Visited
yesterday
for
a
works
Christmas
meal
which
I’d
been
looking
forward
to
as
it’s
been
a
long
time.
Menu
choices
were
given
in
advance,
but
not
checked
once
we
were
seated.
Drinks
came
in
fits
and
starts,
had
to
call
the
waiter
over
repeatedly.
Chose
the
gluten
free
onion
soup,
as
did
my
friend
-
both
came
with
bread
sitting
in
it
-
fine
if
you’re
not
coeliac
but
an
absolute
no
no
for
me.
They
took
it
back
and
after
a
while,
an
onion
soup
without
bread
arrived.
Everybody
had
eaten
their
starters
at
this
point.
Tasted
alright
but
could
easily
be
confused
with
a
Bovril
drink
with
onions.
My
soup
bowl
remained
in
front
of
me
until
the
waiter
came
to
ask
if
I
wanted
to
see
the
dessert
menu….
My
main
meal
was
fine,
hence
the
one
star.
Three
other
meals
were
stone
cold.
A
vegan
meal
had
cheese
in
it.
The
incompetence
was
never
ending.
Three
of
us
complained,
and
the
waitress
(
or
was
she
a
manager
of
some
kind?)
had
a
hostile
demeanour
,
and
bartered
with
us
about
reducing
the
price.
Two
meals
were
not
charged
for
,
even
though
three
meals
were
inedible.
The
plentiful
waiting
staff
were
lovely
when
they
managed
to
peel
themselves
away
from
standing
by
the
wall,
but
seemed
very
young
and
inexperienced.
They
nearly
crashed
into
each
other
whilst
laden
with
meals
on
more
than
one
occasion.
At
the
end
of
the
night,
with
a
bill
of
more
than
£250,
we
were
all
still
hungry,
had
hardly
any
drinks
and
were
completely
dissatisfied
and
disappointed.
Food
was
poor
quality,
freezing
cold
,
and
complaints
were
handled
very
badly.
Delays
in
bringing
food
to
the
table
were
inexplicable
when
there
was
so
many
staff
and
a
menu
ordered
in
advance.
Management
needs
a
course
in
leadership.
The
kitchen
needs
an
overhaul
and
the
waiting
staff
need
training.
Restaurants
need
to
deliver
more
than
fancy
baubles.
If
we’d
seen
the
lengthy
list
of
negative
reviews
before
we
booked
we
wouldn’t
have
bothered.
Never
again.
