Playnation Games is a retro games store that is located inside Whitgift Centre, it can be found in The Heart of Gaming store (at the entrance really). It has a good selection of games from Atari/NES/SNES/N64/Playstation/Dreamcast (and some other older games I couldn't recognize) up to the current generation. Consoles and games are reasonably priced. They also have a shelf of small selection of Manga, some Gundam Gunpla figures, and Pokémon cards. They have a space with tables which I believe they hold TCG tournaments and some D&D in. The owner is wonderful, helpful and knowledgeable. I'd totally recommend coming here if you're in the area and interested in checking out some retro games or stock up on TCG cards and Gunpla figures. Note that I used Uber to get here, the location dropped me at the back parking lot of the Centre. You can find a door on the right hand side with stairs that directly drop you at the store. I took the long detour and got in from the Whitgift Centre.

Into Table Top gaming or looking to pick up a game or two or maybe some memorabilia, this is the place to be. Team members are always willing to go out of their way to help, nothing is to big for them. This is the perfect place for picking up an amazing latte, too. Special shout out to Sky who not only makes you feel welcome but makes an awesome spicy Latte. 😎

The BEST gaming store in England! If you love video games, cards, anime and having a fun time meeting new people then this is the place to be. I'm an introvert and find it difficult to socialise but the staff at this store are amazing and so friendly. Sky makes the most amazing latte's (the best I have ever had) and they are super helpful with anything and everything. The store sells a lot of amazing games and single cards from Magic the gathering, Pokémon, One piece and more at a reasonable price! I will be coming here all the time because the store is amazing and the staff members are fantastic!!!! 😁

I frequently visit for the Yu-Gi-Oh tournament. The staff are helpful, knowledgeable and the shop's community is unmatched. I highly recommend this place.

Friendly staff, great selection of goods, and now they sell the army painter range of paints. I wish I could give them 6 stars. Mtg and army painter paints under one roof fantastic. I just need more disposable income :)

My son attended a gaming tournament at this venue and forgot his Nintendo Switch there. We live around 1.5 hrs away and only noticed when we got home. I spoke to Vladdy via the telephone who was brilliant in reassuring me that the unit had been put away safely. I kept in touch with her until I eventually collected the console and she was always prompt and immediate in her reply and very professional and courteous. Nothing was too much hassle for her and made me feel at huge ease. She told me exactly where the console had been left and who I should see when I collected. This was important as it was a bit of a drive to go back. She is a great asset to the company and it is extremely rare to find such hard working/passionate staff committed and dedicated to their jobs and the public they serve. Thank you again Vladdy 😊

The worst gaming store in England if not Europe! Front line staff have the worst attitudes and are unfriendly, hostile, uninterested, unhelpful and lack knowledge! Manager is completely incompetent and inept. Staff spend a stupid amount of time posting rubbish on social media as opposed to cleaning up their filthy and cluttered shop. Their gaming stock is dirty / never cleaned, has worn out stickers, cracked cases, cracks in the centre of the discs, scratches on the discs. The huge bulk of their rare games are fake reproductions in addition to the continual counterfeit / photo copied covers they provide. Please do not waste your time visiting this store! An absolute disgrace to the community and to the culture of gaming! UPDATE: Now these incompetent people at Playnation Games are confusing me with some other strange customer they have encountered. This is a sign of what type of people shop here and a sign of incompetent staff who make stupid accusations based on a whim, literally based on nothing and get matters completely wrong. If this was a professional company they would have looked for a solution in a customer friendly way, not start attacking people via Google Reviews. Whoever wrote your response below is a failure. You need a new PR person. Please avoid this store as their responses tell you all you need to know, really bad and unprofessional Manager / Owner. FURTHER UPDATE: This company has OVER THIRTY POOR 1 STAR REVIEWS - IT SAYS ITS ALL REALLY! Especially when it has been confirmed within those reviews that Playnation Games are 'Rude and Greedy' and sell 'damaged and scratched games'. Here are some of the highlights from the BAD reviews about PLAYNATION GAMES; - Purchased a game, got home and found the instructions were ripped and glued together with tape. - Waited 1 hour for a Manager who "just went for a break", waited for 1 hour (!), then was told they cannot refund me due to online policies, couldn't tell me where to find those policies, and eventually me refunded me as store credit. - Rude and Greedy - This shop is totally useless - A number of Gameboy/Gameboy Advance Games are Bootlegs (Fake cartridges). - Stay well clear of this shop. - They have a Clenaflex Arcade Machine which is a Big Con when the prize falls it falls on to a bar making the prize almost impossible to win on its a £1 a play. - DO NOT SUPPORT THEM THEY ARE CONNING ROBBING OWNERS. - The owner seems to take things personally when receiving feedback on what I can only describe as his tetchy, at best ambivalent manner and contempt for any customers who are returning faulty products. - To the extent that I have no desire to ever visit this outlet again. - You're far better off sticking to the likes of Computer Exchange and certain other independent gaming retailers with their no quibble, personable approach. - Arcade upstairs on two occasions were inoperable. - Steer clear and take your hard earned money elsewhere. - never recommending this shop to anyone EVER there should be a no star option. - these guys still owe me £50 I paid as deposit for my kid's birthday party last year, and never got back, - Absolutely atrocious, the phone was NEVER answered. (Having tried calling them for FOUR days) - Rubbish variety of games, we did not have a good time. Half of the games weren’t working when we went. Quite sad, - Poor service & no real policy for faulty goods - bad attitude. - The place is bad and the people are irrelevant and inexperienced. - The game I was sold was incredibly scratched. - staff were not very knowledgeable. LOL at Playnation Games - so stupid they are mixing me up with some other customer. Idiots!
