs. Very bad communication on their behalf and poor followup. For using a private hospital, I have done everything myself, calling and sending emails up to 7-8 times regarding one issue. When they say "we call you", that does not happen

    Very very very bad service. Big lines, not nice staff at all. No opportunity to keep a social distance. And why in 21 century I should come for results for any tests to them? No sending by email. I tried to install their App. But it asked me Portuguese Id picture. Why you work with international clients, but can’t provide them with using App also? I am so disappointed

    The pediatrics emergency triage was attended by a nurse staff who didnt speak any English. The 50+ aged lady was a bit rude in approach with less fluent Portuguese speaker. She treated us in a way where it was a free service even after coughing up 103 Euros for emergency consultation. The staff didnt respond to the queries and she was unprofessional. Initial doctor consultation took 3.5 hours with inefficient queue handling system.

    I'm from a family of physicians. I chose to deliver my 1st baby in this hospital a few days ago. The only reasons why I chose it was because it was the only place in Lisbon where my private doctor works (her main hospital was out of reach for us) and because I wanted some privacy while staying with my husband and with the baby. The best: facilities, customised meals, 24h support from nurses/staff. The worst: overall lack of competence, lack of manners by some of the staff - I was even bullied at the cafeteria -, incompetence in the procedure for creating the baby's ID card. I won't go there for a 2nd baby. There are better choices in the public and private national health systems when we want respect for the patient, reliability and effectiveness.

Very small room without any ventilation in which the possible contaminants occur in the same chair. I thought about giving up because of the risk I was going to take. I would like to know if they meet DGS standards (Original) Fiz hoje teste Covid na Cuf Descobertas e fiquei assustada com as condições de segurança que o Hospital pratica.     For 2 years i visited the hospital to pinpoint what is my diagnosis , 2 doctors diagnosed me with totally different diagnose that effected my health , until i went to DR OUT SIDE OF CUF & he pinpoint the issue from 1st visit & now i am feeling better . Drs in CUF they have no passion or ethical responsibilities to treat people, they are sooo commercial ! They ignored my symptoms that it was a clear indication that i was suffering from chronic inflammation for 2 years . I DONT RECOMMEND CUF !!

    I highly recommend you to use the app “My Cuf”. You can book an appointment with the department you want and even pick the doctor you want according to his language skills. On site is also very well organized. I just removed one star because I have to pay 2 extra euros for a Covid tax. It doesn’t really make sense.

    My child had an ear ache and we came to this location for diagnosis/treatment. The longest we waited was at the check in area, but mostly everything is automated - get a code, wait to be called, give id, pay and wait to go through triage. It took us about 20 minutes between triage, seeing the doctor, getting prescription/discharge. Everyone was very nice and patient with my child who had a bit of a hard time existing symptoms. 100% recommend the pediatric area.

    Lousy medical service, my wife had 4 attempts to draw blood because they couldn't find a vein. The medical service do not speak English! They really don't talk! we used google translate! it's ridiculous.

    Went to the ER with an obvious broken finger. The doctor wasn't able to spot it on the xray. Came back 4 days later to see a specialist. He knew about the fracture but didn't treat it. Instead asked me to keep it still for 4 weeks. It took me 3 weeks to find out that this was the wrong treatment (no treatment!!) As the fracture was complicated and fragile. By then it was too late to be treated. So I am left with a malunion and limited movement for the rest of my life.

    I had a horrifying experience with Manuela Soares. I do not wish to post my personal details here, but this woman should NOT be allowed to see patients. I filed a complaint and the hospital said they “investigated” but didn’t contact me or make any attempts to solve this issue. Better to be safe and go to Luz Hospital.

    Let me start off by saying that I speak little to no Portuguese and recognize that everyone should not be expected to speak english. That being said I have had 10 appointments and a surgery at this hospital and I could not be happier with the level of care, cleanliness, and the staff. Quite a few speak english and if they do not they are patient with using translator apps to communicate or grabbing a co worker to translate. My nurses were attentive, everything went well, and my doctor made sure that I throughly understood the procedure and recovery. They found my vein first try every-time which is no small feat on me. Overall I was delighted with my experience.

    I've been to this hospital 4 times in 6 years and always had a very good experience (as good as it can be while sick or injured). Staff and doctors are friendly, speak English. It's well organized, services are pretty close to each other and we're given good guidance. The service coverage by insurance is excellent, I've gotten out of here with consultation + 4 exams done including multiple X-rays and blood analysis paying only 20€, while clinics charge 70 for a basic consultation. If anything, material seems insufficient: I've seen cleaning staff having to ask doctors for gloves and my doc's computer froze regularly, stalling the consultation ~15 mins.

    As an international traveller I was nervous what the service would be like and the cost. It turned out to be reasonable and I paid upfront but it can be covered by insurance. Was seen by an English speaking doctor in less than 2 hours. I came at 4am and left at 7am. I had a bad cough and was examined and x rayed. Turns out I had a lung infection and was grateful I had tests done and was prescribed with the right medication. Overall had a pleasant experience!

    Poor service and the doctors don’t seem to care about the patient. I went through 6 different psychiatrists in different CUFs and no one seem to care, they just want to get rid of the patient as soon as possible. No empathy at all. It’s crazy how someone does psychiatry and don’t want to help people that really need it.

    I have a very positive impression of the emergency services. As you have, on other occasions I have had an emergency and it is this service that I trust. Waiting times are acceptable and the care provided is always efficient and reassuring. All the doctors and nurses and receptionists I have encountered are extraordinarily competent, humane and kind. When you leave the unit, you are left with the feeling that the most has been done. I thank everyone and wish them all the best personally and professionally.

    Today we received a message about cancelation and rescheduling of our consultation after I had already been downstairs and made an admission. I understand that the doctor may have had some unforseen circumstances, but I'm totally disappointed with the way the hospital handled this situation. Since we already arrived there with the baby, I'd expect them at least to offer a consultation with another pediatrician in that morning but unfortunately, we just wasted our time and will need to wait another two weeks to see the doctor.

    Exam by appointment and even then they are an hour late in being seen. The only part that is EXTREMELY FAST is when paying. When it was time to leave the exam, the queue was an incredible 3 minutes long.

    Permanent pediatric care is terrible. There is nothing urgent about this service. Whenever I come here, the average waiting time exceeds 2 hours, regardless of what it says on the website. Average waiting time between screening and consultation is desperate when the average consultation time does not exceed 10 minutes. Outdated medical procedures without any customer focus.

    The waiting time for obstetrics is ridiculous. For 9 out of 10 appointments I had to wait more than one hour, sometimes even 2 hours. When you have to reschedule the appointment, you have to wait 3 months, this is not even possible when you are pregnant. It would be a major improvement if they could inform us about the actual waiting time (by app or SMS) so you can do something else in the time you have to wait. Writing this while I am waiting again…..

    I made an appointment for a Breast MRI at CUF and they tell me that the doctor who prescribed the exam will have to ask my health insurance for authorization for me to carry out the exam. It is unacceptable for doctors to resolve bureaucratic issues when CUF has the duty and obligation to perform this function as the examination is carried out in these facilities. I will do the MRI in another place where they have greater respect for the doctors' work.

    THE WORST!! They move so slow!!! I am so mad I had deliver my baby here! They gave me the epidural when I was 9 cm!!! By that time It was too late and they shouldn’t have gave it! I felt everything and was so miserable! Once the baby was born they took me to this room and ONLY monitored me! They never took the babies temperature or checked her oxygen the whole 5 days I was there! They said if I was at home how would I check! I’m like what!! Where at the hospital yours supposed to! My baby suffered for 3 days! With breathing! I told them she kept spitting up and needs to get suctioned they told me it’s hair in her mouth! I said she is not a catB wht the hell! She doesn’t have a hair ball! So day another nurse seen what I was talking rushed the baby out the room! Came back 10 min later and said they had to suctioned the baby! I said wow!! Finally someone pay attention and listen to me!! There is not lactation Consultant to help making sure I had enough milk which I didn’t! Because the baby wasn’t urinating or pooping! I told over and over and they finally gave me formula and the baby poop and pee just fine! When it was time to check baby hearing they tell me I had to pay! But if I think baby can hear it’s ok. I told them why do I have to pay if I have insurance a heating test is routine for a new baby! So I finally got home 3 days later I realized they didn’t register the baby! I am from the U.S so I wouldn’t know. So I called and had to go back to the hospital to get the declaration or birth only since I left the hospital originally I couldn’t register her there anymore! I do not recommend this hospital to anyone!!! They are not attentive and irresponsible!! Even nurses told me this hospital is no good!! And a doctor told me he wouldn’t work here after he was offered many requests too!

    Just had the worst consultation experience ever! Doctor Elisete Cortes, the gynecologist, who doesn’t speak English (I was promised she did), treated me in a humiliating and unprofessional way, she didn't explain why I had pain, didn't address any of my concerns until I had to insist with her! She didn't want to give me a prescription for contraceptives although I asked her several times and it's normal practice and also allows you to have a dicsount. Going to a gynecologist is a sensitive matter and I felt terrible after being attended by this horrible woman who treated me as if I was stupid and was grimacing the whole time. Clearly one of the factors was that I am from Eastern Europe and don't speak Portuguese. Would not wish for any woman to be treated in such humiliating way! Can't believe a private hospital hires these doctors and allows such level of emotional incompetence.

    They are too slow for visiting their patients, I had ecography today with previous appointment and I waited near 2 hours waiting for my name to be called. Besides that I would like to add, for getting an appointment for an exam u have to wait 1 to 2 months worse than public hospital. My appointment cancelled because of their computer problems and for giving me another time they did not even make a compensation. They gave me another appointment 1,5 month later.
