It's hard for me to find a Mexican restaurant that doesn't make me sick from massive amounts of meat filler and/or Gluten. The nachos here were amazing; A huge portion. I had enough for dinner, and leftovers for lunch or dinner tomorrow. Drinks were pricy, but good. I'd definitely consider this a stop if you want a good meal, with a nice atmosphere. Seating - not a lot of booths, mostly tables. Service - we had a positive experience. Food took a bit to come out, but it was Valentines day and it was busy.

This place has delicious food! I ordered the monster burrito and it was huge. Our waiter was amazing, very attentive, and friendly. My kids ordered off the kids meal. They got a taco and an enchilada. Also, very large servings. No complaints what-so-ever.

Great atmosphere, food, drinks and service. We had ordered their margaritas and Grilled Vegetable Quesadillas. Complimentary chips and Salsa were served as soon as we were seated. The chips were super warm and the salsa was fresh. Our food arrived pretty quickly as well and was absolutely delicious. Loads of vegetarian options! I'd definitely be going back!

So good!! When my Monster Burrito came, I thought I was on an episode of Man vs Food! Lol. Everything was delicious. Drinks were good. Service was great. It was very busy but we were impressed with the service. Will definitely be returning.

Love this place! Always a good vibe whenever I go. The staff is super nice and we never have to wait a long time for food. The margarita flights is a must try. They are so delicious and they are strong. The chicken quesadilla are perfect. The grilled chicken has so much flavor. The Queso dip is very good. They give you so much food. The amount of food that is served could be shareable. They are always crowded on the weekends. But it’s worth the wait. The only thing I wish is that they played good music on the sit down side. I hear music. But I think it’s on the bar side.

Went here for dinner.. you can request to be added on their waiting list on their website. It took about 15 minutes and when we got there we were seated right away. They have high chairs for babies, which is good. We had a great server who continued to check on us throughout our meal and suggested items. The food tasted delicious. I ordered the fried mahi-mahi tacos and my husband ordered shrimp quesadilla. Both were delicious! They also give you free chips and salsa! I highly recommend!!

5/10/23 Well I have been to this, relatively new, Mexican restaurant three times so far and realized on today's trip that I had forgotten to share my experiences. All three times I had my best friend along (He had told me about the "New" restaurant we should try.) and all three times we had AMAZING food. The service was very prompt and attentive and the food came quickly, even during lunch hour. During the lunch rush there is often a wait, but not longer than 10 to 15 minutes. I have mentioned to staff members that I find it inappropriate that they reserve areas for large parties that often go completely unused through lunch hour. I have explained that those tables could be split up providing 6 additional places for customers to sit rather than save them for parties of 8 or more which I have yet to witness on my 3 trips. But, regardless of what I consider to be flawed management, this venue is VERY worthy of being enjoyed by all who love Great Mexican Cuisine. Rick Zorn

Food is amazing. Unfortunately, the ordering takeout process is frustrating. When we tried to order about two months ago they never picked up the phone. Ordered curbside and were told that they generally don't take phone orders because their system doesn't work well for it. My husband went yesterday to order food for my birthday and they told him they no longer take curbside orders and he had to call. It took him 4 tries to get through. Great food, just wish it was easier to order! The avocado salsa is great, my husband loves the fish tacos, and I love the tacos mexicanos.

My son and I were in town for a hockey tournament and he wanted a burrito. I looked up this place with not much expectations, coming from Chicago where there are excellent Mexican restaurants. This place blew me away!! Everything was fresh and delicious! Extremely large portions. I got the carnitas and the meat was seasoned perfectly. They were extremely busy and we got our food promptly. I was very happy

Las Palapas has the best house margaritas in southeast Michigan!! The food is always delicious and fast, with friendly service. Personally I recommend the Chori Queso appetizer and then Fajitas Tejanas as an entree. And of course their traditional house margarita! The salsa is mild by default but if you want hot salsa, just ask for it! Love this place since they opened, still love it years later.

Food was pretty good. Actually went to this restaurant because I heard about the margarita flights, but they said they took them off the menu. So that was very disappointing. The service was good and food was fine, but without the margarita flight it wasn't worth the hour plus wait to get seated. I would go back at a less popular time maybe.

Visited for the first time and really enjoyed. They were crowded but we were seated quickly. They have a great happy hour and almost any tequila you'd like available. Everyone was nice, staff was friendly and the food was good. The drinks are made well but are far from weak. I had birria tacos, rice and mexican corn, all of which I enjoyed!

As we enter the restaurant festive music 🎶 is playing. We were greeted with a smile and a very friendly welcome. It was about a 30 to 40 minute wait to get seated but we were offered immediate setting at the bar which didn't have many seats available. I had the Caren Asade Tacos 🌮. The food was excellent and served quickly with a smile. We will definitely be back

This place came highly recommended and I’m so happy we decided to give it a try. We went on a Saturday around 6/7pm, we were told the wait would be over an hour. It was surely busy, the bar and restaurant was full, people were thoroughly enjoying their food and drinks which made me even more excited! We loved the decor, the place was colorful and vibrant, it was noisy, the music was good, the people were having a good time enjoying their family and friends, can’t be mad at that! We ended waiting about 20 minutes which was a plus! Our food didn’t take long either. Valdo was our server, he was awesome! He disappeared a couple of times but we were drinking and chatting so it wasn’t a big deal. We had chips and salsa to start. They offer mild salsa but I wanted hot. The hot salsa was pretty good, very flavorful, the chips were good as well, I like that they were kind of thin. We started with the beef and chicken taquitos which were served with queso for dipping. The queso, whew!! So delicious! The meat in both was so tender!! For dinner I had birria tacos, delicious!!!! The meat was so tender it literally melted in my mouth! I couldn’t stop eating!! The portion was huge, I was able to take one taco home. I love that they have Tabasco sauce, that was a plus in my book. Now one complaint is that the consommé could have used more seasoning and flavor, it worked, especially since I had the Tabasco. My husband had the taco platter, the pork was delicious, the steak was awesome and the ground beef was amazing!! The rice was just ok, I haven’t had good rice from a Mexican restaurant in a very long time, therefore my expectations are low when it comes to the rice, I can actually do without it. Overall 10/10, we can’t wait to go back and try other dishes! The price was good too!!

YOU CAN NOT GO BY THE REVIEWS!!! I was on my way home from work and decided I wanted to get some good authentic Mexican food. So I google best Mexican restaurant near me this place pops up. I decided to go with it because it had a lot of stars and a lot of reviews. I order a monster burrito chimichanga two steak soft tacos two chicken hard tacos. They forgot my monster burrito and she claimed she didn’t hear me order it which is weird because she read me back my order. They gave me all hard tacos which is annoying because I really don’t like hard tacos I just wanted to try theirs. My food was cold, my Chimichanga was soggy NOT CRISPY AT ALL!! Overall I was very disappointed was excited to try this place . To be honest I feel like I was better off going to Dell taco or Taco Bell.

I order carne asada at every Mexican place I go to in order to determine who makes the best came asada in the Macomb County area and their's is definitely in the top 5. The margarita was weird. It was sparkling.

A little bit on the expensive side but definitely worth coming! They have a great variety of Mexican foods and offer a variety of meats and seafood options as well. The portions are good sized too. The staff are kind, knowledgeable, and efficient! This place is colorful with lots of decorations and also has a bar inside, so definitely recommend dining here!

Mixed Feelings at Las Palapas I recently had a meal at Las Palapas, sampling quite a few items on their menu. My experience was quite a mixed bag. The mushroom enchiladas were a standout, truly delectable with well-seasoned mushrooms and a satisfying sauce. The drinks too were refreshing and enjoyable, adding a positive note to the experience. However, the rest of the meal did not meet the same standard. The chicken in the quesadilla and fajita lacked flavor and was a bit dry. The nachos also fell short, with the chicken lacking the juiciness and robust flavor one would expect. Given the mixed experience, I think there's substantial room for improvement at Las Palapas. I encourage the chef to revisit the recipes and perhaps consider refining them. The potential is there, but the execution needs work. I hope to return in the future to a more consistent experience.

Delicious! Waitress was kind and quick! The fried avocado tacos were amazing! The drinks were tasty but didn’t seem to have any strength to them. All in all though great service and wonderful food!

My husband and I had dinner here while in Michigan. I was surprised at how busy the restaurant was at 4:30 on a Sunday. The hostess told us the wait would be about 30 and ended up being almost 50 minutes. That was all right with us as we sat at the bar and had margaritas. I requested a specific tequila and the bartender made us drinks in what is called a top-shelf shaker. The Shakers provided to short drinks for each of us and cost $16 each. We also ordered three shots of tequila out of a bowling pin bottle that cost $8 per shot. When we were called to our table a house margarita and chori queso appetizer. Our server, Tamara, was friendly and efficient. The house Margarita was just as good and not-so-sweet as a typical restaurant margaritas. The queso with chorizo was delicious. We shared the Fajita Tejanas for our main meal. It had a little bit of everything in it and was a perfect and for our dinner. I really liked that this restaurant serves house Margaritas to go in cans so that you can finish the party at home! Even though I felt like the drinks were a little expensive, the bartenders were very efficient and knew how to mix a drink.

First visit from out of town. Definitely worth a try. The food is good with large portions and the obligatory chips and salsa. My frozen margarita was delicious if light on alcohol, and the presentation was nice. I had the enchiladas supremas, which required a box to finish the next day. Just be aware, this place gets loud. But we had fun.

This was my first time here and would definitely be back!! I had the chicken and beef burrito combo I liked the chicken one better than the beef but overall enjoyed my food. The margarita flight was top tier I liked all flavors except the raspberry one but still felt good off of it and they were not expensive at all!!!!

Food very good. Only been here twice, but both times service has been really good. The food was outstanding. Okay so I felt the need to come and give a better review. I was just in on Thursday, with a large group of co-workers, while the wait was 25 minutes, the service we received from our server was really good. I have to give props to the food runners, he was carrying 8 plates at once. I was mind blown. As always the food was so good. Definitely recommend

Good Mexican vibe place. We ordered a couple of things. The cheese queso was not great. It was more milky than creamy and cheesy. The chimichanga was not crispy though taste was good. The best of all was the avocado fried taco. Flavors of the taco wax on point. Super tasty. They also did not have veg rice. The rice contains chicken broth so pure vegetarians do not have options for rice.

The food was amazing.. I was very impressed. And the grapefruit margaritas were sooo good. I don’t usually have high hopes for a great margarita.. they aren’t very strong at most places for the price but I was pleasantly surprised here. I will most definitely be back soon!

The staff was pleasant and friendly from the time you walk in until you leave. The menu is small but had many options. The food was delicious, and the portions were just right. Well except the monstrous burrito. It lived up to its name in size and taste. Easly enough to split an still have leftovers. I highly recommend Las Palapas.

The food here is pretty good. Although not the best Mexican I have ever had, definitely worth some return visits. The thing I like most about the restaurant is the atmosphere. They did an amazing job decorating the place! ¡Buen Provecho!

Great food and margaritas. The monster burrito is just that...it can really serve 2 and is delicious. Arrived on a Saturday at 4 and had to wait for a table at least 35 minutes but food came out fast once we got a table and ordered. Recommend making reservation if you can. Friendly and hardworking servers. Highly recommend.

If you're looking for great Mexican food in the Livonia area, this is the place you want to go to. Not that I've had a large variety of their food, but I have never had a bad meal. I would recommend their steak fajitas and also their cheese dip as an appetizer. If there's one criticism I have, it is that they've outgrown this location and there's always a wait, no matter what day of the week it is. I'm not sure what it's like nowadays during Covid, but I did get a take out the other week and it was delicious. You cannot go wrong if you're wanting great food, just prepare for a wait.

This place has amazing authentic food. My enchiladas verde were top notch. The restaurant was clean and precautions are in place for safe dining. I highly recommend trying it if you haven't been there yet, you will not be disappointed.

The food is great. My concern is that they need to get a better phone system. Tried calling for a half hr and kept going to voicemail. That will turn a lot of people to different restaurant if not fixed. Will give them one more try beforw i start searching other places.

Fantastic! I i paid 5 bucks too much for low tier marg but the females that be walking up in here give you thousand dollar views so it evens out.... they have an outdoor seating area and plenty of specials depending on which day you come in to eat. Food is priced accordingly and the atmosphere is great as long as you aren't sitting in your car waiting for a table to open up.

This place is hands down my favorite Mexican restaurant. Literally everything I’ve ever tried has been amazing. Chimichangas, border botana, fajitas, taco salads, margaritas, and the salsa. Pic below is of the fajitas with both chicken and steak. And in the background is the skillet nachos. So so good. Serving size as you can see if massive. The place is inexpensive, and the staff is always on top of things. I’ve ordered carry out from them a few times over the shut down, and have had nothing but good experiences.

Food is OK BUT the Carry Out is AWFUL. Three different times they forgot to give me the Food that I paid for!! Something told me to check the bags but didn’t do it. I can’t keep driving back there for their Mistakes. Check Your Bags Before You Drive Off. Might have to Drive a little further to Mexican Fiesta

  • 3/5 Victor S. 3 years ago on Google
The food is great, prices are reasonable, and service seems above average. Why only 3 stars?? Well, when you want to call in a carry out order, it's . 50/50 that they pick up the phone, which is super annoying. If they can fix that, I'll change my review to 5 stars

Had a birthday dinner here. Victor (owner of the establishment) was rude and disrespectful. He showed no professionalism for the customers that waited for over an hour. When asked how much longer the wait his response was “you just need to wait until they get up”. He attempted to go back and forth with me until i requested him to walk away from me. I was shocked and surprised that my server explain to me he was the owner. On top of everything the food was horrible. This was the worst experience ever. I will not recommend this place.

Great food. However, I drove 20 minutes each way to get a $57 order. We gave a $5 tip. Got home, no queso dip. Called up, said I really was inconvenienced and wanted the dip and a refund. When we arrived they said we could get either or, dip or a refund. We explained the logic didn't make sense. And asked if it made sense to lose a customer, repeat customer since they opened, over something that cost them $1 to make? They said it's policy. I took my dip and drove back home. Very disappointed in the customer service. We make it a point to eat local and help during this time, but that doesn't make it easy. Don't know if I will return.
