We found the Westminster Arms on the way back to our hotel. Staff were friendly when we enquired whether they were still serving food. We went downstairs and we were quickly served. We had the beef and ale pie with veg and the vegan/veggie burger with chips, bread and butter pudding with custard and apple pie and custard. Food was served piping hot and the portions were decent. The veggie burger was really tasty which makes a nice change. We cleared our plates. We followed up with some drinks and all in all left the pub with happy stomachs. We liked the small wooden booths, which gave a bit of privacy to relax and natter.

We attended this pub by chance when we were walking around London central during remembrance weekend and some roads were closed. I found this pub using Google maps and noticed maybe a 100 veterans drinking inside and outside on the street. It's a real old style London boozer with some great ales. Due to the vast number of customers we stood outside in the street drinking ales and beers. I would definitely visit this pub again when we are in London central again. We were made to feel welcome by the staff and the veterans in attendance

Have stopped into Westminster Arms multiples times for a couple of pints with friends after nearby tours. It's a small but charming, friendly pub that's worth a stop!

Despite its proximity to Westminster Abbey, this very traditional London pub isn’t too full of tourists; a few, but also popular with locals and after work drinkers. A Shepherds Neame pub serving all of their ales, including well kept Master Brew. Staff were reasonably welcoming but not overly so. There are better pubs nearby but also far worse ones. A decent option if in the area.

Nice little place. Review in two parts. 1. The pub on ground level was cosy but still felt roomy enough (especially when considering social distancing). Beer was good with prompt and polite staff. 2. The downstairs bar for food didn't serve the full range of beers as upstairs but still had enough to choose from. The food was reasonably priced and took a respectable time to arrive, especially as we were a table of 7 all eating. It was however a little on the warm side because of this. I imagine a smaller eating group would be provided warmer food. Nice taste and well presented. It's the little things that count, I had the fish and chips and the lemon slice on the fish was fresh, it didn't feel like it had been in the fridge for a day or two as other places seem to do. All in all, whether just wanting a quick social or bite to eat, nice pub.

Super historic pub tucked away across the road from Westminster Abbey and The Queen Elizabeth conference centre. Drop in for a great selection of drinks and beer on draught.

Had 6 pints and they started taking pints out of my hand with no abnormal behaviour. I was completely fine. They scrutinise customers. Don’t ever go there unless you keep it to 3 drinks. Will never go anywhere in Westminster after this.

A really great pub that is really not all that crowded given how close it is to Westminster Abbey.

The place could do with a serious deep clean (see pics from ladies toilets). Sticky tables, dirty floors, and the bathrooms need serious attention. The older Irish man bar tending upstairs is rude and discriminatory - might want to reconsider his decision to work in the service industry.

Ok prices, ok atmosphere. The food was disappointing, as some garnishes were missing, and the fish fingers sandwich had a mushy texture. The bangers were supposed to be apple flavoured, but there was no hint of it. The bartender seemed to have a bit of an attitude (did her job, but not much more than that)

Under new management. Oh dear what a difference. Grumpy staff, incorrect drinks served, corked wine that stinks of cork and weak flat pints 🤢. Such a shame. Use to be a great establishment. Oh yeah and I know how to serve to a punter-with a smile- and how a pint should be, I'm a barmaid, bloody good at it and love it!! Time to move on.

Delicious food. Great staff. Best food we had in London surprisingly! Warm and inviting atmosphere downstairs to eat. Sid served us and was awesome! Stopped by before and after Westminster Abby tour, the steak and ale pie blew our socks off!

Absolutely amazing, characterful pub with a hilarious, very dry barman. We were made to feel very welcome on a Friday evening. The barman asked for ID which made my day as I'm nearly 50 😂 Partner said the beer was good- I'm a vodka chick. We stood outside as quite busy inside. We will definitely return.

A pleasant small pub in a good location. There is a wine bar downstairs. As well as a good range of ales, wines and spirits there is a good choice of pub grub. It is very popular and can be crowded.

One of the best pubs in London.

Great atmosphere and service, but the beer on tap could have been a bit colder. It has that typical London pub vibe that we all love, but beware, fellow vegetarians: there are not many options (which is the norm for a pub). I will definitely visit once again!

Was attracted by the Shepherd Neame sign, a relief from all the Green King muck in Westminster. But selection was poor and atmosphere lacking. A shame, as it looked like it could've been a backstreet gem, seconds from Westminster Palace and St James's Park etc. P'raps ok if you just want a quick lager.

3 stars for the beer. Not a bad pint for London. Minus 1 star for the service. Served by misery. Slammed pint down on bar Questioned why the attitude Bar lady stormed off. Jesus Message to the manager 'f*"k U' to let a member of staff be so 'F*:"!ng' rude.

an awesome place! Britain’s Oldest brewery, wow. Came in for fish and chips and a pint, but unfortunately missed mealtime. Bartender was fabulous and super personable. I asked for something along a Guinness, but not. He said that’s it, but suggested a drangonfire English ale, which I loved. I mean, just look at the place, it has so much charm!

Every year we do a family Christmas walk round London and pop into our traditional pubs along the way. This pub we have been coming to for years, but on Saturday we walked in and the atmosphere was completely dead, shocking considering it was 2 weeks before Christmas. When we asked if they did flavoured gin for one of our party, the man behind the bar replied very abruptly and said NO and walked away, when we then asked if they do pale ale for my father, we received the same response! Everyone was shocked by the attitude of the man and we quickly finished our drinks and left, never to return again! Such a shame because a few years ago, this use to be a lovely warm welcoming place. The staff need a little Christmas cheer and realise someone asking for a flavoured gin in London is certainly not a crime. A little customer service would not go a miss in this pub and after the year small business have had, they would be more welcoming rather then pushing customers out of their doors!!

Lovely place busy with people just finishing work. Plenty of staff! Although please please clean beer lines regularly as it ruined are visit due to not being able to finish my beer.

Not a great pub visit. They got my drink order wrong and refused to believe they'd used the wrong spirit. I had 5 people test the drink after they refused to believe me and they all agreed it was the wrong spirit. Wouldn't recommend as there are much better pubs in Westminster. It was nice to be milling around outside and the atmosphere there was good..

Great place for a quiet pint. Not too busy at around 4pm, the Master Brew hit the spot!

Nice pub with friendly staff. Only criticism is the the t.v constantly on the news channel. I go to the pub to escape the news. Please turn it off trust me it will be a better atmosphere

Nice old London pub with a great host willing to cut the breeze with his punters. Not convinced about the arch story but heh, who cares!

Popped in at 5.15pm and asked if they were serving food. A fairly abrupt no and the man turned around and walked away. Undeterred, I asked at the bar and they said there is a tourist place further down the road! Website says they serve food until 6pm.

Great pub, often overlooked for such a central london pub Ales are always top quality.

Great pub food and a lively atmosphere. Closed a little early for my liking (about 6pm). There are decent Shepherd Neame ales at the ground floor bar, but if eating upstairs the selection narrows considerably. Staff were polite and friendly. I had a pretty good fish and chips. Nice large cod and chunky chips with a tiny bowl of pointless peas. I'd go there again, definitely.

Stopped by on the off chance on London Marathon day. Great atmosphere and decor - beer was superb as was our Fish n Chips and burger. Definitely be back when next in town

An olde worlde pub sandwiched between the local professional engineering institutions near parliament. A reasonable selection of beers with ample space upstairs and down to sit and eat but v.little space to sit and drink. It's mostly set-up for folk standing around to catch a quick drink after work / meetings but does have weekend entertainment such as Morris Dancing.

Great pub, good selection of beer (spitfire larger recommended) great fish and chips. Nice bar staff. Give it a go if in Westminster.

Popular Shepherd Neame pub close to Westminster Abbey and Houses of Parliament. Beer is well looked after and staff are attentive.

Understated class. Weirdly I think, I love the floors. Beer always good too - although I wish they sold sone of their brewery's own porter which is so much better than Guinness.

Lovely pub, friendly staff and good selection of drinks. A major plus is the air conditioning. It is nice and cool inside and it was not too crowded compared to other pubs.

I only nipped in for a cooling pint on a hot August afternoon. I was impressed with the calm, clean and airy interior, the helpful staff, and of course the lovely ales of Shepherd Neame. I stayed for a second pint ...
