Masha Allah.... One of the most historic place in the kerala... This museum is related to cheraman juma masjid, which proclaim first masjid in India. The Atmosphere is bitty hot in afternoon, but if you plan to visit in evening is good... Some historical related document and old crafts available in this museum... Cost of the ticket is Rs 5.

The Islamic History Museum has been set up in the Cheraman Juma Masjid complex. The mosque is considered to be the earliest in India and located towards the left of the Ernakulam-Guruvayoor NH 17 road and 2 km south of Kodungallur. It is said to have been built in 629 AD by Malik bin Dinar, during the lifetime of Muhammad. The museum showcases the history of Islam in Kerala and is presented to the visitors through information panels and visual media.

Cheraman juma masjid is the first juma masjid in Kerala .Even though several maintenance had come the shape and structure of the masjid was not changed .The above picture was taken in "September 2022" when i visited there a maintenance/modification work was going on it had included a underground hall for people to take their juma .That hall was well worked the floor was marbles and had said that it will be fully air conditioned.

A 5/- entrance fee is there. I should say this museum is worth only that much. Only thing worth seeing is a beautiful miniature replica of the old mosque made by artist Sreekumar. The museum is co-located with the mosque. Many ancient artefacts are kept there, but their relationship with the mosque is not clear. Otherwise a place with calmness and cleanliness.

Happened to be there again on 25 August 2022 after few years. Now museum had been removed and there is no clear picture when it will be restored.

The place is under renovation...hope that quickly comes to a completion....As I did not enter ....reportedly most of the heritage inner pieces are gone ....The museum is closed @ present.Maybe after the renovation things will get better.Sad to see such heritage monument left unattended
