Would not recommend. Was a comfy bed and decent location, those are the only positives. Host clearly doesn’t care about the experience on offer, just wants the cash for doing bare minimum. Was made to feel like I’d done something wrong on arrival. Host wanted to be anywhere but there. Not very welcoming at all. My review was also removed from Airbnb (so giving one star less here than my review there). Loud squeak on bedroom door, easy to hear other rooms - so I was likely waking people up going to bathroom at night & going to shower early in the morning. Plenty of other places to stay in Dingle.
Felt more like a halfway house than a hostel. Extremely rude hostess who was very cold and scolded everyone staying there like they were naughty schoolchildren. Tainted my visit to Dingle. Good location and price if you can get over the terrible service. I however, cannot.
Good dorms, but poor facilities (only one toilet for 20+ beds, which doubles as a bathroom so always busy). Terrible welcome & behaviour from the host (eg we were told off for 'late' arrival at 4:30pm, despite sending our ETA ahead of time. Members of our group were also followed into their room and told off rudely for being noisy coming back into the hostel on a Saturday night - the house cracks so much it is impossible to be silent. We were a respectful & quiet group, and were treated like misbehaving children.
Great hostel for the value, clean beds with linen, tidy rooms, toilet paper in bathrooms. Walls yes very thin as others were commenting but safe place to put your head for the night! Helen (owner) was down to earth hostess.
