The
gardens
are
absolutely
stunning,
some
of
the
best
we've
seen
and
well
worth
a
visit
but
we
were
disappointed
in
the
house
which
is
almost
empty
of
any
original
pieces
-
purely
as
a
result
of
the
family
history.
Beyond
the
excellent
military
section
there
is
very
little
to
see.
We
are
members
of
the
National
Trust
so
entry
was
free,
but
we
would
have
been
very
disappointed
had
we
paid
to
see
the
house.
To
add
to
the
general
feeling
of
justification,
there
are
major
plumbing
works
going
on
inside
the
house
and
the
decor
is
in
need
of
updating.
The
cafe
is
at
the
entrance
and
the
top
of
a
long
walk
down
to
the
house,
so
this
makes
a
return
for
lunch
an
option
for
the
fit
only.
There
is
a
small
kiosk
selling
mostly
ice
cream
by
the
house
entrance
-
tea/coffee
is
available
but
no
food
so
I
would
advise
taking
packed
lunch.
The
acres
of
sloping
lawns
are
magnificent
but
a
magnet
for
little
ones
to
run
and
roll
down
-
great
fun
but
very
noisy
on
school
holidays!
The
toilets
were
run
down
and
not
very
clean
-
very
unusual
for
an
NT
property.
I
have
given
the
property
4
stars
solely
for
the
amazing
gardens.
