Came here due to the reviews. They were not wrong! Spectacular dinner in a casual, comfortable, clean, and welcoming environment. Fantastic menu variety, there's really something for everyone here. The fried zucchini chips were excellent, the saganaki was a flaming delight, Mediterranean Salmon was fresh and flavorful, and Swordfish Steak was prepared to perfection and one of the best I've ever had. Service was friendly, prompt, and attentive. Restrooms were spotless. Staff all worked together to ensure guest satisfaction. Yeah, I'll be headed back here again soon!

Authentic Greek restaurant. There are tons of seafood dishes, some kabob dishes, and gyros for you to choice from. Along the way, there is a good list of white and red wines for you to pick from. The portion is forward the small size, you will need about 1 .5 dishes per person. The service staff is friendly. Overall, not a bad place to try out.

We had a party of 11 and the wait staff was really excellent! Appetizers, main dishes, bar drinks, and desserts were all thoroughly enjoyed. It was a little strange though that they would not let us make a 5pm reservation with this large of a group. Yet when we were waiting at the bar for the rest of our party to arrive, we heard them call for a reservation for a party of 12.

My girlfriend took me out for my birthday and I was craving some delicious saganaki cheese so I've decided to head over to Greek Islands and boy it was sooooo good! We had our flaming saganaki cheese of course over some delicious bread and butter. I ordered the grilled calamari which came with one Greek potato and rice with red sauce. I also had a glass of wine. Everything was delicious as always and service was amazing. Ivan our server was wonderful. Everything is delicious as always and my go to place for some authentic Greek food!

We had a great experience. Our server was very attentive while still giving us room to enjoy our conversation amongst one another. The food was amazing. We ordered a lot because we wanted to taste a bit of everything and we were not disappointed.

Best place we have visited in ages. Definitely deserves all 5's. Such a friendly place to be! I'm hooked. We will definitely be back next time we are in town! Courteous, professional, real Greek menu. I just loved it.

Great looking restaurant. Nicely decorated. Food was good. I ordered the Thursday special stuffed chicken breast with feta cheese, spinach and mushroom cream sauce. It was served with rice. Melted cheese was on top of the chicken. My friend ordered the chicken kabobs with a side of rice. The chicken was very dry and overcooked but the feta , spinach stuffing and sauce was very good. If the chicken wasn't dry I would have given the rating four stars. The service was robotic and they were rushing us out. They wouldn't seat us without the whole group physically being in the restaurant. I would go again and order something different and give it another try.

I would give 11 stars even on a 5 star rating. I’ve been going to the Greek islands restaurant for over 20 years and it’s always fantastic, always has been. If you like Greek food and haven’t been here then you haven’t had the best Greek food in Chicago. Get the saganaki, the flaming cheese, it’s a must. I usually order a whole assortment of appetizers to go with the fresh bread and olive oil that’s complimentary. I’ve had several things on the menu but the gyro and calamari are always solid choices. When it comes to the side order the potato and don’t think twice about it.

Place gets busy, but tables seem to be available. Staff will consistently check up on you to ensure your accommodations are met. Definitely order the cold spread sampler to start. If you love seafood try the grilled octopus (not the small ones) it's cooked to perfection. Portions are generous so come hungry. You absolutely have to order dessert even if you take it togo. It's unbelievable.

It was absolutely a great experience. The ambiance is fun, welcoming, and beautiful. The food was all delicious and the staff was amazing, patient, and came with great recommendations for all. (Thank you Fred!). It was our first time there with 1 newbie to Greek food who is fairly picky and one who loves Greek food.. and everyone was happy, stuffed, and can't wait to come back. There was not one thing that spoiled our dinner, except we couldn't eat more! We drove over an hour and would easily do it again! We had saganaki, avgolemono soup, chicken riganati, spartan style chicken, Greek style pork let's, domain's and spinach cheese pie, with almost every dessert there.. it was delicious! And even for 4 people.. the bill was not as terrifying as we thought it'd be! Aprox 37 for each.

First time here! Great food! Great atmosphere! Tony was awesome, very knowledgeable of how things were. Had many great recommendations! Can’t wait to come back for more!

This is my absolute favorite Greek restaurant. My family and I have been coming here for years to celebrate and just get together. The food is so delicious and the service is warm and friendly. I get the Lamb chops pretty much every time I come here so amazing.

Went here with the husband. Had the three dips spread and it was great. The fries were amazing. I had chicken kababs and it was also good with their side of potatoes. Just a but oily for me. My husband got a chicken that came with legs and thigh and he wasn’t a fab of it.

Everything we ordered tasted great. Chicken and beef shish kabob with Greek potato on the side, 1/2&1/2 Gyro with Vegetarian Moussaka and lastly Galaktoboureko - phyllo dough with custard . Lovely experience!

Update: Visited again for dinner. Got a daily special and it was good. They are always excellent with the service and food. It was loud but it was because people were having a great dining experience. Delicious food, good bread, grilled octopus was delicious! Everyone enjoyed the meal.

Very authentic Greek food. We had the gyro appetizer which was enough food for a whole dinner. The Mousaka was incredible.

I understand you think it’s great… but it isn’t. Being a Mediterranean born and knowing this type of cuisine very well, I was disappointed ok so many levels here. My stars are actually for the professionalism in fixing a total mess in the credit card transactions. We were 6 ppl and everyone tried from each other (except the dessert… am trying to avoid some sugar intake here) so anyways… in general I was disappointed in the lack of taste on the dishes. Then we were really unlucky with the service. We had a very frustrated angry waiter that was very unpleasant to deal with. He was so frustrated an angry that he messed up completely the credit card payments. A few days later I checked and was charged the full amount of the lunch even though we split the bill. Luckily the person there (not sure of it was the manager, owner or what, was quick and efficient and reimbursed the extra they charged. 🤷🏼‍♂️ oh well… I guess I will have to wait to be back in the Mediterranean Sea to get the full taste of this cuisine. Am not coming back. But it was absolutely packed when we left. I guess lunch merged with dinner.

First time trying this place, and boy oh boy, it will not be the last. We had great service from the staff, fast and very attentive. We ordered two appetizers, two entrees, dessert and three alcoholic beverages, and our tab was under $100. The food was incredible, I've never enjoyed eating eggplant, but it was delicious and the mini pork skewers were so tasty, I could've had them as my meal alone. I can't wait to share this experience with our friends as we have already convinced them to join us there for dinner soon.

I love Greek Islands and drive all the way from Indianapolis to go to both of them. Have even made friends coming down stop and get me take out. LOL

I recently got my wife into Greek food and she has been dying to get some so we stopped here on our weekend trip. Hands down the most delicious, fresh Greek food I have ever tasted. The lamb was so tender and the crackle of the bread crust 🤤. This will be a staple for our trips up here now.

This restaurant has been my husband's family favorite Greek restaurant and I have been having dinner here a few times. The food and staffs were all so nice and the last night I had dinner there I got complementary dessert from our table waiter to congratulate me on my pregnancy journey. It was very sweet ❤️

Absolutely the best Greek food around! We had a great waiter named Tony, really nice guy and very attentive! The saganaki, octopus and moussaka were really delicious!

Greek Islands Lombard is absolutely amazing and I try to stop anytime I'm in town. The steamed salmon with vegetables is so delicious the table next to me asked what I had. It paired great with the lemon and rice soup. The service from Erick was top notch. If I could give them more stars I would.

Great food, great service, great experience overall. Went to order one lamb dish and the bartender recommended another instead and was spot on! So delicious. To me that's true customer service. My friend got the fried Cod and was in heaven as well. You can tell they get a lot of regulars and with good reason!
