This restaurant and wine bar is an absolute must visit. The food, beer and wine is so good, and the couple that run are so helpful and will make delicious recommendations based on your tastes. It also has an amazing atmosphere- whether dining in a small or in a bigger group. The owners helped us plan an intimate wedding reception, with the most spectacular menu and wine accompaniments! If you’re thinking of having a celebration here, look no further and reach out to the restaurant, Lale and Angus will take amazing care of you!

Dropped in to the Nook for the soft launch yesterday. Delicious sandwiches - crayfish and crab brioche, short rib. Fries just right with great home made sauces (special mention for the pickled walnut ketchup). Nice choice of wines with four or five reds and whites by the glass, and some more niche choices (including a skin contact wine which was excellent). Great vibe and the front of house team are really friendly and helpful.

The cheese plate was £20 and it definitely was not worth it. Specially for only a slice of conta, gongorzola and camembert. Other than that, good selection of wine and friendly staff. The place is really small but the atmosphere is cosy. Please fix the front door.

Excellent place! Super cute and intimate. The wine list is fantastic, I'd definitely recommend the specials as these were divine. I had a sparkling orange from France and a red from Spain. The food is equally good. I thoroughly recommend the Bread by Bike and burrata with pickled pear and pistachios, so good. The hummus was also great although I'd probably skip the picante breadsticks as a bit underwhelming. I'd definitely come here again and thoroughly recommend for great wine and great sharing food.

A fun Thursday date night dinner. Chill music, friendly staff, laid back vibe. Excellent food. Interesting wine. Sat by the door we did get a lot of cold blasts as the door wouldn't stay shut though.

Really cute and intimate place for a drink or diner. I went with a friend and we both agree it would be the perfect place for a date. We ordered 1 starter each and then shared 2 main dishes which were both delicious. They are changing the menu frequency based on the season so everything is fresh. The wine was good but I wish they had more options for one glass. The staff was very friendly too. Be aware the restaurant is quite small so booking in advance is recommended!

Really cute spot - main issue is lack of gluten free options and lack of diversity of menu. Some of our group love all the options (and understand they were delicious) but personally I didn’t like any of the limited options on the menu!

I'd say overpriced for quite a simple looking and tasting food, but interior is quite cozy and service is friendly. Another con - the place gets very loud due to a poor sound insulation/echoing and loud music.

A wonderful and intimate wine bar. Interesting selection of wines. The food menu is curt and surprisingly superlative. Don't miss the cabbage dolma balls. They were exceptional. The passion fruit cheesecake a surprising delight. And a chicken schitnzel that undermines the whole case for Brexit. They even make an excellent Negroni. There was one guy managing the whole front of house/waiting on tables and he was quite frankly excellent. Pirouetting around like someone truly in their element. Tending to everyone quickly and efficiently whilst being so friendly and helpful. A truly excellent addition to the High&I area.

Excellent food, attentive service, quality wine (if a bit pricey). Aubergine parmesan, burrata, and even chips were all super tasty and well prepared. Room is all hard surfaces and music features prominently, so can be a bit loud.

Service and atmosphere was intimate and excellent. Cheese and charcuterie selections were very full and overpriced. Wine was delicious. Wanted more vegetarian options.
