We weren't sure what kind of pub it was as from the first impression it seems well loved. But it has the loveliest bar tender and a good selection and wine, beer and cider. Including my favourite Henry Weston which you don't see on tap often. Would be back for the warm welcome alone!

We stayed here for a couple of nights recently. First impressions weren’t brilliant as there was only one lady trying to serve a busy bar but once she was free she made us very welcome. The room was spotless and the bed comfortable. We weren’t expecting air-con but a fan would have been a pleasant addition. We had arranged to meet boating friends in the town so were unable to try the food. However, we had drinks in the afternoon and evenings where the choices were good and the staff, excellent. We did wonder about noise from the bar disturbing our sleep but the bar didn’t stay open late and the punters gently eased out. Would we go back, you bet.

Stopped off here after a hike and enjoyed a meal and few pints, which were very good. Meals were spot on and the service was with a smile and very good. Reasonably priced and plentiful, will be back for sure.

Excellent homemade food, the steak and Guinness pie was bursting with meat and tasted amazing, plenty of chips and peas! My wife had the hunters chicken and couldn't compliment the meal enough. Very friendly staff especially the chef. Great visit all round

Went for lunch, asked for tuna mayo toasty. Never seen anything like it. Plate full of sloppy tuna mayo. The chef didn't bother to drain the tuna therefore the toast was soggy . Took it back and the bar staff bought another plate out. The chef had emptied a tin of tuna onto the plate without draining it and a big blob of mayo at the side, no toast this time. The chips had soaked up all the water from the tuna. Took it back and walked out. Will never go there again

Wow, was totally minding my own business having food and a drink when a random bloke asked me if I could move his dogs water bowl to another part of the pub. I politely declined and he asked me if I was a local, I said no, he called me a kn£&b head! I was then told I wouldn’t be served again by the girl behind the bar. He then stares at me until everyone else including me in the pub left after feeling totally intimidated by the man. Very strange. Will I come back, not now thanks.

Unfortunately not the best experience. Long queues to order and pay (expected as it was busy) but the lady taking the order was rude and offhand. 2 of the 4 burgers were undercooked but that was immediately rectified when they were told. The young girl serving was lovely.

Whenever we are in Llangollen, we always stop here. Friendly staff cheap beer, and the food is really good and priced amazingly. £11 for half a roasted chicken and veg, come you can't get an cheaper than that an it was so noice an tender just the way I like it.

Booking in was a bit of a faff because of a computer issue. Friendly helpful staff. Room 4 was basic, clean and quiet std. size double bed.

We didn’t spend the night but popped in for dinner. Even though the kitchen was just about to close, they stayed open a limitless late just so we could order dinner. Very kind and friendly service, great atmosphere, and yummy food.

Amazing location just over the bridge ( hence the name I guess) there was initially the one girl serving and it was very busy. She did an amazing job kept smiling laughing with everyone til the bar queue subsided. Once served buffet food from an event was brought down for all the customers to share which was such a blessing as we were starving! Can confirm the buffet food was impeccable the lemon batter fish bites are truly gorgeous! We had several drinks mingled with the locals exchanging holiday stories staff were in n out constantly retrieving glass and such, joining in the conversation at times. Which all made for a really enjoyable evening.

We came for sunday lunch, it was not good, couldnt cut through the beef and took forever to chew, wont be going again, waitress was very nice about it, i did not want a refund or replacement i was so hungry i was happy to carry on eating, i just wanted to let them know, felt like the woman behind the bar was very frosty when we went to pay when she asked us how our meal she gave no response to what we said, gave back our change and said nothing at all, not even goodbye, it was very rude and uncomfortable, excuse my expression BUT she had a face like a smacked a**

I arrived for food and drinks last night at 6.30pm for the first day of our caravan holiday. We ordered food at approx 6.45 and was told there would be a wait of about 30 minutes as they had a big table of 12 people booked in at 7pm. That was fine and ordered 2 main meals of scampi and burger and planned to have a drink while waiting. Other tables around us that arrived from 7.30pm were served food before our meal finally arrived at 8.15pm. Can’t believe one table of 12 meant no other food was served to other customers. They received their starters and mains before we received our meals despite ordering before they did. Very disappointed with quality of food when it did arrive, deep fried frozen food. The service we received from staff was non existent. Won’t be back ☹️

Fabulous Sunday lunch the waitresses were very attentive and it is such a lovely chain to not have pub chain food at the table. Starters were beautifully presented and plentiful, we have Turkey and beef regular lunches which came with roast pots and Yorkshire pud or stuffing and pib, separate dish then for veg and a gravy boat. Good selection of beers also. 2starters, 3 regular meals, 4 pints of beer, a glass of red wine and a G&T under £75, so £25 each - excellent value for the quality of food. Lovely interior loads of books and cranies to sit in Enjoy
