Sometimes small and busy cafes can be daunting for me, particularly when there’s the risk of everyone turning their heads and looking at you as you step through the door. However, I’m glad I took the risk with this tiny treasure! The food reminded me of my nans cooking, absolutely marvellous and homely. The service was fantastic and I really like that there is a selection of books to read. Can’t wait to come back!

Cute little cafe serving delicious and different brunch food. There’s only 1 chef and waitress so it can be slow, but the wait is worth it. Good prices too.

Delicious cafe and I think everyone knows it because there's always a queue. But it's worth it. Fab friendly service and everything is homemade, so if you have any dietary requirements they can expertly tell you if they can cater for it (or otherwise). And because it's all made there, the menu changes regularly. Bonus: they have great coffee!

Quirky little place serving great brunch food. The vegetarian breakfast and the salt beef sandwiches were delicious. It’s a tiny place so you may have to queue up if you want to sit.

Really excellent food, at decent prices. I love every. Single. Thing. It may be a little cramped, and the food doesn't arrive quickly, but when it does, oh boy! Try the salt beef if they're serving it that day. The veggie breakfast, and the blondie brownies are great. There's also lovely decor, and a lovely couple running the show.

I really can’t say enough about this place! Normally my rule is to only eat at the same place once on vacation, but I ate here three times during my stay in London. The service is excellent and the food is some of the best I’ve had in a while! Absolutely delicious. Recommend the vegetarian breakfast—that was my favorite.

Delicious food, great atmosphere! The roasted sweet potatoes with avocado, feta, edamame and poached egg was to die for! Small place, you might wait a while.

Been wanting to go here for ages but it's always packed. Finally went and it didn't disappoint! Delicious food with a varied and interesting menu. The place has great style and atmosphere and friendly service. Hopefully I'll find a spot there again!

Finally made it here after many failed attempts due to its massive popularity! Just the cosiest, loveliest, little café. Service was warm and friendly and super efficient, and the food is absolutely delicious and clearly homemade with love. The brunch menu is so much more varied and interesting than the usual stuff you see, but I couldn't resist the full English. The homemade hash browns and baked beans were a particularly delicious and unexpected highlight!

I have been here one month ago for lunch on a Sunday because I found this place highly rated on Google maps and it was close to where I had to go afterwards. So, I hadn't booked a table and indeed it was full (the place is very small). A lady was waiting outside to be seated. She told me though that it would have been worth it to wait because the food is super! And so did I. I waited standing in the cold but it was more than worth it! The food came (more quickly than they told me, luckily, as I had told them that I didn't have much time). And it was so natural and tasty, well cooked and well presented. Highly recommend!

I had a lovely oat flat white and English breakfast that was one of the best I've had. Beans with a hint of bbq flavor, brilliant rye toast, proper homemade hash browns, and all the other bits came together in great flavors. While cosy interior, it was very comfy. Just a very nice feeling place, highly recommended.

Ordered the English Breakfast. Was one of the best breakfasts I had in a long time. I'm not normally one for beans but the sauce and the seasoning was out of this world. The hash brown were also amazing normally very hard to find somewhere that can actually cook them right. Everything else was delicious. Would definitely be returning and would 100% recommend this place.

This is one of the nicest cafés I've ever visited. If you're in Highgate this is a must. The coffee was amazing and the chicken schnitzel might be the best sandwich I've ever eaten. The staff are lovely and the atmosphere is peaceful, friendly and interesting. Please try this place

Had a lovely coffee here while I was working remotely. Lovely small coffee shop with a beautiful menu that I will sample next time I am in.

This place was fantastic. Just happened to be caught in a rain storm and this was our refuge. Food/vibe was so lovely and the owner/waitress was so friendly. Looking forward to coming back to Highgate just to revisit.

Best breakfast/brunch in the neighbourhood, if not in London. Food is out of this world. My friend took me here once, since then I'm a regular. The place is quite small but cosy, so at times it's hard to get a table when it's at it's peak hours, but it's always worth the wait. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Cosy cafe with delicious food! I visited Food Room on a Sunday morning and had an excellent breakfast. The service was friendly, coffee came out quickly, and the food was excellent. I recommend the Bacon & Avocado Benedict, very generous amount of food, very well presented and very tasty.

Absolutely the best place for brunch/lunch in Highgate. We've been going for years and the food never disappoints, anything you choose on the menu will always be spectacular. More than that though, Magda and the chef are lovely and it is such a cosy, welcoming space that by now it just feels like an extension of home!

Authentic and fresh. Baked breakfast and Vegetable focaccia sandwich are a must! Impeccable service. The best food in the neighbourhood!

Great place for a break just in the middle of the Parkland Walk from Finsbury park to Alexandra Palace. The food is tasty and the portions are big. The cafe itself is very cosy and the music only adds to it. Definitely recommend if you are nearby.
