Tons of dinosaur bones and fossils. Nice archeological displays, and large selection of gems.

I walked into an impressive hallway, up a grand staircase & was underwhelmed by the €5 entrance fee despite being secretly impressed by the displays in the reception area. The receptionist was amicable, accommodating, informative & pleasant. Then I looked in to the main display area & had to take a breath. My only research before hand was to google map geological interests in Lisbon. I felt like Indiana Jones making a discovery but there was no danger of falling foul of a trap or trick. What a find!. What I thought would take 20 minutes turned into hours, losing track of time investigating the treasures presented. Did I mention underwhelmed?, scrap that. I was amazed. Bamboozled even!. I took a trip through millions of years, touched petrified wood, gazed upon gaseous geodes, fossilised plant matter, ammonites, trilobites & historical associations. An informative guide through evolution & inevitable trials. to chemical, gaseous, chaotic genomic marvels. I'm in Lisbon for 3 more days & I intend to revisit/revise. Cannot recommend enough.

(Translated by Google) Wow wow... No comment!!!! It is the best museum that I have visited so far o.O there is a lot to see and learn, one of the oldest in Portugal, it has a section on minerals, fossils, history, a little bit of everything! 5 euro entry do not have MB warned! Parking is also a bit complicated, the service including the 5-star security guard, I would go back without thinking! (Original) Vaya vaya.... Sin comentarios!!!! Time has stopped here. A million years is not much in this museum. Even the museum itself has not changed much: the museum exhibition is an impressive relic of old museums. A museum of a museum.

Parking location 🅿️ 500 meters away, 50 cents every 15 minutes, they should have a catalog with the map of Portugal and the pieces on display in the museum, for example, a person from Santarém would see on the map which pieces they could see in their locality and which shelf they are on, that would be much more interesting.

Excellent museum focusing on Geology and Archeology of Portugal. It is full of exhibits of fossils and artefacts from all over Portugal, and only €5 entry fee. Please take cash as they don't accept credit cards.

I had a really great time here. Firstly, the gentleman at the reception was extremely polite and kind. The museum itself for an archaeologist like myself was very much appreciated for its thoroughness. I felt like the prehistory section was the highlight. It was very interesting. I do however have a suggestion. I think that more displays should be in English as well as Portuguese as at times I had no idea what was being displayed. However, it has a fantastic collection and is a must to go to.

The building where the museum is located is already historically valuable. The museum houses many interesting finds and is reasonably priced at €5 per ticket for adults.

This museum is closed during the weekend. What the hell? Also Google says it’s open on weekends. Very sad.

An incredible paleontological collection!! Unfortunately it needs to be properly replaced. It should have been with the rest of the natural history museum's collection and the latest dinosaur finds. But it is still a fantastic museum about human evolution in Portugal over the last 30,000 years and an impressive set of fossil records. Very good!

very good museum. A bit heavy on the paleontology side for me, but still a very good museum. Also learned a LOT about the geologic history of Portugal. However, the mineral room was my favorite!

(Translated by Google) The "museum of museums" is not by chance, a collection of stones, animals, evolutionary species confluent in the truly sublime human being. Dinosaur fans will be delighted. Anthropologically it is a relic. It deserves a little more dignity and public investment, perhaps expansion because part of the estate is shelved due to lack of space. Extremely sweet employee. You are the Geological, Anthropological and Jurassic Treasure Museum. It needs to be more publicized and much more visited. If I had to designate an ex libris item, it would be the famous calving stone from Serra da Freita that I really wanted to know. A very pleasant surprise.

Several collections, each one more interesting than the other. Rocks, minerals, paleontology, archeology. Excellent for spending a morning or an afternoon and enjoying a little more knowledge. Dr. José Moita is an excellent speaker and presenter of the most diverse collections. I highly recommend it.

Museum full of traces of time, very well organized. I visited as a fine arts student to practice heritage drawing and there is no shortage of study material :) I will be back and I highly recommend it to anyone who has never visited.

It is abandoned, it literally rains in some rooms, others have leaks and mold. Part of the collection is dusty and dirty. It doesn't have good lighting. They only accept cash, but they can't give change, much less do they accept ATMs or have an ATM nearby. It's a shame this place is in this state.

(Translated by Google) A very interesting and important place to visit but with poor light, no ATM. It seems that we are not even 1 step away from the assembly of the republic. Will Mr. President have you been there? What a sad scene. (Original) Um local muito interessante e importante para visitar mas com uma luz deficiente, sem multibanco. Parece que nem estamos a 1 passo da assembleia da república. Será que o Sr. Presidente já lá foi? Que cena triste.
