First time visit to 14 and not disappointed. Fabulous sunny evening matched by views over Liverpool City and The Bay, together with the menu and service provided. Lynn who met and directed us on arrival deserves special mention for her attentive style. Food had a great variety and taste so all in all, it’s one to visit again for us!

Visited yesterday for a works Christmas meal which I’d been looking forward to as it’s been a long time. Menu choices were given in advance, but not checked once we were seated. Drinks came in fits and starts, had to call the waiter over repeatedly. Chose the gluten free onion soup, as did my friend - both came with bread sitting in it - fine if you’re not coeliac but an absolute no no for me. They took it back and after a while, an onion soup without bread arrived. Everybody had eaten their starters at this point. Tasted alright but could easily be confused with a Bovril drink with onions. My soup bowl remained in front of me until the waiter came to ask if I wanted to see the dessert menu…. My main meal was fine, hence the one star. Three other meals were stone cold. A vegan meal had cheese in it. The incompetence was never ending. Three of us complained, and the waitress ( or was she a manager of some kind?) had a hostile demeanour , and bartered with us about reducing the price. Two meals were not charged for , even though three meals were inedible. The plentiful waiting staff were lovely when they managed to peel themselves away from standing by the wall, but seemed very young and inexperienced. They nearly crashed into each other whilst laden with meals on more than one occasion. At the end of the night, with a bill of more than £250, we were all still hungry, had hardly any drinks and were completely dissatisfied and disappointed. Food was poor quality, freezing cold , and complaints were handled very badly. Delays in bringing food to the table were inexplicable when there was so many staff and a menu ordered in advance. Management needs a course in leadership. The kitchen needs an overhaul and the waiting staff need training. Restaurants need to deliver more than fancy baubles. If we’d seen the lengthy list of negative reviews before we booked we wouldn’t have bothered. Never again.

Unfortunately, the only thing I enjoyed at this restaurant was the beautiful view of the city. The service was extremely poor - we watched our drinks sit the bar for a long time whilst getting bypassed for larger table orders. The food was okay. The staff were very unsure on general table service and how to communicate with customers. I barely leave poor reviews on here, however, I certainly won't be returning to this restaurant. It's such a shame because the overall location and decor are to a good standard.

I'd say this is a hidden jem in Bootle, but perhaps I was just woefully uninformed that this restaurant was a two minute walk from my place of work. Situated on the top floor of Daniel House, Fourteen is a tastefully appointed modern restaurant, offering panoramic views to Liverpool City centre, the docks and across the Mersey to the Wirral. The rooftop terrace had pent you outdoor seating too, which would be perfect for watching the sun set on a summer evening (very romantic if you're prone to such things) Although well worth visiting for the view alone, the food is great too, in relaxed surroundings with very helpful staff. I'll certainly be visiting again soon!

Interior Xmas Decoration is 💯! Absolutely love the roof (took them 5 days to finish)…. An instant christmasy feeling once I step inside the restaurant, especially at night when u can see the beautiful Liverpool! They do Sunday Roast Menu on Sunday. £20.95 for two courses / £25 for three courses. Appetizers I had the lamb chop, great marinate, flavourful from outside to the inside of the meat. Beautiful grill marks. Love the kick from the chilli! My partner had the Bang Bang Chicken Sushi, rolled sushi deep fried in oil after coating it in tempura batter. Sushi still remains its soft texture inside, very special! Main: Roast Chicken: Moist meat, giant yorkshire pudding with the gravy😋 Salmon with Potato Gratin, love the creamy sauce, compliments the salmon! Dessert Banoffee Tart: The taste is okay, base can be a bit less dense, more banana will be better too (best if they put some on top and flambe them), a little bit less cream will be ideal for healthy diet! Overall, Love the dining experience, highly recommend to everyone to see the decorations and try their food!

What a nice place, it's on the 14th floor(getaway! 😂) of a standard block of flats. Greeks very weird going in but the restaurant is beautiful. The view is absolutely fantastic. The staff are really friendly and the food tastes lovely. I could have eaten much more! At the moment the Christmas decorations are unreal. I don't know how much it cost but it was 100% worth it. If you want a meal in the next few weeks that puts you right in the festive mood make sure you visit here.

I really, really wanted to like this place. But what a huge mixed bag it ended up as. The good: - spectacular views - the best strawberry daiquiri in the city, hands down - the seared salmon sushi was small but stunning The bad: - literally no signage for the place. If you get lost like us, it’s inside “Daniel House” and up to the 13th floor - Service was chaotic and mostly terrible - lots of asking for drinks orders (£££), but 45 mins between starter and mains, and then didn’t even offer us desserts at all. Shame as the staff seem nice - My god the food was expensive for trifling portions. Great presentation but simply not enough - Avoid the dragon roll sushi unless you love ridiculously spicy food: I ate only one piece because it was coated in the stuff. Why wasn’t it labelled as spicy on the menu?! - the burger was actually just four of the mini starter burgers on a bun, which is poor form and a cop out - the toilet situation (one male, one female, one disabled) had people queuing up the corridor and then just using any - why not make them mixed? Unsure if we’ll be back, even though the cocktails were great.

The local staff was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Food was good and fairly priced. It was busy and the atmosphere was good. The views from bar and grill 14 offer something different from other restaurants in the area. Will definitely go back

Service was nice, food below average. Order a fillet steak which was priced at £32 and literally 7 chips on a plate and i am not exaggerating it. The steak on its own was dry and slightly overcooked, peppercorn sauce was 100% off the pack,as a chef and a previous restaurant owner I know full well how the peppercorn sauce is. It's a shame as the views and service was great. Would definitely not go back.

This is the 3rd time we have been here. The decorations are lovely and the staff are lovely. But, the food is overpriced and not great. My fish looked like it had been sat on. It was flat and did not look appealing at all. £9 for desserts, totally overpriced. Ladies toilets broke, disabled toilets had all water on the floor. We had to ask for everything twice, then tried to charge us for a dessert and pint we didn’t have. We defo won’t be returning. This place could be amazing, but it’s not. Half the staff are kids and I’m sure should not be serving alcohol. Such a shame !!

Waited 45 minutes for food. ordered burgers in buns. They came out with hard bread/dough type toppings instead of brioche’s buns, burgers were cold, but pink inside. With Grated cheese on top. Could not eat them & was not paying for them. Chips were nice & hot but not worth £5. Loved the baubles on the Ceiling. & Quiet noisy. The Good thing was They gave us a refund for 2 servings of burgers.

We booked to celebrate both a birthday and engagement on Saturday evening. Although we were early that didn’t phase the lady on reception who seated us very quickly. The atmosphere was good with plenty of diners , some of which were families. The choice of menu was unusual with sushi, fish and chips and chicken Milanese to name but a few. However don’t be fooled the food was beautifully presented. The plates were unusual in shape but we enjoyed it very much. Between us we had halloumi fries and dragon vegetable roll sushi to start. Fab flavours. We then had chicken Milanese and Taste of pork which consisted of pork cheek, pork fillet pork belly and black pudding with apple sauce and cauliflower purée. The pork cheek fell apart it was so tender, the pork belly had lovely crackling and the pork fillet was very tasty too. Although we had room for a dessert they had run out of cheesecake so decided against as none of the other dishes appealed. The staff were very attentive and special mention to Michelle who in addition to being very friendly when she and the waitresses were obviously busy still found time to present my fiancée with a small chocolate cake with candle in it with congratulations in chocolate writing. A lovely touch. The decorations looked amazing which added to what was a great night.

Christmas overload in this beautiful restaurant with panoramic views of Liverpool. Delightful food and delicious cocktails. All under a canopy of thousands of baubles 🎄👏🏻🥂🎅 this place could rival a new york restaurant any day. This is a seasonal must see.

Took my daughter and two grandaughters for lunch. Will definitely visit again. Loads of choice on the menu, I had the pork and my daughter had the salmon and both were delicious. Kids menu is value for money as the chicken nuggets and the fish fingers are made from scratch. We had starters, mains and a drink each and the bill was Just over £15 per head..absolute value for money. Just a note, take cash to tip the staff as they don't receive it if you put it on card payment and trust me they deserve a tip, they are so friendly and professional. The views and internal decor are simply beautiful...

Well had an invite to go for lunch in a place called 14 bar & restaurant didn't no it was on the 14th floor of a building in Bootle Merseyside and the staff made us very welcome and very helpful, had a walk around out side on the roof and what a view and it was great a bit windy on the day we went but so what it was great, also there's a jacuzzi on the roof, and the staff had told us the public can use it, think it would be great in the summer, the other thing is THEY ONLY TAKE BOOKINGS sorry KIDDERS but it's different try it out 👍🏻

Not the kind of place you would expect for Bootle if you know what I mean but the views at the top are unlike any other. Will be back just for them alone, the food and drink is really good too.

We took an apartment for one night, which was clean and comfortable. The staff was really helpful and nice. The bathroom and kitchen were great. The location is 5 minutes away from a train station and it takes about 20 minutes by bus or train to get to city centre. Highly recommended!

My wife and I arrived here quite late at night and were received very warmly by a pleasant, kind gentleman. The room was modern, very well lit and spotlessly clean. The amenities were adequate. We will definitely recommend Daniel's House to anyone staying in Bootle.

This was a great experience. £4 got myself and my boyfriend from the city centre to the bus stop right outside the doors. We went for takeaway at night and felt safe. Rooms were clean and bed was comfy! Staff was INCREDIBLE and knowledgeable, you won't get service like this anything less than a 5 star hotel. Will definitely be back!

Great place. Unusual venue. Food 5 star. Views amazing. Staff great. I have poor mobility at present so access was a bit of a pain as main lift only goes to floor 13 and another lift has to be activated by staff to access the restaurant on the 14th. Amazing place though.

Absolutely love this place. Really well thought out and the design of the place is stunning, as are the views. The outside terrace is amazing and the views at night when the town is lit up, is out of this world. Food was gorgeous and will deffo be returning.

First visit, and many more to come. Food was amazing, setting was just beautiful and the staff were top notch. Highly recommend 14 Bar and Grill to anyone. It really is a 'must visit'.

  • 1/5 Michael S. 1 year ago on Google
Very poor, which is a shame. Half the menu wasn’t available due to a broken fryer, which seems to be a on going issue for them. Even though we seen other tables served food which “wasn’t available”. Very long wait to get drinks and for food to arrive. 25 minutes + between courses. The mains were a disaster. Medium fillet steak, £30 came well done. Missed a main meal out, came when everyone else had finished & also came out piping hot/Luke warm which points to it being microwaved. Another meal came with 1 piece of chicken but they did take this off the bill when asked. Cocktails were watered down and didn’t really taste great. Either they’re short staffed or just disorganised and we had an unlucky experience but I won’t be going back again. The building the restaurant is situated at the top isn’t in the best state with the lift situation. 14 flights of up and the lifts don’t work, doesn’t compute.

Style over substance 👎🏼 No parking information on website. Didn’t appear to have disabled access. Food over priced for what you get, definitely could have been better sized and some food was dry. Waited a long time time from ordering to being served, food was warm. Would not return for food. Seems ok as a rooftop bar.

The Xmas decorations are up so the place looks amazing. There was quite a bit of a queue and people were having to wait even with a booking. For starter the bang bang chicken sushi is amazing would definitely recommend. For main I had a salmon meal which was really good. The dessert however was just okay. It looked amazing but the taste was just okay, also had to wait for more than 25 mins for it the order had initially been forgotten. I do understand however that this could be due to being a Sunday and everyone seemed to be overwhelmed.

Clean apartment, very comfortable bed, friendly staff, and good location. Train station in 5-10 minutes walk, bus station nearby. Highly recommend!

I had some issues with the food - mini burgers turned up cold( ordered as main), delayed (ordered as starter)& disappointing. The sushi and Korean pork loins were actually rather nice in comparison. However, the service was almost café like between the 45 minute wait for starters, 15 minute wait to receive drinks, orders delay & the general atmosphere was very laid back considering the bill you would expect a more professional and efficient routine when dealing with customers such as actively removing empty glasses ( I had three empty just from myself) or offering refreshments in a timely manner. The location of the restaurant should not dictate how staff behave/manage or deal with orders in a timely manner.

After hearing great things about this place I took my partner last night and we absolutely loved it. The food was beautiful and so well presented. The manageress & the young lad with glasses were all so attentive and a credit to the owners. We also loved the young lad singing. I'm struggling to find a fault with this place because there wasn't any. Can't wait to bring the folks in the summer and sit outside looking over our beautiful city at sun set with cocktails. This place is a hidden gem 💎 ❤.
