Incredible Art Deco museum in Kaunas (recenty Kaunas Modernist Architecture was granted UNESCO World Heritage status, and this building is an example of it). You need to buy a ticket online, book a date and participate in a guided tour. The ticket price is 23 EUR (totally worth every euro). The owners, a couple - Petras and Karolis, bought this beautiful art deco building, furnished it, rebuild it in a accurate manner and opened it for public to enjoy. It gives you a unique look into the life of lithuanians before Soviet occupation. Our guide was very polite, very engaging. You will be asked to take pictures AFTER the tour and you will have enough time to do so. You will be able to touch everything, to sit on furniture, open drawers and take a look. It's not your typical musuem where you can't touch anything. They also do tours in english and other languages. You can buy personal tour just for yourself, it will be more expsnsive of course.

A fantastic little experience, allowing one to get a peek into the times of old, with authentic furniture, stories and feelings. Not only are the hosts professional, charismatic and entertaining, most of the exposition can be felt, sat on, touched and tasted. An absolutely worthwhile visit to any art, architecture or history lover.

Amazing and interesting place that lets one get a better feel of how some people truly lived during the interwar period in Lithuania. The idea of a mandatory guide is both excellent and very well implemented for this particular setting. Highly recommended.

Visiting the museum is an amazing experience and a must for everyone. This interwar apartment is beautifully restored with original furniture and you can feel the spirit of that era alive in the museum. The owners Karolis and Petras are very knowledgeable, very friendly and sincere - visiting the apartment you feel like their friend and learn so many details about the interwar era, architecture, culture. This visit really ignited my wish to learn more about Kaunas and life during interwar period. And I am sure I will come back to the museum with my family.

Amazing experience! It was extremely interesting to visit, you can see how much care and effort the owners and guides put in. It felt like i was visiting an old friend from the past. It was amazing how much trust the owners have to let the guess to freely look around and experience every little detail. The guide did a great job at telling a story about the past and how things worked. It really felt like we are the important guests, met with glass of sparkling wine, and toasts. It was amazing how they restaurated old gadgets and actually used them. The place felt alive, and welcoming. I can only imagine how much work it took, but thank you so much for this experience because it reminds how great Lithuanians where and is to this day, and that we need to not forget and cherish our past and future as nation💕

I was pleasantly surprised by the tour and the initiative itself. Two guys who are passionate about the interwar period in Kaunas bought an authentic 130+ square meter appartment in the city center and did an excelent job in preserving everything they could as well as the spirit of the era. The nearly 2 hours tour felt initimate enough to get a sense of how people lived nearly a century ago. Highly recommend to anyone interested in history or design.
