Was looking for somewhere last minute to watch the IPL final, playoff finals and F1 and stumbled across the Sportsman by chance after ages of looking.. very impressed by the kindness and helpfulness of the staff when we asked to put the cricket on they helped right away - Food was also nice and drinks were well priced. Would recommend to anyone in the area looking for a decent sports bar

Our second year running here for Christmas lunch, and they did us proud again. Thanks to Tanya, Michael and Charon for great service on the day, and Gemma for helping us out beforehand. Lovely pub. Our table was nicely decorated with crackers etc. and the food was again great. Best value in the area, too. A thoroughly relaxed afternoon - we will be back.

A great bar for drinks before a West Ham game. Nice selection of drinks. Lots of space and tables available to sit and watch sport. Loads of tvs to watch the sport on. I didn’t order food but the food I saw being served, didn’t look great. But as I didn’t eat, you should make up your own mind

I went there today and I had the worst experience again. I was abused by the manager and harassed in front of my friends. Take action against the manager and don't let this happen to someone else. Gemma the Manager yelled and used foul language and harassed me infront of my friends. Don't let maniacs like these serve customers.

Schöne Sportsbar, perfekt für einen Besuch vor einem West Ham Spiel. Essen ist durchschnittlich und Bier gibt es in Plastikgläser. Dennoch ist es zu empfehlen. Es gibt viele Bildschirme für alle möglichen Sportarten.

Booked the Sportsman three days ago for 12pm and 4:30 tomorrow, before and after the West Ham v Palace match. A big deal for our family, my brother flying over from Ireland and me coming in from Bath. Got a call lunchtime today to tell me that both bookings will be cancelled because they ‘forgot’ it was a West Ham game and they don’t take bookings on match days. I suggested to them that as it was their mistake they should at least honour the bookings I had made, but the lady then just hid behind ‘my boss says no’. What sort of customer service is that ? Would have made no real difference to them to honour those two bookings, but no - so I’m now left with trying to find somewhere decent to eat one day before a game that will have about 60,000 crowd - no chance.

Nice and safe atmosphere. There was small built in TV for each sitting area, which was amazing. Menu offers for food with drink choices were not clear and hidden at the back of the menu, which we came to know after we had already ordered the food. They do not let children come after 7pm, which is not nice for parents as kids also love this place.

Fantastic experience yesterday AM. We were in Stratford as a base for the league one play off final, at Wembley. This bar did not disappoint. Very tasty food and a particularly generous drinks selection. Would definitely visit again! Regards Staff and locals were so friendly and hospitable, would definitely visit again!

We were in London for a few days and it is very sad that you will last years hardly find a typical, ordinary English restaurant with English food. Everything was dominated by international pizza chains and Chinese noodles. Fortunately, we found her here and we were very pleasantly surprised. Consistent food, drink, service, atmosphere and reasonable prices. Great!

Gemma went above and beyond for us. Every drink we ordered a large round. She was organised, helpful, happy and supplied us a great service. The Sportsman would have got a 5 star but the doorman was rude and had dreadful communicating skills. Toilets were clean, DJ was good. Overall good experience.

Doom Bar 3.50. Pride was unavailable. All sports covered simultaneously on multiple screens. Not busy at 15:00 Wednesday. Free WIFI is beyond EXCELLENT. I watch Buffalo NY CNN on my laptop. Cannot comment on food as didn't order anything.

Great pub whether you're mad on sports or not. My fella & I have been back several times as it's a great place to watch sport as well as have a drink & pub grub. The staff are really friendly and the atmosphere is warm & lively. A really good place to watch sports or just to sit & have a few drinks & some hearty food!

Would give 0 if I could. Never got to try this place. Booked a table for 12 people through the phone line on the web page. When I made the booking I explained that we would send advanced food choices as 1 pub had already said they couldn't accommodate us due to the football that I needed to be 100% sure this would happen. I was reassured that it would be happy to accommodate us. They sent a email for food orders on a Sunday and the Monday I returned the order. On Tuesday I received a call from them to cancel due to the football !!! I rang the booking line to complain and was informed that the pub shouldn't have cancelled as they had no information on this and they were still accepting bookings for that date and the booking line Manager was in a meeting and would get back to me, needless to say no one did despite having contact phone number and email. The booking line is the masterpub group that this pub belongs to. This is very unprofessional and very poor customer service. Not that they would care.

Gemma was friendly and hospitable. Had breakfast with family on saturday Monring. She has done extra mile, all what you want on a rainy weekend. Thanks Gemma ❤️

Went here after a shopping trip to westfield. Very impressed by the price of a pint and by the friendly staff that served me. Also a very spacious pub with lots of seats. Will definitely come back

Horrendous customer service…Zigmona the bartender is beside it unfortunately! Ordered 2-4-1 cocktails, she poured it out the tap, I’ve requested not in one glass. Once the drink settled which I’ve waited for nearly filled half of the glass. I then went back to the bar and asked her for a glass in which they usually serve it, I’ve poured “them both “ in a glass in front of her and asked if that’s a correct measure, she replied: “you saw me pouring it” and she walked away! That’s something I’ve never experienced ever! What a poor service, the attitude needs addressing certainly!!

Lovely pub, doorstaff was nice and friendly upon entry, all staff behind the bar were lovely and made us feel welcome. Came in on a Friday night for food as it was around the corner from our hotel, food was so good we had to come back for a breakfast in the morning. 👍🏼

Apologies! Food is great the have a lot of options (the wings are my favourite for amoubt and flavour) as well as the drinks, they have 241 cocktails! Of course the absolute best place for watching the football only issue is the customers around the pool table never really let you play and are sometimes rude but otherwise still a great venue the staff are also nice!

Great pub. Fantastic atmosphere. Hard working staff. Food was also really good and fresh. Many tv screens to watch the matches as well. Hope to be back again (its a fair bit from my postcode🤣🤣)

Nice bar, with friendly staff and security. It's like the Wetherspoons but with live sport and multiple TV Screens. They have pool, poker tables and slot machines too...its an all in one

Great price beer, nice staff and very clean. You can sit down in a nice spot and read your news paper without having to listen to extra loud music giving you a head ache. Nice one 1⃣

I have been here before for drinks, but im leaving a review based on a really positive interaction i had there with staff i had no battery and needed to call a cab home.. Thankfully door staff were quick to assist me, which was a real life saver. i wasn't even a paying customer at the time. Overall the drinks are affordable and has a warm homely vibe, with good honest staff i would recommend.

Popped in for a quick Friday lunch pint. Quite quiet so not much atmosphere but lovely decor so I imagine when it’s busier it has a lovely buzzing atmosphere. Pricier than the Wetherspoons that’s almost next door but still not bad for what you would expect for London prices.

I visit the the Sportsman whenever I can with a mate of mine. Excellent atmosphere for any sports events with loads of screens everywhere. Always a pleasure whenever we have a catch up with Gemma, the happy and very helpful member of staff ! Been visiting the Sportsman for the last 3 years now !

I went there early so there was plenty of seats available. You have to order by the bar. I ordered the Yorkshire pudding wrap with chips. I didn't wait long, again due to not many people there. The wrap was delicious, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was expecting something bigger but it filled the hole. I do wish I received more chips buy they were yummy. The menu is big and alot of food caught my eye so I will definitely go back to try more.

Good little sports pub, lots of screens, all interactions with staff were friendly from the bouncers to the bar staff and waiters, pool tables. Price of a weatherspoons but with better food and environment.

The only too of us order so much amazing food for lunch! We could not have it all 😅 but the candid Gemma help us with the take away boxes and we enjoy it also at dinner time 😊 5 stars to the food and the service

Worst ever pub experience. Arrived on time for a booking which required a £20 deposit but was left standing at the entrance for 15 minutes until the table was freed. Although we had pre booked a few buckets of beer, we went almost 1.5 hours without a drink, which if it wasn't for the constant chasing would never have been delivered. Upon delivering the drinks they attempted (accidentally) to overcharge for the drinks which took serious convincing before they realized they made a mistake. To finish it all off we were told at the end of the night that we still had to spend the £20 deposit. Why was this not deducted from the several meals and drinks purchased for the table?

Was here for ‘Local legends with Carlton Cole and James Collin’. Absolutely fantastic night as usual in the sportsman. Greatest, friendliest staff and pub in Stratford and in my opinion London. Love you guys Rachel xx

Our breakfast at the British sports bar became a delightful experience, all thanks to Kinga's impeccable service and charming British accent. Cheers to her for making our morning so enjoyable!
