Hotel looks like no maintenance has been done in a very long time. Visually not very appealing. Half of the rooms have a view at the cemetery. Door to my room was getting stuck and shower didn't work properly. It is not something you would expect in a 4* hotel, is it?

The worst holiday I have ever had in my life. Me my wife and my son all got food poisoning from the food and the food was horrible there was nothing good at the buffet the staffs were incredibly rude and the staffs hardly knew any English and I couldn’t understand anything they said so whenever I had a question the would be no answer. When I needed something they would always point me to the wrong direction, they was no drinkable water unless it’s the tap from the toilet tap which is disgusting the room was so small and there was no fridge no kettle, nothing but a tv which is broken the safe was also broken so I had to carry all my cash everywhere I went, everything was horrible the experience was a little below average only because the shops were nice and the swimming pool but it was just a regular swimming pool you can get it anywhere. Overall experience everything was a 1 star never coming back not even for free

Its a good basic hotel, not sure about the 4 star rating though. The aircon is not very efficient, wifi was intermittent but not too bad overall. Rooms were cleaned every day . Service staff were friendly. Buffet was basic but things offered were nice. Night entertainment can last till midnight do if u are a light sleeper u might have an issue. Overall our family enjoyedcthe stay.

Rooms were clean and tidy. Everything we needed. Toilet blocked but reported it to reception, returned from the beach and it was done. Food was good variety to choose from catering for everyone. Location walking distance to shops and 10minute walk to fennel beach which was lovely. Only downside it was noisy in the night and early morning with teenagers but manageable and not a deal breaker for a weekend stay..

I would not recommend this hotel. I booked here with Onthebeach. On the night I got there, we (4 adults) were given room 208, the rooms are nothing like the pictures they show online, there was one double bed and one single bed and a CHILDRENS bed for 4 adults, we went down to have this changed or get a room change, but they said they couldn’t do anything and we’d have to cope. Next day, they put the children’s mattress under the bed and got a slightly bigger mattress. The worst thing was, I had to sleep on the children’s bed, and after a few days i saw that I had bumps all over my body, they were bed bug bites, I was VERY disappointed. Secondly, the food was not it!!! it was so bad, only eatable thing was the fries, and cakes, hot drinks during the mornings were the only good things. The hotel rules were not followed by other people staying, way past midnight around 3am there were other people making very loud noises and staff did not tell them to stop until we had called multiple times. Bathrooms also had no locks on the door. The wi-fi was horrible, never worked, does not work at all in the eating area, was very disappointed with the hotel overall. The cleaning staff were very kind. The hotel area was luckily surrounded by stores and fast food places/restaurants, the city centre was also very close by like a 5-10 minute walk with 2 very beautiful beaches nearby.

DON’T USE THE CASINO MACHINE IN THIS HOTEL! The bar staff robbed me! I won €21 but the machine froze and I couldn’t get it out - so I asked the bar staff (there were 5 of them) and all of them said they didn’t know what to do and I should just put more money in, so I asked them to open it to get my money that I’d won; they said they couldn’t. I then sat outside and saw one of the bar staff open the machine and take my money while laughing and talking to the other staff, as I approached him he tried to hide the money and scurry away from me. I said have you got my money out and he said yes, so I said give it to me then and he said no. They robbed me of €20! The reception and restaurant staff were also very rude

We went for a weekend to relax with no intention to leave the hotel so spa, gym and food were the main points. Gym has no basics such as weights or mats. Not sure if can call it a Spa an indoor pool with a tiny jacuzzi and sauna on extra costs, strange schedules and limited access. Food was below average. Room which seemed to be clean until you have a closer look to notice finger prints and hair everywhere also had smell of cigarettes. However, all of the above could have not been as tragic and compensated by hotel staff being nice and friendly which was not the case because everybody was too occupied to do a bare minimum. The only staff who smiled or even said good morning was a lovely young lady by the restaurant entrence. Thanks to her. Overall hotel is reasonably priced and you get what you pay for, but don’t set your expectations high.

I arrived at 12:15pm check in I went up to my room which was an okay size balancony and double bed at 12:45pm I went down for lunch came back my room door was open And my items were missing (charger ; bank cards and euros) I asked the man at reception to check cctv he said he would 2 hours later after chasing it up and calling the police who never arrived . He told me no one had been in my room this was clearly a lie 🙄 The spa was okay had a lot of children in it you only have access for 45 minutes before your asked to leave. The buffet was okay Worldly dishes but everything was cold had to use a micro wave. The entertainment was okay mainly aimed at elderly and hardly anyone spoke English so I felt left out completely. Staff was rude and unhelpful with my situation I don’t think I’ll ever be coming. I wasnt even there an hour before I was robbed.

Pavement just outside the entrance to the hotel ie bus drop off point the road was very damaged, uneven surface caused me to fall on my decent from the bus. Driver apologised. Dangerous my foot is very badly bruised and sore.

Very nice and clean hotel. Good service. Excellent food. It is surrounded by lot of shops, fast food restaurants and big supermarket. The Fenal beach is about 7minutes from the hotel. Center of the city, bars and discotheques are about 10 minutes away from this hotel.

Didn't like the look of this hotel at first. Thought the reception looked dated , it was noisy, and the staff seemed a bit stressed when checking us in. The room was also a bit dated and in need of a refurb. The balcony view was to the back and faced a cemetery. But as the days went on, we were glad of the quiet balcony and had a walk thru the cemetery that came out near the lidl. We didn't realise at first that there were 2 sides to lloret we walked to the beach on the right of the hotel. Its more quiet, but had a few nice bars and restaurants but to the left, after a 10 mins walk brings you out onto a totally different place, more cafes , shops, hotels , similar to Benidorm in parts. Also a good bus station with regular cheap buses to Girona , Tossa etc. so the hotel is well situated for both sides of lloret. And on the whole, We never had any problems, our room was always cleaned, every day , fresh towels and bedding. There are 2 pools to choose from, 6 lifts, the restaurant was busy but well organised. food was OK. No kettle in the room. But a powerful hairdryer, good TV with 5 English channels. We would stay there again.

Found moldy bread on day 3 of our holiday. To be fair they were horrified that it had been served. An took the bread an changed it immediately. But a 4 star hotel shouldn't have this happen. And none of the food is properly labeled. So if you have an allergy to certain ingredients your choices would be limited. Bree on burger buns is a poor effort at a meal they also had sesame seeds on so if you had a nut allergy your honna need your eppy pen. What looks like pasties cut up. With no explanation of what's in them. And mystery meat I later found out was rabbit. The staff were fantastic. Just the food wasn't up to the same standards I've received whilst staying in other hotels in the area.

Lovely place. Can be quiet at times depending on what part of the town you go to. Hotel was nice and child and disabled friendly. Plenty of lifts. 2 outdoor swimming pools and 1 indoor swimming pool. Friendly staff. Nice food. Plenty of activities to do during the day.

Don't know where the 4 stars have come from it's 3 at best. I'd have to say to ignore all the horror stories reviews that are listed here, the place is sound enough, breakfast and lunch menus are the best on offer with the all inc. Evening meal can be a bit poor at times. A silly card system in place for drinks and meals that just take up time and seem pointless.tea and coffee machines seem to be on offer for breakfast only and covered down at all other meal times.staff mostly seem fine to deal with. Corridors tend to echo every door opening or closing and most conversations held in them are heard through in to the rooms. With all that said, for the money paid we're happy enough with our stay overall.

Horrible! We were part of a large group and arrived to a grimy room with cigarette holes in the sheets. Advertised as having a “sea view”, we had an unappealing view of a concrete junk yard from our balcony. The shower flooded multiple times and the tasteless design of the rooms made it uncomfortable and un enjoyable. The food is also terrible. Whilst there is a lot on offer, most of it was tasteless so living off ice cream from the freezers was a better option. A friend who I stayed with has a severe nut allergy which she is rightly paranoid about, and when she asked the chef if it contained nuts he laughed in her face as if he couldn’t have cared less. Absolutely ridiculous hotel. It ruined our entire trip.

Just returned from my week away in Spain staying at this hotel and I must say it was great and enjoyed my time away 1) room was big and had everything you need tv shower or bath towels and good size tv with English Chanel’s 2) food was great have great chooses even vegan options that was taste and I’m not vegan 3) pool and game room spa all good size and in the heat a great comfort 4) staff was always super friendly and chatty even with my little knowledge of Spanish always so helpful cleans always send good morning, Bar staff always chatting the night way with you and helping you get taste drinks 5) you have two choices of beach’s llort that’s a ten min walk or fenal that’s a 5 min walk I myself could not fault anything wrong with the hotel was worried after reading some review before going but that worry what after the first day like think this hotel is great and you got to remember you get what you pay for :)

Before I start I need to say that I would be more than happy to return the the Royal Star anytime, the faults I found were minor but worth a mention and the negative reviews were unfair in my opinion. The hotel uses a card system for it AI service rather than a band which is a good idea in theory (and doesn't hinder the sun tan!) but they also give you a card for a glass each at the bar which they take off you sometimes. We had about 20 when we went home and never understood the purpose of them. The rooms are tired and need an update, especially the bathrooms with the awful shower curtain that sticks to your body (and doesn't stay in the bath) There's washing lines above the bath (with rusty fittings) which I also found strange BUT one of the best powerful showers I've ever had away from home. Free shampoo and shower gel replenished every day, clean towels every day (Only big enough to cover a child but that's normal in my experience!) . Beds were really hard but didn't kill us and bedlinen was clean. Mattresses had waterproof pads on them which I found VERY uncomfortable in the heat and often woke up in a puddle of sweat. Centrally controlled AirCon which was OK but ideally I would have liked it cooler. You have to pay for a fridge which I wasn't impressed with either. Cleaners were excellent though and visited every day. Food was a good standard for an All-Inc and the only night we had to eat elsewhere was seafood night but that's just personal taste. They encourage you not to waste so there's a lot of little pots with food in (sometimes unrecognisable!) like tapas but no description of its contents except the protein. Always some meat cooked fresh on the grill (Pork chops were gorgeous) and a huge pan of paella. There's always chips too....quelle surprise....... The drinks machines in the dining room are horrendous and hardly ever work. There was only 1 bar open which to be honest looked like my local working mans club. Local Drinks were Ok, certainly did their job and the beer is Estrella so can't fault it. Cocktails available free and slush at an extra charge. Bar staff were lovely in the most, although a couple of them would benefit from a customer service course! Entertainment was pretty cringey but as there wasn't many people to entertain I can only hope it's better in high season. We avoided it most nights. Pool area kept clean but you weren't allowed to go out before 10am which I found ridiculous as I'm an early riser and lost a couple of hours sun every day. They originally said no drinks around the pool but everyone ignored that because it was silly. Lots of rules i.e. no inflatables, no diving, no jumping, no swimming (I made that one up!!) so if you're an Olympic diver or synchronised swimmer then it's not for you but I'm happy bobbing. Summary. It was a budget holiday and worth every penny. Came home (to the rain) with a big smile on my face so can't ask for more.

I was staying at the Amaika Hotel and visited this place with some friends I made whilst there. I used the pool and enjoyed practising my diving, the lovely life guard gave me some tips which really helped. He also engaged with the other pool users very pleasant experience despite only being at this hotel for a few hours. Thank you

Only let down was noise coming from other rooms/guests. Walls must be paper thin and marble type floors meant we could hear everything from all sides. Not great after 4am in the morning. Hotel itself and rooms where clean and good size. All Inc was a good standard with plenty of choice and plenty of it.

  • 3/5 Kevin B. 1 year ago on Google
Staff friendly. Nice entrance. Indoor pool gym and sauna very nice. Two outdoor pools look well maintained. Rooms clean and comfortable. Walls a bit thin you can hear the uncaring loud mouthed brigade when they erupt usually when full of booze and then spend their day in bed. ....not the hotels fault as some visitors may think. Great selection of food and cooked to high standard. The outer facade could do with a spruce up but I can understand after two years of lockdown and restrictions I imagine most hotels are trying to recoup their losses. This is day 3 of our stay and I am happy.
