If you care about your baby and your health donā€™t choose this hospital. Because they didnā€™t took me on time while I was having contractions every 2 minutes and they sent me back home stressing me out saying there were no beds available, I went home contracted, and my baby had the meconium inside. Therefore, when I went back I have been forced to have an emergency c section for which I am still paying the price having terrible painā€¦ not to mention I wanted to encapsulate my placenta as itā€™s rich of stamina cells and itā€™s very effective for a better recoveryā€¦ and yet they lost it. They temporarily lost a human organ!!!! Everyday I have been hospitalised I have been asking for my placenta and nobody didnā€™t want to give me an answer. At the moment of discharge, the answer was that ā€œthe lab took it by mistake and kept it out of the fridgeā€ can you imagine ? I have received the worst treatment a human being can receive. Because one day at my 27 weeks I didnā€™t heard my babyā€™s movements I have been into triage, and after we realised the baby was moving ok I have been told that I could go home or stay for longer for more monitoring but because I was reassured listening my little one I preferred not to stay longer in there, and they made fun of me every time after because Iā€™ve chosen not to be hospitalised. During labour After the midwife couldnā€™t do a proper cannula injection in my hand I was scared to do the epidural, because I was in incompetent hands and yet they made fun of me again because I wasnā€™t trusting them! Unfortunately I had no other choice to save my life and my baby one (still due to the fact that they made me wait too long and resent me back while I was in labour). Finally after the huge c section I had, I went to the toilet for less then a minute, came back and my baby wasnā€™t in the room anymore!!! I heard my baby crying in the hands of one of the midwives called Willelmina Grant that was holding my baby making her crying so much. I asked what was she doing with my baby and to give her back to me that she should have asked me to take her out of the room, and this woman reported me to the mental health problems specialist that had to come to check that I wasnā€™t mentally Ill. this is abuse of power in the wrong way and this person should deserve to be fired. You cannot improperly report somebody just because you donā€™t like her, and this should be against the law! Also she organised to send me the mental health visitors straight after my morphine intake, to make me look like I was crazy and unable to look after my child! This woman deserve not to work for nhs nowhere in the world! Disgusting treatment. Nothing went through as I planned but I will never forget the traumatic experience I have been through by choosing this hospital. Go somewhere else and pray to find good midwives. Ask your friends which hospital they had a good experience beforeā€¦ unfortunately I put my health in the wrong hands.

Bad communication with midwives was there 7 hours and they were jus on their phones was getting late in the night and she is pregnant and I left my baby at home with my neighbour . I forgot the midwives name I think her name was ekalina the timing was around 12pm date 24/01/2023 she was tall black women with long block hair she was so rude anyway I left the Northwick Park hospital at 12:30 midnight drove all the way to free royal hospital when I been there they midwives was so nice and kind they help us straight a way with so kindness . And I accepted to come from harrow to royal free hospital because of my baby health and I changed from Northwick Park to royal free hospital I donā€™t mind to drive 1hr extra because of my baby health

This is the worst hospital I have seen. I advise anyone to come here. My wife came here for induction on Wednesday, and until now, which is Saturday, she is waiting for it. When I asked why she does not receive induction, I was told that because there is no midwife, they canā€™t induce her. There is a shortage of midwives and poor staffing in general. My wife remains in the observation room. The last time she was checked was like 5 hours ago. Some other women in the same place could be heard crying due to being here for days waiting for an induction or c-section. My wife is diabetic, and she was told to come to the hospital for induction since she has passed 40 weeks, yet after three days she is being moved around. Staff are not approachable and are stressed. There is no communication line, and everyone tells you what you want to hear. Iā€™m almost ready to discharge my wife to another hospital. This is beyond belief. I checked the report last time it was inspected, and the report was inadequate; the same concerns I'm experiencing now were raised.

This was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The gestational diabetes team go over and beyond and all my scans and appointments were scheduled on time and I was never left not knowing the next steps. The consultant Priya is exceptional after she saw me in pain with my spd and sciatica and picked up placental issues from a scan she brought forward my elective c section date by a week to allow my baby to be born safely. I cannot thank the team enough and the midwives at the Florence Ward are amazing. They promote independence which I believe is the key to healing faster to enable a swift home return.

I am terribly sorry for other bad reviews people left here and their bad experiences, but my partner and I were treated nicely by all staff , from day 1 till we were discharged..indeed some processes can be reviewed and improved, but other than that all was fine for us.We had a good experience for which we were informed and updated throughout all labour until delivery. God bless you all šŸ¤²

My experience delivering at Northwick Park Hospital as a first-time mum was exceptionally positive. I am genuinely grateful for choosing this facility for my delivery. Every single midwife who attended to me displayed remarkable dedication, kindness and friendliness, creating an atmosphere of reassurance that alleviated my anxiety. Despite encountering a last-minute high-risk situation, the proficient support provided by the entire staff ensured a successful delivery. The postnatal care I received was truly outstanding, and it was evident that the staff had a sincere concern for both my well-being and that of my newborn. Although I regret not recalling all the staff members' names I extend my gratitude, especially to the young midwife who patiently assisted me in learning breastfeeding techniques, recognising my distress. My heartfelt thanks go out to every individual working at the maternity ward. Your collective efforts contributed significantly to making my delivery experience truly special. A special mention must be made to Midwife Tolu, whose kindness stood out during this crucial time.

Horrible. Horror! I gave birth here, I had sepsis and was put on antibiotics. NOBODY spoke to me about this, when I asked why both me and baby are on antibiotics I was told ā€œinfectionā€. One nurse that was on the night shift was so rough with the babies when taking their pulse that I had to tell her to be more gentle. She had an attitude and argued with me in the middle of the night, and this wasnā€™t one of those situations where I got rude or disrespectful. Should I mention that I wasnā€™t given a epidural until just before I started pushing? Yeah, I kept asking and theyā€™d just give me paracetamol and tell me thereā€™s nothing they can do. I was in labour for almost 24 hours, I got the epidural in the last 4-5 hours. This is a MATERNITY! Women are going through A LOT theyā€™re bringing life into this world. I didnā€™t have the courage or the energy to argue and complain, I shouldā€™ve! The plan was never to give birth here, but I had to be induced so I had no choice really. If God ever gives me another child Iā€™ll stay as far as possible from this hospital. Some lovely nurses that love their jobs and have a passion for caring for babies and women, but also some vile ones that canā€™t wait to clock out so they could care less if youā€™re ok or not.

I can't believe I was waiting here for hours for nothing. I was falsely diagnosed for having protein in my urine and having high blood pressure, the doctor didn't redo it in edgware walk in centre. She went out the room to check my urine, she could of been doing anything with it. The doctor from edgware walk in centre referred me to maternity triage to be seen, she made me belive I had some serious condion and make me worry for nothing. As I went to the doctors today and my urine and blood pressure is all good. So maternity triage there is nothing wrong with me, I was falsely diagnosed by edgware walk in centre. You can even contact chalkhill centre to get information from them as I went there today for an appointment, the doctor checked my urine and blood pressure, all the results came up clear, nothing is wrong. I gave 2 stars as when I came in to triage the lady that was at the desk was rude.

My overall experience at Northwick Park Hospital was unfortunately not satisfactory. While the doctors were extremely helpful and provided attentive care, the aftercare processes definitely needs improvement. There seemed to be a lot of delay in actually seeing patients and assessing their situation, which resulted in frustratingly long wait times. This extended waiting period added to the already stressful situation of seeking medical attention. Although the doctors were knowledgeable and supportive, the aftercare provided was not up to par. There was a lack of follow-up and communication regarding treatment plans and next steps, leaving us feeling uncertain and unsupported in our recovery process. I understand that hospitals can be busy and understaffed, but the excessive wait times and lack of efficient processes were disappointing. It would be beneficial for Northwick Park Hospital to address these issues and find ways to improve their workflow to minimize delays and provide better aftercare services. Overall, while the doctors were commendable, the overall experience at Northwick Park Hospital fell short due to long wait times, delays in assessing patients, and insufficient aftercare.

Horrible experience, they have kept my wife starving for last 24 hours awaiting a c- section . They took 6 such 'emergency' patients whilst keeping us waiting whereas only 6 hours fasting is needed. My wife's water broke 38 hours ago and since then we are in the hospital waiting for our turn. Now the doctor comes and tells us there is another emergency and might have to wait another 2.5 hours. They are not taking an accountability or responsibility of the health of the baby if there is a delay. If this can go on for another 12 hours, is my wife at 38.5 weeks expected to starve for 40 hours to get a c section? Are any authorities listening here? This is because there is a staff shortage and the doctors are encouraging the patients to complain on PALS so that the LNWH trust CEO Pippa Nightingale could know they are under funded and under resourced.

I had initially considered leaving a 1-star review, but Latifaā€™s kindness, empathy, and understanding of our situation led her to resolve the issue we were facing. Initially, we felt like no one cared, but Latifa intervened and effectively resolved our problem. We greatly appreciate Latifaā€™s assistance.

We had our first baby delivered here. The staff was cooperative and they supported us well from the appointments to the final delivery. They also admitted my wife quickly when we reported less baby movement and only discharged us after ultrasound reports and our satisfaction. A big thank to all the midwives, doctors and other staff members.

The staff in the maternity ward are all amazing. They need to be supported by the trust. The staff deserve a lot of praise and acknowledgement for coping with the lack of staffing and resources. Yes the wait times are long and it can take longer than expected for procudures, medicine to be given and appointments. The experence for use was challenging, but would have been impossiable without the great staff.
