Good facilities yet inconsiderate swimmers in the 20m pool, during the morning sessions, make it hard for swimmers to complete laps. Two gossiping groups take over 2-3 lines on each side leaving other swimmers squashed in the middle. Some are forced into larger pool which they may not be as comfortable swimming in or leave entirely. Pool side staff seemingly ignore this rudeness and paying swimmers are left dissatisfied. Many who attend these early morning sessions go before work/ school and yet they are are unable to enjoy or even complete their swimming.

Women only 25m is good not that busy. The centre generally is clean. They only need to take care more of the lockers

The new layout of the gym is horrendous. It feels so much more crowded around the machines. Also so much change makes it really difficult for people who it took a long time to get comfortable going to the gym in the first place. Now i feel like i cant go back because its too overwhelming.

I had a rather unpleasant experience at this establishment due to the poor service and what seemed to be a hostile environment. The staff's attitude was far from hospitable or professional, which left a deeply negative impression on me. Most troublingly, I was asked to leave for reasons that were not clearly communicated to me. Not only was the demand unwarranted, but it also demonstrated a lack of basic customer service skills and respect. The management, disappointingly, did not rise above the poor standard set by the staff. Rather than addressing the issue or attempting to reconcile the situation, the manager's solution was simply to refund the £4 I had paid. While I appreciate the refund, this did not compensate for the rudeness and disrespect that I had encountered. It's deeply disheartening to see a lack of effort in providing decent customer service in a business. The overall experience was frustrating and inconvenient, leaving a poor taste that no amount of refund can erase. I hope my experience isn't reflective of the norm for this establishment. Improvement in staff behaviour and management's handling of customer complaints are needed to ensure this doesn't happen to future customers. Unfortunately, until I see a change, I cannot recommend this establishment.

Pools are great but the 20m pool is let down by the OAP’s ‘coffee morning’ let’s talk groups who get in the way of people wanting to swim. They are oblivious to everything around them and just take up too many lanes and also scowl at you because you dare to swim. If you want to swim and you are not fit enough for the 50m pool then do not go to this pool between 7-9am.

Well where do I start, trying to sign up for membership can be a pain. It must of taken a least 3 or 4 days before I could start using the facilities. Never mind the prices they charge for membership, which are high. I've being going the gym an pool I think almost 3 months now. The gym equipment is quite dated and old. With some of the machines just out right broken at times. All the weights and machines are caked in dust or rust. There's been times where am getting funny looks, because it sounds like am making balloon animal's, because equipment is so rusty. It be nice if they updated and cleaned the machines. An possibly add in some new machine types too. I also have the pool facilities included within my membership. Let's just say it's not any better. I didn't notice much at first but after a while, you start to see the dirt, mold and overall lack of hygiene each area has. The pool itself is pretty cold, some days the chlorine can be a bit stronger. It's as if someone must of slipped on the side of the pool an the whole bucket must of fell in. The steam room might aswell be a smell box, I've been in there a few times, and you can smell mold and urine at times. The sauna was okay to be fare, but the room itself is quite small. The jacuzzi might aswell be a dogs drinking bowl. I've used it twice, and after some of the things I've seen floating around in there, never again. Not the best or likable experience so far, and after seeing other gyms offering better deals, with clean a safer facilities. I'm considering going elsewhere if there's no changes, or at least improvements to their facility currently. Shame really, the staff seem quite nice. Not had any issues talking with or asking for help from them. Just the facility standards is what let's this place down.

It's pretty nice but its wierd not to have drinking water in the gymnasium while staff thinks that's normal 🙄They have a drinking water tap marked blue in the toilet 🤡 No hooks anywhere to hang jackets- don't know that's just indifference or health/safety Swimming pool lockers take 20p coin and not 1£- pretty ridiculous as 20p are so much more difficult I guess. Pretty nice facilities although I had IT issue with my membership card and lady at the till was undertrained/disintetested I guess. They are really nice over the phone- I bet they are a different group. Customer facing staff is mostly grumpy and disinterested, clearly not happy in the job and lack training....that's what it looks like on the face but am not sure if am missing something. They are more like prison staff or something.

Came with my daughters for public swim. The website said 11:30am onwards. Got to reception and was told to wait until 12pm as they've decided to do a class that isn't on the website. Tried to wait inside, was told that everybody has to wait outside. They have an indoor seating area so I asked if we could sit there. Was told no as there will be too many people to manage. What happens in the rain? In Winter? Truly awful customer service. The staff basically told me it was easier for them.

The overwhelming feeling I'd describe with trying to actively swim at this centre is pure and utter frustration. To begin, the reception staff at the front desk aren't particularly helpful and can be quite rude. You've got to go above and beyond to apply for the student concession discount by asking for a letter from the university and even then, they omit to tell you that it only applies before 4.30pm. Once you do manage to get in at the right time, the changing rooms do not feel very clean at all and the only availability of a proper shower is the disabled toilets which are always locked. Overall, the facilities just seem poor and difficult. I'd say the most obstructive part is the timetable. As an adult who wants do lane swimming, despite the fact there are three sections of pool, there's only ever one or two sessions a day that are 90 minutes each in length. So it's never a matter of going for a spontaneous swim, you have to plan it around your day especially if you want the concession price. Even then, when I've gone at the right time at the start of an adult swim session the experience was not good. Both times the one section of pool for adult swim, only half of it was in operation as they apparently need two life guards per pool. Even then the half is divided again into fast swimmers and slow and the unless you are an Olympic swimmer you'll need to go in the slow lanes so after all that effort to come at the right time, you're crammed like sardines into a quarter of a pool with many other adults you have to constantly overtake or are constantly being overtaked by. Overall, not worth the effort.

Excellent - moreover, well laid out and planned for social distance, lovely and clean, staff are great, parking and access is so easy for all, especially disabled etc, Highly recommended.

Main pool used for schools after 09.30. But smaller pool for adult use. Clean bright on sunny day. Graduated steps for those who have difficulty getting in or staff offer a hoist to assist. Adequate cubicles for changing, showers. Staff friendly. Cost £4.50 per swim. On the 60 (Bootle) bus route, ask for Picton Rd.

Great facilities, shame the subcontract staff are so unbelievably rude. J Doherty from Logika. No customer service skills and just plain rude and offensive (trying to be the big man), Wavertree should be ashamed. If it hadn't been for this busy body you would have had 5 stars !

Busy 50m lanes on a Saturday. They dont allow certain finis paddles. Unknowing there was only 30mins left of the session, but they were still happy to take my money without telling me. Nice enough facility. A little dated. Was expecting a bit more

Small 20m pool is ideal for older swimmers trying to keep fit, but for some reason closed during every school holiday. This is a let down for people who require this facility. The 25m pool is great for kids but older ones can not swim as it is too shallow. The staff are very good and attentive, plenty of lifeguards. Although kept clean the dressing area is a let down, but pools are very good.

Been using the pool here since April, not the cleanest of changing rooms ie chewing gum in the floor, some showers are so hot, you could make coffee with the water, also during school terms adults are forced to use the pool which is only 0.9 meters, how can someone who is 6feet 5 inches tall swim in that, what bright spark came up with that idea, put family swim in the shallow pool & adult swimming in the 20m pool, it's not rocket science, also staff have training every Wednesday, they need training on personality benefits, my god are they hard work & grumpy.

Its randomly closed alot and it never puts it on the website, so when you drive up to it there's a sign outside saying pool closed. The changing rooms are always dirty broken lockers its all disappointing. But the staff are nice they always smile when greeting you and they have great manners

The swimming pools are great, I have no complaints. However my issue is with the lockers. Last week I spent 10 minutes trying to find a locker that works! Most of them don't work. I made a member of staff aware who advised they can't so anything and it's best I leave a review regarding this point.

Ok, so the staff aren't so much as rude as misguided and forceful on their approach. I agree they need customer service training. But I'd also say that on gala days this has been the only place that is treating adults like children. The 2nd issue is lack of food and drink. No cafe and the machines do not work. When you are at a gala for 10-12hrs a day over a weekend this is simply not on, esp when there is nothing else within walking distance except 1 which closes at 3 on Sat and not at all on Sun. I have given 3 stars as the pools themselves are good

Great pool but freezing cold, way too cold to enjoy a swim! If your going with a little one ask if the small pool is open before you go

Poor form, gym goers on treadmills having to endure a distorted cacophony of music from morning class, instructor shouting due to unnecessary loud volume, hopefully Natalie discovers the volume control and realises there are other gym goers with the majority wearing airpods.

Prone to errors and failings (like all public services) BUT, the city council's efforts to create and maintain a great service - it's easy to see if you look past the inevitable. Facilities wise, there's something here for everyone in a way; definitely worth a look. - gym, pools, badminton courts, tennis courts and a variety of fitness classes.

  • 1/5 John W. 5 months ago on Google
The potholes on the way into the gym are dangerous. I've contacted the council (they claim its the gym's responsibility). I've contacted the gym twice - no reply.

It does the job. It's a bit tired - lots of the swimming pool lockers don't work and the whole thing is a little grimy, but it's OK. Can be busy at lunchtimes and only 2 lanes open for swimming.

  • 5/5 Rebecca S. 6 months ago on Google
I definitely struggled with the thought process of going to the gym for the first time but I’ve been going for over a month now and feel so comfortable coming here. The gym staff/instructors are so helpful and kind. Everything needed to keep machines clean and hand sanitiser too.

Lovely warm pool, was really quiet when we went (Firday early afternoon). Very cheap for swimming (less than a fiver per adult) showers could do with perhaps being a little warmer but lots of lockers available and good roomy changing cubicles. Definitely worth a visit 👍

If the there was an option for 0 reviews I would press it because I threw my ball in the deep end by accident and he never got it and started to be cheeky and I told him to give me it when I was next to him and he threw the ball far away from me and he said it was his ball. Bad review. People never come here it’s a bad place they are rude to people and the close soo early and late.

very clean good gym peaceful atmosphere frendly staff has improved over the years been going to this place for 15 years or more would recommend it to anyone nice pools💪😌

  • 1/5 Estefania a. 2 years ago on Google
Unhelpful staff. An old-fashion website without an app to search or with training exercises. The PTs are not in shape! the place is clean. There are no changing rooms, and the pandemic is not an excuse because all the gyms have enabled them and they continue with restrictions and cleaning. the bathrooms are dirty and wet constantly. On weekends it is open only until 3pm , however the price for the whole day is £ 31, a robbery!! , there is no possibility of paying only for the gym. the gym is tiny with few machines and very outdated. I think this is good for basic exercise routines or people who just want to go hang out and stay active, nothing more. I don't recommend it to anyone though.
