It is a huge pleasure for me to send this email. We chose Allegro hotel when planing a trip to Ljubljana for a special family occasion. We loved the deco and the location was perfect. As we were a group of 8 adults traveling we emailed the hotel to request accomodation to suit all 8. The response was so helpful and received prompt correspondence reassuring that we would all be accommodated. On arrival at the hotel we were welcomed by Thomas who offered us complimentary drinks of our choice while he checked us all 8 into 4 different rooms. It was Thomas first day at the reception but he was efficient and friendly. Every morning Sara met us at breakfast with a smile and offering a warm breakfast. She was extremely helpful in arranging a stunning birthday cake for us which arrived at the Hotel on the day. It was delicious!! Thank you Sara! Through out our stay Joel was very helpful in making bookings for us for dinner in lovely restaurants, advice and inform about the city and sites. Nothing was too much for Joel and he made our stay so enjoyable. Our flights were cancelled for 24 hours and again all 8 of us were accommodated at the hotel without any inconvenience on short notice. The rooms are warm, clean, large and comfortable. We loved the deco and the location but it was all the friendly staff at this hotel who made our stay memorable.

Place was cozy and homey, charmingly decorated. Staff was super friendly and attentive. Top location, just a few steps away from the river. The room was comfortable and big enough, but I missed having a shelf in the bathroom.

What a beautiful hotel! Well located in Ljubljana. The service was excellent, and everything was made easy for me (drop off to airport in the morning was organised by the hotel). Comfortable room. Amazing breakfast. I only stayed one night. Wish I stayed longer. Hvala lepa!

Our room (queen + 2 single beds) is great. They should, however, service the AC fan, which is loud. Thankfully, we could turn it off at night. I've seen other reviews complaining about it: I'm removing a star for this The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Be aware that the hotel is in the pedestrian only area of Ljubljana. The hotel pointed us to a parking lot 400m away on Zoisova at Emonska.

Lovely service. The guy behind reception is brilliant and offers truly authentic and genuine service. He is a star. Hotel is very well situated and easy walking distance to everything, although that's generally the case in Ljubljana. Hotel is quaint. Nice traditional building and makes a change not being a chain style and ultra modern place, but this comes with its drawbacks. It is definitely not accessible so if you have any disability it will be a struggle. Bedroom was small and twee. Bathroom was disappointing and shower quite dangerous to get in and out of. Room had eaves and was not much wider than the (small) double bed so it was tight and you had to be careful at night to not bump your head if you needed to get up to use the bathroom. Certainly wasn't as spacious, with the additional seating area shown in the photos. Breakfast was very tasty and plentiful and again the service was superb. 10/10 to the staff working there and thanks for your warm welcome.

Lovely boutique hotel. The decore was quaint. It is in walking distance of everything in the center. The setting clean and the staff very personable and helpful. It has all the amenities in a lovely setting. The courtyard breakfast area was very nice, suggestive and well set up. Our stay was pleasant, we enjoyed our room and the facilities were clean and modern. A definitely nice place to stay. We had a small problem and the young man at the desk was very available. He helped us with a sense of humor and politeness. A very positive experience.

This is not a 4 star hotel. This is barely a *motel*. Because of the fact that they are the only hotel around, they let themselves act the way they want to. When we first arrived they gave us a dirty room. After that we wanted to add an additional meal, and they asked us specifically to order in advance. When we arrived to the dining room they said they were sorry because they are out of the food that we asked for. They offer a soda as a compensation. We are vegetarians, so they brought us a canned soup and than a pasta with canned peas and canned carrots. This canned meal costed 30 CHF per person! Breakfast was not very good and when we wanted to make coffee when it wasn’t breakfast time, we needed to pay 4 CHF, which is very convenient according to the fact that there is no fridge or kettle in the room. The price of this hotel is not reasonable according to the food and the service.

Great location and lovely staff. Room was a little dated and we had room 11, which has a slope on 2 sides so mind your head! The Allegro however is a very charming, welcoming and cosy place, with a pretty decent continental breakfast, so for a short break in Ljubljana I would certainly recommend.

This hotel is great for its location, friendly staff and its historic setting. I use jt a lot for my business. However parking is a problem as there are only two spots available. Also there is no elevator which can be a problem for someone... Anyway, just alone for friendliness I highly recommend it. 😊

Great location and friendaly staff but unfortunately the bed and linings not. The bed only had a thin fitting sheet on top of the mattress. The towel was also very thin small and dried outside so it was extremely hard. It bothers me because the hotel is old but nice and getting nice linings is not that expensive.

Generally okay service with some flaws: - breakfast could be on a nicer side (it is rather poor (law end products) with close to non local specialties and really horrible coffee); - electric sockets are also basically available only with cable extensions; - there’s no central heating so the room utilized an electric radiator with a fan, which makes noise and tricky to control; - also I personally seriously doubt the 4-starness of a place as e.g. according to German/Swiss standards. I would personally say it is an okay 3 star place in an old Bildung with all of the consequences. So enjoy.

The front desk staff here were very friendly, the hotel is very centrally located in a beautiful area. The hotel room was nice, with nice views of the courtyard and church. Things we weren't too impressed by, however, were the extremely scratchy towels, the lack of refills at breakfast and the seemingly absent housekeeping staff. 3 stars for location, large room and friendliness of staff.

Nice hotel with a pleasant courtyard for breakfast and comfortable rooms. The breakfast here was very nice, and we appreciated the pear brandy as a welcome. Ljubljana is a wonderful city to visit, with warm people and a great history. We toured much of Croatia and Slovenia, and Ljubljana was one of our favorites. Our one downside: this hotel really needs to have some lot, somewhere, to refer guests to park at. We asked by email, but received no clear reply. We were left to guess at which city lot to park in. Beware that if you arrive with a car, Ljubljana is a confusing city to park in. Other than that minor detail, we recommend the hotel and highly recommend the city.

We stayed one night at Allegro Hotel in August and I have to say this is a great place. The hotel is historic and quite small with only 12 rooms, but Room 12 we got has four beds for our family on the top floor and it didn't feel small. The staff was friendly and told us about the market on our arrival so we didn't miss the opportunity to try all the great food on the Friday evening. The staff also helped us bring our luggage from where we parked a few hundred meters away from the hotel since the street in front of the hotel is closed for vehicles. Plus the rooms has AC so it was cool even in August.
