CUCKOO September 6th/23rd 2023 Everything about this theatre production oozes brilliance The Merseyside family home setting brings a great sense of comfort and familiarity to the audience Cuckoo touches on some of the dark truths associated with modern technology and how the Internet way of life impacts each individual of the four female characters Of three generations Michael Wynne's cuckoo gives great insight into traditional scouse families and culture and is consistent with hilarious one-liners covering many relatable topics The captivating performance triggers tears of sadness and joy throughout Beautifully written performed and delivered by four exceptional Merseyside actors

Attended a rehearsed reading for a play, and it was incredible. The staff were really helpful, safety guidelines were followed, and the performance itself was so well done and thought-provoking. Would definitely recommend a visit or ten.

Went to see the Rock & Roll panto with our 4 grandchildren. Fabulous show, very talented group of actors, singers and musicians. The theatre is lovely, all seats have great view, we were 2 rows back, felt like we were on the stage. Highly recommend.

One of my favourite places. Had a great night watching Red Riding Hood (the rock and roll panto) .Right up in the stalls but comfy seats and clear view. I am quite deaf but the dialogue was clear to me which it often isn't in other theatres.

Great theatre with a 70s contemporary feel about it and modern stage setting. Seen many plays here, never a bad one, staff always friendly and helpful - just need to be careful in booking the side seats that you don't end up with a stiff neck, having to twist it for two hours watching the stage

Normally, i am delighted by shows. This time, I got it wrong and went to see a Panto. I thought it was aimed at adults, but realistically, it was for kids. It was a bit wokey for me. It was good to see the kids laugh, tho. will be more a bit more careful about what I book

This was pretty embarassing and overpriced. The food was poorly cooked (haven't had a burger this well done in years), the wine was spilled all over the glass at serving, the ambience was completely incoherent (why would you want to combine Beatles memorabilia, headshots of famous individuals and fancy decor design into a single restaurant?). Not recommended if you have any taste (or tastebuds) at all.

Shame it was empty when visiting the cafe as it seems a nice cosy place to meet up and chat. I guess it's busy of an evening or when a play is on? Coffee prices seem very reasonable for the area but please put a cover over those cakes mainly for hygiene and to stop me drooling over them.

For the prices (£15-£20 for a main I would have expected silver service. That said the food was nice and the ambience lovely but certainly not worth what they are charging.

Very specific visit for us this time. A tour of the behind the scenes of the theatre! With afternoon tea afterwards. As a fan of the theatre this was a thrill for me. We got to see dressing rooms, the costume department, the green room, the writers room, rehearsal spaces. The guide was lovely, very personable and as an employee, of course, knew her stuff. I especially like the talk with the costume designer. When I go to see the panto this Christmas I will see it in a whole new light now. Afternoon tea was tasty, good selection of sandwiches and cakes. Absolutely recommend this. The tours are only in August however as the theatre has no performances that month. Thank you Everyman!

This place has been done up lovely. Remember going there as a kid to watch the shows and the difference is immense. Very sleek and modern looking inside. There are a wide range of shows put on there as well. I went to see Sweeney Todd with friends there and it was AMAZING. The stage itself isn't very large and there isn't a huge amount of seating but no matter where you sit you always have a good view of the stage. The staff are lovely and very helpful too.

Poped in for light refreshments after visiting the catholic cathederal. Polite service and great ambiance, and obviously popular with a wide variety of people. The beverages we had were great and better than most other places. Had oat milk and catered for alergies. Recommended and would visit again.

The musical "Anything Goes" 🛟 is definitely worth watching. I would have posted some photos of it but unfortunaltely I was not allowed to take any. The seats were very comfortable. The only drawback was the rather expensive food and beverages, as well as it was not possible to pay with cash. 💷

We went to watch, 'Corrina, Corrina' and it was amazing! I had to clamp my mouth shut to stop me shouting out. The acting was superb, the venue, much like the Octagon Theatre in Bolton, is perfect and the story is brilliant and so poignant. We'll done, you guys.

We have been going to the pantomime at the Everyman for over 15 years. Last year saw a huge change with the director, the writer and the cast, and we didn’t think it was it was theusual brilliant production. Hoping for something better we went this afternoon, the story was a confused jig saw, the cast disappointing and even the music uninspiring. The humour not appropriate for children, couldn’t wait for it to finish and probably won’t go back next year. The only saving grace was Andy Keast, our Graham.

Started with dinner which was delicious. Into the panto fantastic great mix of ages attended and all en encouraged to join in, the fairy god mother was outstanding. I didn't realize the Everyman is a charity and was disappointed i hadn't brought cash to throw in the bucket at the end. I have already booked for next year.

Had a brilliant night downstairs at the Everyman watching Fem de la Femme present their menopause special. It was a brilliant evening full of comedy, music and laughs. The whole night felt really uplifting and it was such a reasonable price for the entertainment we got. I'll never forget the 3 faces of a Scouse cob on from now on! Thanks Fem de la Femme for a top night.

The theater where the seating is located is very narrow, you have to stop for a person to pass. We have seen Cinderella The Rock 'n Roll Panto, all the artists are excellent, good actors, singers and musicians, I give the theater 5 stars and 3 stars.

Lovely clean place with a lot of staff on hand if you needed them. Prices are reasonable at £2 for a draft Pepsi. Lovely theatre and definitely be back.

Fantastic show ! Cinderella, the cast worked so hard. The stage had a problem with the trap door but the actor's carried on with the show. The booking office made the ticket collection easy .My partner has bad knees however it was no problem to find a seat that catered for her disability. Very impressed with the whole experience.

I always enjoy the atmosphere, and the play was well-presented. I was particularly grateful for the kindness and patience of your box office. I had confused the date of my booking, but your staff sorted the situation out very efficiently, and with very good humour.

Especially the underground bar is a place to lighten wine or beer and give a refreshing atmosphere. Last night, at the Everyman Bistro, we enjoyed an evening of beer tasting (5 tipples from the Neptune Brewery in Maghull) and food (Ham Hock Terrine) to complement Neptune's latest brew, Poseidon Orange Pale Ale. All that plus insights from founder & brewer, Les O’Grady. The beers in order... 1: Glacier IPA 5·6% 2: Big Sur (American Hops) 4·5% 3: Poseidon Orange Pale Ale 4·8% 4: Black Moor Porter (Cask Beer) 4·0% 5: Oatmeal Stout (Cask Beer) 5·0% (Already won 2 Awards) Great value and you can visit and try out the beers yourself! I'll be looking out for any future events at the Everyman Bistro; perhaps I'll see you there.

This place has really gone downhill. The poor meals on offer were just like slop served up in a homeless soup kitchen. Tasted burnt, gritty and unwashed mushrooms. Left this dish unfinished. I'd ever return to eat here.

(Translated by Google) Here we were unfortunately disappointed. We ordered the Afternoontea in advance. I would have asked in writing for a gluten-free afternoontea, but this was ignored. This is not so bad for me, but annoying. The space assigned to us was right at the bar. We asked if we could have another seat but that was denied us for reservations. We were alone in the shop. The staff was very restless, which has unfortunately transferred to us. The sandwiches were unimaginative and I have never experienced at any afternoontea that you only get one scone. It was a pity, we expected more.

This was a gift for our golden wedding. I ordered the top price fillet steak with bearnaise sauce. They brought me what seemed to be a nice tender steak ,I pored over the sauce to find it was peppercorn which I can't eat, I sent it back they then said you're in luck another table has over ordered and it was a steak with the sauce I wanted. After trying a mouthful I realised it was not a fillet but more likely a sirloin and it was tough as old boots almost inedible I should have sent that back as well but I didn't want to make any fuss , very disappointed on a what should have been a lovely gift Barbara Iatrou

There were Beatles pictures all around the restaurant and they played Beatles music the entire time. The food and drinks were delicious and the service was a bit slow but otherwise great and friendly. It's a great small quiet restaurant. All the food and cocktails on the menu were in some way related to the Beatles as well.

If I could give a 0 I would. Why? Bottom line, prices were incredibly high, food absolutely sucked and service was worse. 1st. The steak was ordered medium, which was reiterated, it came out rare at best. No check by wait staff till the very end of dinner as to how the meal was, ruining any chance to refire the meat. 2nd A slow braised beef was ordered which was served in very thin, tough slices. Anyone ever making a slow cooked beef knows it's not possible. The meat should be butter soft while this was tough and again thin sliced. 3rd. The waitress dropped a knife from a starter plate and rather than pick it up, let it sit there the length of dinner. 4. I was charged a service fee that was not discussed or mentioned it was just added. 5. Even when asked if we were done with the meal and replying yes, after another 15 minutes I had to ask for the bill. This was on a slow night during the middle of the week with only 2 tables besides us. All in all i am amazed this place is in business.

  • 1/5 Debby P. 4 years ago on Google
Rubbish. Put us in the lobby of hard days night, had to ask to be moved to the restaurant. Veggie was given thin, soggy, floppy cucumber sandwiches, no choices or options. All on the same stand as the beef, ham and salmon sandwiches, which weren't much better. Strawberries put on the stand with the cakes (not homemade) were off, asked to change them and they just took them off and said that the chef thought he could 'get away with them'. Brough over a plate of chunky tomato and cheese sandwiches after we complained about lack of veggie choice. Chef obvs did give a hoot. Had the nerve to add on a 10%service charge after we've complained about 2 diff things. Dont think so. So disappointed. Definitely wouldn't recommend or go back.
