Over the years the system on how to book GP appointments has changed. I personally don't like it, but I know due to Doctors workloads they're unable to use the old system where most of your appointments are face to face. The reception staffs have been good to me. They always treat me with respect, kindness and call me Whenever they promise to do so.

I have a number of health problems and have always had a positive experience at the surgery. There may be a wait on the phone and using the website can be a faff sometimes as it's generic, it has to be, but I have always been given a timely appointment or a had a call back to discuss my concerns. The GPs and nurses are knowledgeable, reception staff accommodating and the triage system works. What more do you need from a medical facility?

It’s sad to have to leave this review for this surgery, but I’m doing so in hope that the service it provides its patients improves. I’ve been yesterday for my baby’s check as he having cough for about 1 month. I’ve been served by a medical student and I asked for doctor. The appointment started with check and it was running by medical student. At the end of the appointment “the doctor” came he have been sitting in the front of me not even looked at my baby , his hands have been on the pocket like we been on the same table at the coffee shop. He started talking about my baby as he’s fine and he doesn’t have anything. My baby coughing for about 1 month and I asked for a syrup or something at least because he can’t sleep during the night. He suggested me to do not give him anything because now he develops immune system. Well, the night after he starts having high fever and what’s that mean bronchitis??? Definitely not happy at all with the service and I’m seriously thinking to move from this gp as the last 2 times we been served by medical student and the answer was always “he’s fine,he’s ok” but he’s not . 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

This is my local surgery and I have been a patient here since 1990. I recently had my yearly blood tests done here and also had my yearly flu jab. The receptionists are polite and friendly. This is a good GP surgery.

It’s sad to have to leave this review for this surgery, but I’m doing so in hope that the service it provides its patients improves. It doesn’t relate to the doctors themselves, but concerns the ‘gate keepers’. The ones that call themselves receptionists. They seem to forget they are there to be the ‘positive’ go between the busy doctors and the sick patients. When my elderly mum walked into the surgery to ask to see a doctor she was told a firm NO!! No explanation, no ‘are you ok’, ‘let me see if anyone can see you anytime soon’. Just NO!! That’s not first time. Numerous times on the phone she has tried to get hospital results and told to call them. When asked which dept. should she ask for, she was met with ‘I don’t know’. This was even though the hospital told her to ask her doctor for the results. We all know doctors are under pressure, but receptionists need to have compassion to patients too, especially the elderly and vulnerable and if doctors are busy, be able to explain this and not make them feel they are being a nuisance. Do better

One of the worst GP practice I have ever had. It extremely difficult for doctors to take your concerns seriously. You really have to insist. They seem to be running on a tight budget or not too keen to make referrals. They easily dismiss symptoms et tend to make you believe you’re fine even though you know you’re not. The positive side is the receptionists, they also polite and always try their best. I’ve rarely met a doctor, only students who ask silly questions before checking with the main doctors and coming back with a NO to some of your requests.

Avoid at all costs if you care about your well-being! I unfortunately have nothing but negative experiences to share about this surgery. The doctors here are extremely dismissive and condescending, I was under great distress about my concern, however I was pushed away with no sign of reassurance let alone help/treatment. I will be leaving and registering elsewhere.

Welcoming atmosphere, reasonably on time, invariably good treatment from a wide variety of nurses, good and common sense advice, splendid co-ordination between the different places (hospital A&E, Same Day Centre, Tissue Clinic and Portland GP practice) that have been treating me. One day, who knows?, I may even meet one of the doctors!
