Museu da Presidência da República

Museum

👍👍 This museum tax about the history of the different presidential leaders over the past hundred years in Portugal. Shows gifts of state from countries all over the world and lots of portraits of the presidents. There's a video with English subtitles that was very helpful and educational.

For those who want to know more about Portugal since the implementation of the Republic. Provides an educational and friendly visit. A curiosity, the navy lieutenant who gave the order to fire the cruiser's shot, which would start the revolution and lead to the fall of the monarchy, would years later become president of the Republic.

Museu da Presidência da República is a part of Palacio National de Belem where visitors wait before the guided tour into the Palace. You can see here some diplomacy gifts and the history of Portuguese Republic. Price: 5 EUR/3.5 EUR (students) - Museu + Palacio Time spent: 20 min [museum] Languages: English/Portuguese

Museu fraquinho. Podia ser melhor se fossem às reservas.

The traditional changing of the guard beforehand is a small experience.

(Translated by Google) It was necessary for everyone to say that the cost of entry is 2€50 and that the backpacks go through the scanner at the entrance.

(Translated by Google) I could not visit the palace because the president was staying there. So to be able to visit it, you have to be lucky and be there when the president is not staying there.
