My daughter has been practicing martial arts for several years and we count TDF gym as a second home. The class options and caliber of instruction are fantastic and the sense of community is unrivaled. It doesn't matter if you've been coming for years, or just walked in the door, you'll feel accepted. The instructors are the perfect balance of kind, patient, and dedicated to helping students of any age push themselves to the peak of their potential. All instructors are Safe Sport certified, and have basic or advanced first aid training. The Judo club is recognized and registered with USA Judo, and has many athletes that compete in events around the nation, and have been or are ranked nationally, as well as qualify and compete internationally. Which is a testament to the quality of instruction. The Tae Kwon Do and Hapikdo classes are thorough and rigorous, and registered as well. We personally don't attend the other offerings, but it's easy to see they are just as top tier. Many students participate in multiple disciplines. Being able to attend any/all classes offered is an amazing opportunity. The TDF owners and staff genuinely care about every person who walks through their doors. This sense of stewardship is passed down to athletes of every age, and is evidenced by the willingness of the older youth athletes volunteering to help mentor and train with new, younger students, as well as the fact that adult members that have moved away regularly return to practice and support the team. If you want a place where your children can be active, build confidence, and be a part of a community, TDF is the best choice in the valley. And if you're an adult that wants to get a work out that pushes your limits, while taking your martial arts skills to the next level, or learn them for the first time, you'll find a home here. From first time beginners of all ages, to life long students, there are classes to fit your needs.

My son received about 5 seconds of instruction during the trial class and then immediately was thrown into sparring amongst other more experienced kids. My son is no wimp, but he came home very upset. He should not have been allowed to spar, especially during an intro class and only if he wanted to participate in the sparring. I would have expected the Sensei or his Student Instructors to take the new kids to the side and explain things to them, do some extra training or 1 on 1 instruction to make them feel welcome and confident about the class. The class also had about 40 kids and it's quite impossible from my perspective to manage a class that size with varying skill levels and very few instructors. Not impressed. I'll be taking him somewhere else.

A place of high expectations and achievement: There is a structured, consistent, and predictable learning environment for all students. Students are divided into various classes by belt rank, ensuring each student gets the focused help they need to grow. Students expectations are posted and reinforced with positive teaching. Discipline is taught through positive methods like modeling, specific praise, and social-emotional lessons plans. New students are welcomed and invited to participate as much or as little as they choose. There is no pressure. Parents are encouraged to stay and watch. The older students are kind and patient to newer students. They work hard to make new students feel welcome. TDF has both casual students and High performing competitors. There are students competing in National or International level events and ranked on the US or World rosters. Students are encouraged to be self-determined learners, by goal setting and focusing on choice, ownership, and positive accountability.

My daughter adores TDF gym and her Sensei. Not only is she learning a great martial art, but she is learning the life long lessons that he takes the time to teach her. I've had days where I just sat and watched because I knew I could use the life lessons too! Wonderful gym, friendly staff. Feels like one big family ❤

At TDF, you'll find the best people to mentor you in your martial arts goals. The instructors #1 goal: help you achieve your goals. You won't find a place more respectful, but who will still teach skill at the highest levels.

I am and have been an instructor here at Top Defense fitness here for about over a year now. I can without a doubt say from the bottom of my heart that the training and the knowledge you get from coming is top notch. We have multiple class to fit everyone’s interests if need be. Coaches/Fellow instructors. that I have interacted with is very personable and very outgoing. I would give TDF Gym more than 5 stars. Thank you.

Took my boys n to try out some of their classes and they really loved it. The coaches and trainers have been fantastic. The older students really jumped right in to teach the new kids. Each chidn was included and taught at their level and really brought in as part of the class. I've already had my friends kids come and they have loved it to. My boys have had so much fun and I'm looking forward to coming back again.

Excellent teachers with multiple years of experience in many different martial arts! Staff is very friendly and the monthly fee for as many classes as you can handle is more than fair! Overall an excellent place to learn, train, and exercise!

I absolutely LOVE this gym. I started training BJJ a couple months ago and just started coming to this gym. The instructors (Corey & Tanner) do a great job at making the technique understandable. The member culture is so much fun and they were really inclusive. I am going to branch out and learn some Judo. It’s a great deal and I would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a new hobby.

I love training for martial arts here. The instructors are very knowledgeable and respectful. They work with me and my not-twenty-anymore body. The gym is kept tidy, which is a big deal for me. TDF Gym is good to send information out about events and tournaments with plenty of lead time.

If you really want to learn how to defend yourself TDF is the place. The coaches/senseis are top notch with real life experience. There are lots of great options for all ages so I highly recommend checking this gym out with their 2 week free trial.
