This statue is a tribute to Michael Faraday, the great British physicist who contributed to the study of physics especially in the fields electromagnetism. The statue itself is of a middle-aged man standing as if in the middle of a lecture. As one of my favourite scientists, it's definitely worth going out of the way to see. Otherwise, it's close to Victoria Embankment Gardens and only a small detour if you're in the area.

Michael Faraday - Savoy Place. In 1831, Michael Faraday discovered electromagnetic induction, the principle behind the electric transformer and generator. A crucial discovery allowing electricity to be transformed from a curiosity into a powerful new technology. Now you might understand just how important this man who was a great scientist was. Being an Engineer I have a huge amount of respect for Michael Faraday and enjoy walking past this historic landmark.

I enjoyed the view of this statue. Once again, it is one of those landmarks that one can easily miss if one is not paying attention to their surroundings. Beautiful!

I will not rest until this statue is the same size as the Statue of Liberty.
