(THIS HAMSTER CAGE IS NOT SOLD AT PETS AT HOME) Me & my partner went to this pets at home this week looking to home a Syrian hamster. We asked the staff if we could have a look at some hamsters and decided on what hamster we would take home, the lady very arrogantly asked if I already had a cage & I told her we bought the cage online, she then asked for a photo as some cages are not suitable which I agree, however the cage i showed her was the cage Iv listed in this photo & she completely refused to let me take a hamster home even tho this cage meets the minimum for a Syrian hamster with floor area 4074cm squared. After trying to explain this and showing her a photo of past hamsters in a similar cage she still completely refused to sell us a hamster as she said the cage is not suitable for a hamster and will basically have no entertainment. Iv done a lot of research on hamsters as Iv owned them for years. That woman who works there is willing to sell them tiny plastic houses as suitable cages but wouldn’t sell me a hamster. Silly woman knows nothing & shouldn’t be working there, I went to another pets at home and I showed my cage to another worker who was absolutely lovely and said our cage would be just fine for our hammy & so edge lane I would suggest you educate your staff on proper hamster care & attitude to customers. Pets at home in general only sell one cage which is the hamster heaven which meets the correct dimensions for a Syrian hamster

Best local Pets at Home. You can bring your dogs in. They have some pets in still - not rabbits but we saw rats and gerbils which need homes :( there is a really good selection of toys available, including extra strong ones. No queue and friendly staff.

Never felt so disrespected in my life. Went for puppy wormer basically got called a bad breeder and he’s getting red flags from me used this item before. So I knew to read the label told me I need to do this and that. When spoke to my vet. She laughed and said he’s has no clue what he’s on about. But. Bragging he paid for his licence to give out medication I didn’t have the puppies weighed today was made to as though I committed a serious crime ffs. Oh dear. And looking at the instructions he’s advised me to under dose the litter of pups. Perhaps he needs to read the instructions himself rather than accusing others of not doing it.

This Pets at home has the Groom Room - and the groomer is amazing!!! It was the best groom ever (her name is Lauren, but I'm sure the other groomers are good as well). You can book an appointment on the internet and pay a deposit of £15. If you want to wait, there are some restaurants around and good shops.

Great staff, very friendly and helpful. Went here to get my daughters first fish tank and they were very knowledgeable. Helped out with everything we needed and lots of advice.

Relaxed atmosphere..friendly helpful staff..lots of choice an sizes on products. One down point the dogs water bowl outside was dry an dirty..needs to be topped up regular an cleaned

Staff always friendly and on hand for advice, the dogs love going into the store but it is on the expensive side okay when you have offers with the VIP card but that's not often so not really sure why I have the card to be honest

The staff are so helpful. They really can't do enough to help. I am getting a little puppy l was not sure what l needed. I was taken right through what l needed. So friendly.

I'd called ahead to desperately try and find stock. I'd also spoken to other stores with no luck and not much interest in helping. Here I spoke with a very friendly, helpful man called Jamie who went out of his way to try and help and got me my item. To him it was probably nothing but to me it meant a lot. Thank you Jamie for going out of your way! It was very much appreciated!

Lovely store for all your pets needs, staff was really knowledgeable, friendly and approachable when I needed help regarding my cat, will definitely return.

Not as much selection as the bigger pets at home in Aintree but still very nice staff that are always happy to help. Great for dogs cats, not much stuff for reptiles.

I went in with my mum to get our biscuits for our dogs, we both get big bags (14kg) but I have a back injury and was struggling to pick up the bag and my mum had her own to carry. A gentleman who was working in the store saw and came and took the bag, offered to take my mums but she said she was okay, he carried it to the till, had it scanned and bought it out to the car for me without even thinking about it. I was very thankful for the help and it made our trip so easy.

Came in the other day and the baldy worker completely ignored me when i asked if there was any flea and tick collars in the shop. He then proceeded to say, “We don’t do hippo food here fatty.” Despite this i was quite satisfied with the store and its range of products but i don’t think i’d come back.

Always taking our saints for treats like toys to weighing them and normal socialising. Kids love the pets.

It's a Pet Store, quite "expensive" at that!!! If you become a "VIP" they promise, on-line, money off vouchers and of course, a (very small) % of each purchase, to the charity of "your" choice, from "their" list!! "LOL"!!! They use to give money off for purchases over £30, "not now", now it's all "promotions" of "groom room", "pet insurance", "vets for pets" and "obscure" pet food products, sold as "organic" of course!! But, they have your details now!!! I cannot recommend, but they do have "in-store" offers on occasionally, so it's worth a wander around if you are at the retail park!!

Came here yesterday to get some fish I got 3 cardinal tetras and have noticed today that one of them has two fungus spots on it so have to put it in a separate tank to not spread in my tank. I do find fish from here don't last that long whereas I have fish from other places and I still have them in my tank still healthy. Also hamsters I studied animal management and I can say the cages for hamsters pets at home provide are not big enough they only sell small ones so parents can buy them for their kids and It won't take alot of space up.

Very disappointed in the fish tanks in store corys gasping for air all hanging around the top of the tank. Remains of dead fish in the bottom of the tank. Dead fish stuck to filter Half dead or sick fish being nibbled on by other fish as no one is removing them Water flow in some tanks are nonexistent and need sorting as soon as possible Fish in tanks with no label or price Staff could not be seen until you leave the shop and had no time to listen.

Always very busy and you do have to wait to talk to staff for advice but once they become free they are so knowledgeable and helpful..1st puppy and didn't have any idea what to buy...the helpful lady talked us through the essentials and even give tips to help manage at night like freeze an apple after peeling and coring and give at night so if pup wakes they have something to nibble at. I was very happy with our experience. Pets at Home staff helped us so much. Made us aware of the VIP app that helped save us a fortune on our first puppy shop. Excellent service. Shop tidy and easy to navigate around.

We had a lovely shopping trip to the store to buy my pug a dog bed for Christmas yesterday. We were happy that Maggie (my pug) was able to pick her own bed out and we're really pleased with it. All the staff we spoke to were really friendly and helpful, especially Vicky- the lady at the checkout. Thanks for a great shopping experience and for the excellent customer service.. Merry Christmas to you all 😀
