Disgusting pool. Took the family a couple of weeks ago for a swim. Lockers rooms filthy and smelt like urine. Pool was visibly dirty and you could feel the dirt under your feet in the pool. My eldest was really sick not long after the visit and it wouldn't surprise me if it was due to the pool. Avoid

Horrible place, changing facilities are dirty and stink of urine not to mention dangerous, screws sticking out on a broken door hinge in my changing cubical. Clearly no maintenance or cleaning goes on, Staff just standing around talking to each other, Avoid.

It was good. It was good swimming round. The bathrooms for one are dirty and that but that's understandable due to loads of people but cleaning should increase. My second problem was the cubical. They are dirty and between uses they should be dried by staff or provide something for the user to clean. I stepped in being very cautious due to water in there but getting dressed I slipped and bashed my head on the wall.

Members are not allowed to use Sona and steam room after 7pm on Fridays although the centre is open till 9pm. Considering people finish work for the week late on Friday evenings and want to use these facilities, but are not allowed. Very strange and unfair. No logic for allowing people to use these facilities after 7pm especially when the pool is open till 9pm on Fridays.

Nice pool to take my little to one, just wish it was a little bit warmer to help them get used to being in the water. Nice section with the kids slide and bubble area. Clean facilities but the cubicles are a little small would be helpful to have some sort if chair to put babies in whilst you got changed yourself

I had a gym induction session with Donna this morning. She was wonderful. She showed me all the equipment and demonstrated how to use it properly and how not to use it. She took me on a tour of the whole leisure centre, provided leaflets with all the information I needed and gave me the confidence to go ahead and join. Onwards and upwards!

Big pool, childrens pool, flume slide. A seated viewing area of the pool. Health suite that includes a steam room, a sauna and jacuzzi. Gym and also a sports hall. Plenty of parking with football courts outside. Disabled access. There was a cafe that operated inside but it has now closed. Vending machines included. Staff helpful and friendly.

Ideal for kids with a slide but not for swimmers.plus the showers are on pool side thay do have mens&womens changing rooms with showers . Hair dryers not much good if you wont blow dry hair properly . The only good thing you don't have to pay for hair dryers

Pool is ok but place needs a good clean, particularly the changing rooms. Family swim is good value, pool is warm enough and although busy, is not overly crowded

Good public swimming pool. Facilities still holding up well albeit needing a bit of TLC in places when look closely. We went as a couple with our 7 month old baby. There are family changing cubicles available which were useful, however had no baby change pull down table in there and so a little bit of balancing on a bench needed when changing the baby. Having read some previous reviews, we were disappointed that on the day we visited the pools were too cold to keep our baby in too long, even we had a little shock when initially getting in. We only managed 15minutes before she started chattering her teeth (gums!) and so we got out quite quickly. A shame as there was a little baby pool, plus shallow pool and a main pool, plus flume and so plenty of facilities. Whilst we would probably not go back until our little one is a little bigger, it is an overall good pool, with decent facilities and no doubt fun for older toddlers / children. Used a lot by schools and so must be good for slightly older children, or we may have just got an unlucky day where the pools were colder! The ‘public swim’ times are a little limited given all of the activities and schools and so worth checking times online before visiting. At the time we went kids swam free and so was £7.70 for 2 adults and baby.

Lovely pool and great for a family weekend swim. But WOW the water is cold. It was hailing outside so I appreciate the heating being on in the changing rooms, but me and my partner instantly started shivering in the pool. Lowering your body into the cold pool was not nice at all. I know when you’re actually swimming you don’t want it to be warm, but surely on a public swim on weekends when you know the families are coming you could heat it up more? I’ll probably pay more and go somewhere else that’s warmer in future.

The website was not updated so when I arrived for adult swimming it qas down to one lane due to a children's swimming club. There was a group of men dive bombing into the pool and messing about, which blocked the lane and prevented everyone else from swimming. This was not challenged by staff. The rest if the staff and facilities were great.

Had to attend Garston Lifestyles for swimming as Wavertree Aquatics was full. Arrived into the changing rooms and met with an awful stench. The place was filthy. Needless to say i jumped into the pool with my goggles on and noticed the pool floor was covered in dirt after which i immediately got out of the pool, showered and got a full refund. I would expect a certain level of hygiene at a public swimming pool, particularly after COVID. This place is a health hazard. There are somethings you cannot unsee (especially at the bottom of the pool)…… i really wish i wasn’t wearing my goggles, but then i most likely would have received some sort of eye infection. I need to burn my clothes and towel.

Came to swim on Sunday morning and as I was one of the first visitors, I could tell the pool was not cleaned from the previous day. The pool is absolutely filthy, changing rooms smelled of urine, the pool area was filled with rubbish, hairs and more... The staff seem like don't care at all. It's a real shame

The staff and instructors here are excellent. I've been attending this lifestyles for at least 10 years when though the Wavertree aquatics centre is closer to home.

It was a good fun for the kids on the slide and in the pool as well but the changing rooms are quite small. Nice and clean swimming pool, I recommend for everyone.

Decent enough gym, for a very good price. However, they desperately need a water filling station in the gym.

Honestly worst experience ever! If you have a young baby or pregnant would not recommend to them. Because the water was that cold ! Their was young children with blue lips . The showers where ice cold . I felt so sly on the young babies shivering. Especially during the school holidays . The cafe was shut not open during school holidays. And the vending machine only cash only no card machine working and only 1 hair dryer working , with 0 plugs for you’re own to bring.

  • 5/5 Faye S. 2 years ago on Google
Very good gym, first time I have gone to a lifestyles gym before. During my induction the guy who showed me around was very nice, went into everything in depth, the pool is a very nice area, although there was families there because it was public swim time, it wasn't hectic, could still have a peaceful swim without being interrupted. Lots of equipment at the gym and everyone seemed nice. No complaints at all

  • 4/5 TR K. 2 years ago on Google
Overall good gym, but despite Pandemic and there own rules, hardly any hand sanitation stations are full, usually empty and lack of people from the public don't bother cleaning down their equipment after use. Other than that, good lifestyles for many services, gym, classes, swimming

A lane should have been provided for serious swimmers. There's ample room for everyone and no excuse for not putting in 1 lane.

No flume today staff shortage but I saw at least 5 in the area !!! OK health and safety but it's Family swim !!! No coffee machine staff don't know why apparently the company responsible tried to fix in the week obviously unsuccessful The water is cold for the younger children and the previous Saturday the most horrible stomach wrenching stinking changing area.A receipt is never offered the staff at the desk could try a smile now and again and check up on Non disabled people using blue badge spaces

Been to swimming this weekend. Changing area stinks. Drain is clogged in men’s toilet. Swimming pool is not clean as you feel dirt on your toes. Jumping, diving & swimming across is not allowed but staff cant be bothered. Steam room is tacky and feels like a horror movie scene. Never gonna get back there.

Been going here for a very long time. Equipment needs updating and it's now like a youth centre for teenagers. Not very well managed. However the reception staff are very welcoming and polite.

Had a swimming party at Garston Lifestyles. It was absolutely brilliant! The team there were great. Pool felt really safe - lots of staff members were in and around the pool (and party adults in the pool too as per the required ratios). The children loved the yellow slide and the big blue inflatable! It was a 7th birthday but there were children there from 3-10 and they all loved it. The room for afterwards was all ready for us - chairs and tables in place, and clean. I’ve recommended it to others. Brilliant organisation, thank you team Garston 🙌🙌🙌🤩

Really good stuff, the teachers here are way better than the aquatic. The only down thing is the showers they could do better with updating

  • 4/5 Colin & Kathryn G. 1 year ago on Google
A v. pleasant experience. We took our two grandsons principally for the water slide/tube and they had free entry as Lifestyles are giving that for children in the school holiday. The water was warmer than we had expected and, though crowded, it was great fun. One down-side: the pool building is VERY noisy and so conversation is difficult.

If you want to actually swim - forget it! Went on a Sunday at 12pm … big mistake. No lane for swimmers marked off so had to weave in and out of kids who don’t look where they’re going and splash everything in sight. Kids were jumping in at all sides of the pool and the lifeguards couldn’t give a care in the world. Saw numerous kids who couldn’t swim in the deep end struggling and again, nothing was done. 100% get its half term or Sunday and there’ll be kids and usually it isn’t a problem but at least one lane should be marked off for swimmers.

Always dirty. The changing area for the swimming pool is the dirtiest I have encountered anywhere in the UK. Also there are many swimmers here who enter the warm water without taking a shower so please consider wearing ear plugs to avoid infection.

  • 3/5 Shirley N. 2 years ago on Google
Pool was partially cordoned off and great singing for which way swimmers are to go, unfortunately people didn't follow this guide and lifeguards did not intervene so swimmers where bumping into each other.

  • 4/5 B J. 1 year ago on Google
It does what it says. It's a lifestyles gym, swimming pool, classes etc. It's pretty dated and could do with modernisation but like I said does what it says. Familiar with families and gym goers.

I am so pleased that Garston has made so much effort for the 4EverActive group from Speke to be able to have an exercise session for at least one day, because it means so much to the group. It will be nice to return to the centre at Speke and get back to our usual sessions. Special thanks to all the staff. Robert Kidd.

Friendly staff and a nice clean exercise area. The prices are good, though I haven't been in a while with lockdown and all that, being a university student doesn't give me much time either. Only issue was that it was almost always somewhat busy, though there are some quite times which I prefer when wanting to work out.

Great little swimming pool, took the kids and they loved it, baby splash pool with graduated slope/beach entry, a 0.65-0.8m toddlers pool, a waterfall link from there into the main pool, up to 1.8m depth, and a big fully enclosed water slide over the top of the pools. Spotlessly clean, water was warm, plenty of cubicles and lockers (returnable 20p piece needed for coin operated lockers). Will be back.

  • 5/5 Blue 2 years ago on Google
love the place! have been going since i was like 8, place still looks the same but that's a good thing as the layout is very nice. the pool starts shallow where kids go, then curves into a huge deeper part, the large pool has a part sectioned off for lane swimmers too. not to mention it has a steam room, sauna, and jacuzzi (have to be wearing a wristband for those tho ) one of the best things recently is the change of the lockers, it used to be a system were you buy a token from reception, put in inside the coin slot, then lock the locker and it would use the token up, meaning if you didn't lock it correctly the first time you would have to waddle your way in shorts back to the front desk while everyone looks at you and buy another token. this has now been replaced with a 20p returnable one, u put 20p in, lock it, and when you open it back up you get your 20p back, meaning you don't have to do the waddle of shame to the reception. great place and i highly recommend it

We only swim so can't comment on the rest of the centre but pool staff are always friendly and the pool is ideal for our needs with water that reduces to nothing. Small slide for the toddlers, bigger slide for older kids and adults and small area with jets. The token system for the lockers is great too as you now longer need coins but make sure you pick up more than one as you don't get them back, if you need to go back your locker for any reason you will.havr to go reception to get one
