The bridge always invites to cross, stop and enjoy the view around: old town, spectacular architecture, many cafes, special atmosphere.

I fell in love with this bridge. The Old Town of Vilnius is huge and very beautiful. This little river is awesomely cute. There are many bridges and this one is quite unique, in front of the entrance to Užupis. In the warmer months, you can enter the river with your feet and sit on the famous swing.

A wonderful bridge that leads you to the village of Uzupis. A swing below the bridge, where the bravest dare to walk to swing😂The water in the river is slightly below the knee.

Užupis is a whimsical and artistic neighborhood known for its bohemian atmosphere and unique vibe. This self-proclaimed "Republic of Užupis" is characterized by its creative spirit, vibrant street art, and a quirky constitution celebrating artistic freedom and individuality.

The bridge it self is quite beautiful, but it also marks that you are moving into a new «republic». Somewhen in the 90es the locals proclaimed Uzupis as a separate republic from Lithuania. Quite ballsy, and hence the place deserves a visit. Some of the citizens still keep the Uzupis republic alive and you can buy their flag and souvernirs at some select places. When entering you should keep ypur eyes open for art in all kind of fashions. From street paintings to performance to sculpture and music. Still worthy of being a separatist republic by my standards! Go Uzupis!

The bridge that leads into the quirky Užupis Republic. My favorite part is the swinging chair under the bridge where you can dip your feet.

A quirky story behind this little “republic” within Vilnius. As you cross the bridge you are reminded of its constitution and can even head to read it in multiple languages. Find your language and see if you can spot any funny mistakes in the translation.

seems to be common throughout the world. I will pursue these in earnest. There are couple #padlocks on two bridges near #orthodoxcathedral . Bigger and more powerful than what you see in Finland and older. It seems to have existed for a long time, but there are not so many. There are still new ones, so it seems that some people still wear them. You can see a mermaid statue here. It may be an old tradition. I still need to look into it. After that, there are many photo art works on the bank of the road. instagram:aed_traveler offten post travel info

Under the bridge there is a swing - do not know who is brave enough to go sit on it. Above the bridge are very locks that indicate couplehood Next to the mermaid bridge What a magical bridge
