I am quite disappointed in the service I received today. I've been a loyal customer here at Hiša Pod Gradom restaurant, enjoying the offerings and quality. Especially as a restaurant offering student boni, it is quite nice. I've brought many, many customers here through personal recommendations. However, today I brought a party of six and we waited more than 30 minutes after our reservation. We were quite understanding and requested house wine while waiting without a table. Instead we were served a more expensive wine and we ordered quite a bit during the evening. Our waiter, David, was quite rude and disrespectful during the night. I did not find him professional. In the end, we were given a 98 euro bill. The price for wine was more than 2x the price of the wine we usually order, and believed we were ordering, and it was clear we were students ordering boni. It's even more frustrating to me because I've known some of the staff to be quite polite and friendly, knowing me well. I truly wonder if it's worth losing customers for one big check, when I've visited often and would have continued to bring more paying customers. Now I'm left with a negative feeling and interest in taking my business elsewhere.

One of the best restaurants I've ever visited. The pizza rolls are amazing, they don't drip oil like other places and after 3 of the 4 you get with each order you're already full, couldn't even fit any desert into my meal. 11/10 wpild recommend for anyone trying to get an amazing meal in Ljubljana

The apartments are very comfortable and location is great. Only a few meters away from Ljubljana downtown. We got the Apartment 4 (2 adults) and we were really comfortable. Lots of space and all good. The food at the restaurant downstairs is really good. The restaurant Personal and staff was really friendly. My only complaint would be that the television did not have enough channels for international guests as me. Just mostly European television but no Netflix or no movies. Or at least I would expect a smart TV in the room where I can watch movies from my smart phone 📱 . Other than that, our stay was very nice and I loved the fact that they provided us a parking card permit for the street (19€ per day) as it is a very central area and Parking 🅿️ is really limited in this area.

The food is yumm and big size. The vegan tofu has herbs and the taste is unique and delicious. The waiter was welcoming and the service was fast. We were so hungry that I didn't have time to take pictures. Will be back!

We went to this restaurant for a quick lunch. We ordered the daily soup, and for the main course we had gnocchi with truffle sauce and the Hiša burger. The gnocchi was delicious!! However, the daily soup was supposed to be a creamy veggie soup but the taste was not quite what I expected - the veggie flavour and the creaminess/thickness was missing a little bit. The burger was okay (not great -not terrible) but the french fries are not home made - it would be a lot better with home made fries ;) We had a nice time tho. The staff is nice as well.

Burger “Hiša pod gradom” hands down the best burger in Ljubljana. Smokey and tangy BBQ sauce, crispy bacon, nacho cheese and a properly seared patty, with a little caramelised onion. 10/10

Cozy little hotel between the old town and the castle of Ljubljana. The apartment was big enough for two couples. It was tidy and well decorated, the kitchen and bathroom had all the necessary utilities. It also has a restaurant downstairs.

I only ate here. Our waiter was extremely friendly and the food was very decent. A picky steak eater from our group was happy with what was served. The portion size of pork ribs is huge. Overall a cozy place that seems like a little out-of-the-way gem.

Generally a nice place to eat. They’ve got some great options on the menu. However, service was slow and our mains came out cold. Could be a lot better truthfully.

I’ve ordered the greek salad and its was a disaster. Salad for 10,90 looks like it was made from the left overs. Every vegetable in this salad was cut by a either blind or very unprofessional cook. Even the slices of onion were extremely big and shells were not separated. My friend also ordered a salad with a chicken and it was raw. We just threw our food and money to the trash can. Do something with your salads.

Some good Slovenian dishes. Out of the main tourist area so traffic but the terrace is still pleasant with good service and food.

Good restaurant with a mix of traditional and contemporary dishes. We visited it on an hot summer evening and wanted something cold instead of a heavy meat dish. Unable to find such an offer, we ordered a pizza roll with truffles and a goat cheese salad. They were tasty, but nothing special. Would recommend to groups with diverse food preferences.

My partner and I were here only for diner, and it was very good! The staff was welcoming when we came in wet from the storm of this week. We wanted to finish our vacation with a traditional Slovenian meal and this was the right place for that. Both the goulash and the local sausage were excellent, so were the desserts. The waiter was friendly and had good suggestions. All around a nice experience that I would recommend

Location is pretty bad, there is no parking we were looking for one for 20 minutes. The toilet situation was pretty bad as well the men's and women's is in the same room. The service was pretty nice. The food was all right it was nothing special. Overall I would give it 3/5

nice restaurant in a quiet part of the city. the location is not the best because it’s a bit distance from the city center. the staff is really friendly and nice but the service was pretty slow. the food is very good, especially the traditional dishes. there are many gluten-free options available (the allergens are marked on the menù)

I was here on the 22/7 and it was amazing! Great service and really well tasting food to a decent price. We got shots and they were on the house! Awesome. Will definently come back if I’m in Slovenia again 👍🏼

We were on a compay dinner but… I was very dissapointed, they will never see me again for sure! Stuff was unfriendly, we all had a feeling that we are not welcome, for every new bottle of vine we had to wait for a long time with empty glasess. Even tho we had reservation they kicked us out when we finished our meal. I have to say that this was the first time in my life that I was kicked out of restaurant, I’m really dissapointed. The food was an average quality, collegue got cold and raw potatoes. Service was under expectation, we had to help staff to put everything on the table, when they served the first bottle of vine the waiter spilled some wine on a table and on my trausers, they don’t know how to use serviete on a bottle. The mens toaletes are really small, only one person fits in the pisoar, even tho there are two. If you are a smoker you can’t go anywhere to smoke, even outside you dont have ashtray so people leave cigarets everywhere To conclude, our dinner was a big dissapointment.

Very good restaurant, with a good mix of traditional and non traditional Slovakian dishes. I had the sausage cooked in beer, with gnocchi and mushroom cream sauce. This was a very good dish, and there the price was really good for the portion of food received.

Went to this place as a part of a guided wine tour and had one of the most delicious dishes in my life. Also they have a wide choice of great Slovenians wine.

Excellent pica roles with Nutella and strawberrie sauce ! Very consistent, perfect for breakfast and lunch ! The boss and waiter are super friendly and the place really pleasant warm, with chill music on the morning. I recommend this place 100% ! Cheers from France 🇫🇷

My partner and I made a quick stop here on our travels for the pica roles (expecting pizza rolls). While the dough is really top level, pica roles include mozzarella and no tomato sauce anywhere - just as a note to people. We both took the mozzarella-spinach roles, and those were 99% mozzarella rolls with some 1% spinach sprinkled here and there.

Nice place to stay. The rooms are clean and the bathroom is huge. The location relative to the center is very good. There are parking places around, but they are paid. The food in the restaurant is not bad, but there are much better places to eat in the city.

Big meals, full of different tastes, little bit fat, but very good with a beer or two. Free digestive good night drink was a lovely surprise. Dogs welcome.

The location itself is nothing special. Also the food. I really reccomend the pork with cheese and bacon. Don't have the ribs, they are nothing special. If you go it' definetly the best place for pizza rolls. You gotta try the tartufi with prsutto and the horseradish with egg. To die for

Definitely touristy, but nonetheless good food to enjoy. You get draught beer and something like traditional slowenien food. You probably don’t find anything else in the capitol than this and here they are very nice. So, why don‘t visit, it‘s a nice thing.

I ordered Wolt delivery, pizza rolls came in a nice package, the portion size was big enough and the food was delicious. The food was still warm, when it arrived, but it could be a bit warmer, if not hot.

Great place for dinners in pairs or goups of friends. The food is taisty and feels like home cooking. The only issue is parking becuse it isn't free. Their selection of wines and food is amazing for any gourmet.

The restaurant has student boni for years, but they somehow do not like serving students?! They are ignorant and impolite towards those who choose to use the student coupons in their above mentioned restaurant. Makes no sense, since the meal is paid both by the student and by the state, so they do not lose anything, indeed they have a full restaurant because they do have boni. We got a totally disrespectful behavior from the same waiter. Both times this year, I was served by the same person, that was both impolite and rude. The food is great, but I suggest they work with their staff and teach them some basic manners and respect. Won't be coming back until they do.

This is a great little gem in the east of the city, just past the castle. It’s a hotel, but with a restaurant downstairs, and with some excellent food. I had the goulash which was without a doubt the best goulash I’ve had. A great depth of flavour to it, although the dumplings didn’t have much flavour to them and didn’t add much - needed a bit of salt. But very filling and all great for the price! I had to try the traditional Slovenian dish for dessert ‘Prekmurska Gibanica’ which has poppy seeds, cottage cheese, a kind of pastry and nuts inside. It’s ermm… an acquired taste I suppose, but wasn’t really for me. But it was beautifully presented and I’m glad I tried it.
