Our group had a fantastic trip in Portugal, with Portugal Bikes! The landscape was beautiful, the route was good, and the logistics all worked out smoothly. I would highly recommend using their services. Our hotel stays were generally great, with one exception on the lower end and one fantastic hotel in Sagres. Other than a few battery issues for the e-bikes, our bikes worked well and we had no flats!

My husband and I rode the Portugal Bike Jewels of Portugal self supported tour in September. We loved the rolling country side landscape and smaller towns we stayed in. The hotel locations were great and most had an outdoor pool, although I felt we got some of the worst rooms in the hotels. The luggage transport was flawless. The GPSs with loaded courses made it easy to navigate on your own. We have taken other guided bike trips (e.g. VBT, Backroads), but we liked the flexibility to travel at our own pace vs. the pace of the group. We are sold on self guided trips after this experience. Cristina and Luis took care of booking, pickup/drop off, bike set up and tour overview - you can see why Cristina is still in business after 20 years!

Cycling along the southern coast of Portugal was fantastic. The small towns and beaches we were able to visit were stunning. Everything about this trip was well organized and well planned. The people were very friendly in all places we visited and the food was delicious. We enjoyed meeting others on the trip and sharing the experiences with them. Jose added personal touches which made the entire experience more special. If cycling is something you enjoy, we highly recommend this trip.

We rode the self guided Ancient Medieval Villages tour with Portugal Bike. The tour was very well organized. A thorough explanation was given at the start. The GPS was very easy to follow. Lots of attention to detail. Covid measures were taken, we felt very safe. The scenery was beautiful, even during this dry period of the year. The towns and convents we visited were magnificent. The hybrid bikes we used were of great quality. There are definitely some tough hills to be conquered but the reward of the views are worth it! We can highly recommend Portugal Bike.

We had an amazing experience biking around Northern Portugal. Visiting small villages and biking through some breathtaking scenery. Along the way we stayed at some hotels that were beyond the level of service that we could have imagined in such small places. Because a lot of the people living in the small villages we biked through did not speak English, we became rather good at ordering food and drinks in Portuguese, which was a great way to learn the language. We were given thorough information about the equipment, the route and how to contact them in case we needed to. I would highly recommend Portugal Biked to anyone who would like an active holiday. It is the best way to see an learn about a country and its inhabitants.

My wife and I have completed several self-guided cycling trips in Europe and this past September decided to explore Portugal for the first time. We couldn't have chosen a better company than PortugalBike to provide us with such an unforgettable cycling experience. We chose “The Charming Pousadas in Alentejo” self-guided tour and would recommend it to anyone who prefers a route with stretches of flat terrain mixed with rolling hills and unique ( very "charming") and quiet accommodations with historical significance (e.g. monasteries, castles, etc.). The plentiful and tasty breakfasts at each location provided grains, fruit, meats, and cheeses, etc. and were a good start to our active days. Our evening meals were as equally nutritious and satisfying (enhanced with some pleasant wines from this interior region of Portugal). From start to finish, owners Jose and Christina, provided exceptional service and hospitality. Christina's attentiveness during the trip-planning phase made this "last-minute" trip effortless & stress-free for us. Our pick-up in Lisbon went seamlessly and we appreciated the information Jose shared during the drive to our starting point and during our pre-ride orientation meeting which was thorough and professionally presented. We commend Jose for being so safety-conscious: our routes were primarily on secondary roads and we appreciated the quality of equipment we were provided (e.g. well-maintained, quality road bikes, lights, GPS, and bright, customized cycling shirts, etc.). In addition to benefiting from the daily exercise, we observed and/or learned more about the production of cork, eucalyptus, pine nuts, olives, and marble, etc. during our tour. The tour concluded as seamlessly as it started; our equipment return was convenient and effortless and our return drive to Lisbon was pleasant. PortugalBike provided us a flawless itinerary; their operation is fined-tuned and professional. We are most anxious to return to Portugal to cycle another one of its regions and will definitely choose PortugalBike to organize this trip for us.

Great Bicycling in Alentejo, Portugal with Portugal Bike We enjoyed our first bicycling experience in Portugal with terrific support from Portugal Bike. The scenery was fabulous, accommodations terrific and the support was great. They thought of everything, providing all the guidance we needed, including a pre-programmed Garmin. We traveled on our own tandem, brought from Canada, and we had no problems. The roads were good and Andre, our guide, provided the perfect amount of support. In a few spots it was necessary to travel on fairly busy roads. There was a good shoulder but the non-busy roads were even better! We look forward to an opportunity to travel with Portugal Bike again.

The customer service was top notch with great biking equipment, and an easy GPS system to guide us along the beach, cities, forests, and riversides. We got to see so much of the beautiful country and culture. I can’t say enough positive things about this company and the biking experience we had and I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who wants a fun, biking experience in Portugal!

Had a fantastic time with the Jose and Cristina! The Portugal Bike Team is the best. All I had to do is be able to ride a bike, they took care of the rest. Great places to stay and eat along the way. They do a great job of making the trip a great experience. If you want to see Portugal from a completely different perspective, give them a ring! Clean air, great sites and history lessons. Lets go!

Our bike tour in the Alentejo Region was the highlight of our trip to Portugal. The tour booking was smooth, communication with the tour operator was excellent. The tour highlighted medieval and historic sights and featured visits to a winery and a pottery studio…a great mix of experiences to introduce us to the people and products of Portugal. Our tour guide was passionate about Portugal, very knowledgeable about the region including its food and wines and attentive to our needs. He set up our equipment (carbon fibre bikes with high end gearing) and met us along the way with water, snacks and a picnic lunch…on a marble picnic table no less! The route was lined with trees in blossom, the boughs weighed down with oranges and lemons. April is definitely the perfect time to visit this part of the country and travelling by bike was a delight. It was my first experience of a bike tour and we are already planning to return next year to see a different part of Portugal with Portugal Bike. I would highly recommend them.

We loved our bikes, the Pousadas, and the tour as a whole. It was fun visiting all the tour stops you had planned each day (my favorites were the cork processing plant and seeing the marble).
