Me and a friend bought our dinner from here the other day and have are currently still unwell with food poisoning. The chicken must have been undercooked for us to be as sick as we are and I have had to take unpaid time off work while I recover. Will not be going here again (had to give 1 star to be able to post this) **I’m just going to edit this in post in response to the owner’s reply. The food poisoning has definitely came from here. I have been the GP who has confirmed food poisoning and my friend got the exact same meal and is in the exact same state as I am (so I highly doubt we both have just happened to get food poisoning at the same time from something several weeks ago). I did not make contact on the day as the symptoms began in the evening when the cafe was shut and I did not want to kick up a fuss as I’d hope that I would recover quickly. I have been prompted to make this review today as I am now having time off work due to being so unwell. The response is quite concerning as it implies that this will not be investigated for safer working practises to be put in place to prevent this from happening in the future.

Mangetout catered an event for us this week and we were seriously impressed by the quality of the food, as well as their excellent service and attention to detail. They couldn't have made the event go more smoothly. Highly recommended.

I just feel its seriously overpriced when it comes to toast and a latte. All I ordered was 2 thick toast and a large latte with syrup and it came to £6.25. I'm was just shocked at the price to be honest; it's as if one slice of toast is the price of a whole loaf and it's not even butter it's margarine, the latte wasn't very good this time either, in the past it's been fine, but today it was too weak. I doubt I'll be back for any sort of breakfast again; shame about the prices as the staff are lovely people.

The breakfast was really greasy the toasts soggy the tomatoes were just slush n bacon over cooked n dripping with grease But the other things like sandwich s n everything else looked very good n very clean think it was a bad day for the breakfast chef without a doubt

I bought the premium sausage batch and a large filter coffee. Unfortunately the sausages weren't premium they were just bigger cheap sausages and the coffee wasn't hot. Please buy a decent coffee machine. And decent sausages, even if you need to charge us a bit more.

Spent a lot of time in here today whilst waiting for a passport to be issued. Great food, loads of choice and very very very friendly staff. Thanks for feeding us. Xx

My son and I come here all the time and we think this place is downright fabulous!! Always freshly made, utterly delicious and the ladies here are so amazing and friendly. I love it here

I came here on the way to work on the recommendation of a colleague and I got hooked the premium sausage baps are to die for and what surprises me the most is whenever I go in it's busy but service is always quick and not bad for city centre prices at all

Myself and my colleague came up from Northampton (where we work) to do a delivery at the passport place around the corner, when it was our turn to be served the lovely ladies who prepared our food were very friendly and made us feel very welcome and gave us a magnificent compliment which we've taken and we left very happily, it makes us feel there should be more places like this with lovely and friendly people.

Every time I've been here the food has been great, as has the service. The prices are average for the location, but actually really affordable when compared with the exceptional quality of food served and the friendly atmosphere. In addition, this is a locally-run business - I'd always prefer to spend my money here, instead of at one of the over-priced chains nearby.

Dropped in after Passport Office appointment as only a few mins walk away. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. Had two great cooked breakfasts and they make a lovely cup of tea! Great value and service. Definitely recommend.

Very good value and friendly staff. Doorstep toast for 60p. Good breakfast and lunch choices. I'd rather go to an independent shop like this than a chain café.

Definitely overpriced for the quality of the hot food in here.

Food is ok but prices and service is abysmal. 2 toast is £1 beans are 75p but if you want beans on toast it's £3 apparently. Staff were extremely ignorant and seemed incapable of processing basic maths. Following their reply this is apparently justifiable as they kindly gave me a takeaway box to put it in as well as a knife and fork to eat it with. How incredibly generous. They also seem to misunderstand the concept of a USP saying theirs is to give customer's what they want for a good price. I don't see how that selling point is particularly unique. Surely that's the intention of most businesses. It appears their replies are just as good as their pricing strategy.

Really delicious sandwiches and hot food. I love that I can check the specials on the website daily and that I can order my lunch by email so it's ready for me to pick up on my lunch break. The staff are all lovely and friendly too :)

Nice employees patient and always smiling! Their food is alway good tasty and they are fast. It's my lunch spot. I recommend this place!

Food is really tasty, great selection and the staff are all really welcoming, helpful and friendly.

Overall Lovely friendly staff and great food. Apart from one member of staff who for some reason has a face touching the floor, and looks at you as if she wants to kill you every time you go to the till to pay for your food. I've never met this person before but It's something I've picked up on every time I visit, especially since all the other staff are so nice.

Best place for breakfast and lunch in Liverpool. Amazing staff. They also do online orders for office lunches. Our office always orders business lunches from these guys. Top quality everytime!
