It was my first time at Eat Tokyo and whilst it was quite busy the initial experience was let down by an unfortunately rude waiter who had zero people skills. I understand that establishments in Soho perhaps know that they mainly cater to tourists who won't be returning customers but this level of rudeness was unacceptable in any setting. Thankfully the rude waiter did not totally spoil the experience and his colleagues were much more professional and apologized for the delays in service. The sushi was good and I would recommend the soft shell crab karage (although most things which are fried are good!) I hope that the rude waiter was an exception as that kind of 'service' is not acceptable especially in the context of lower footfall in central London at the moment. I would go again for sushi as it was good though!

Food at Eat Tokyo has always been very consistently good and amazingly great value for the money. I had unagi bento (£15.50) and my friend had salmon with teriyaki chicken bento (£18). Her portion was huge. It is always busy and there is almost always a queue. The only downside to Eat Tokyo is that you cannot linger and chat after meal. They have a very quick turn over. In fact, we got our bill almost as soon as they took our dishes away.

I noticed a queue outside this restaurant whilst I was walking through Soho so the next I was in central London, I wanted to try this place! So my friend and I ordered a variety of dishes as we got over excited about the choice of food on the menu. I think we over-ordered!! We felt the food was good and was good value of money as some Japanese restaurants seem to charge an arm and a leg. The seating area was good and the restrooms were clean. We enjoyed our time here and I’m sure we will be back.

Had a wonderful visit to eat Tokyo with a group of friends. Without booking and visiting quite late the staff were quick to get our party seated. Promptly providing us with menus and giving us time to view and place our orders. My goodness this place is incredible! The teriyaki chicken and salmon are packing a punch of flavours. The oysters fresh and served with some chillis were fab adding that salty sweet heat kick! The staff were very friendly and gave some great recommendations from the menu. The price is more than reasonable and offers excellent value for money. Highly recommend!

A place to go to for Japanese Style Food. Franchised Branch and one of the busiest being in Soho usually there are queues most of the time to eat dinner at this place but it's worth the 20/30 minutes wait. Some staff were friendly and some were just there. Main reason I come back is cause of the food and reasonably priced menu 😋 Overall Great place to come to hang out with family and friends.

The best Japaneses restaurant in The UK for me. You might get in line for 30 minutes but is worth it. Ingredient so fresh(although less than Japan) and reasonable price. We spent 60 pounds for 2 people and made us full. I don't recommend ordering unagi because are quite hard to chew and taste not good as much as I used to eat.

This is my first time at the Soho venue. I have been several times at the Hammersmith. The food is always delicious and the service if fast and polite. You can never go wrong with Eat Tokyo! Great food and amazing photographic food menu which leaves you with so much choice! A must try! I'm definitely visiting again!

A very popular sushi restaurant for two reasons - good quality food, and inexpensive for London's standard. I have been here several times and are always satisfied. Yes there are better Japanese restaurants out there but but this price point, Eat Tokyo is hard to beat. Be prepared to queue though if you do not make a reservation.

Highly recommend a visit to Eat Tokyo, it’s a short walk from the tube and worth the wait when you get there. It’s a walk in restaurant and only a short wait to be seated. Staff are really nice and helpful. Menu is vast and plenty of options to suit everyone. We opted for a bento box and throughly enjoyed it. A very good experience and will visit again in future.

We ordered starters, main and drinks for two. Japanese, affordable, great portions served at the Soho outlet. We started with the idea that we should order more but the stuff we ordered was more than enough. It's really affordable too. Not expensive and large portions of mains, satisfied us. Service was quick. Présentation and taste was up to the mark as well. No complaints. Surely will go again, if we land up in Soho.

If you can book a table beforehand, DO IT!! We waited in line for almost an hour and the line wasn’t too long when we started queuing! It quickly became too long shortly after. Food was amazing! Very tasty and fresh. Sushi rolls were extremely delicious and some were very original unlike most standard Japanese restaurants I’ve been to. I recommend dragon king and spicy tuna tartar. For appetizers squid feet was really nice. We ordered a large chicken katsu curry and it was humongous!!! Definitely too big for 2. So keep that in mind. Also, they usw chicken thighs rather than breast :/ Overall extremely good food and value for money with decent portions and service.

It used to be one of my favourite London cheap eateries. I gave them 5 stars before. Not anymore 😞 They serve bento boxes and sushi rolls at a slightly above average quality with plenty of sauces as an attempt to mask over the lack of quality in their raw ingredients. But they now do it at a much higher price than before, with less customer service. It takes forever to get someone to your table to take orders. When I asked for the bill, their staff put a higher amount on the card machine without asking me. If you want decent food and service, go elsewhere.

Only an hour slot for eating in when we arrived. Food was tasted OK and the price was cheap. Overall experience was good. 110 pounds includes service charge for 3 people is a budget for whole table of food. We ordered 2 bottles of beers and a pot of green tea btw.

There’s a long queue when we arrive at 5pm (Sat.) but we didn’t have to wait for long (20-30mins) The food is good for the price. I like the fried octopus legs.. would be a great snack for beer or alcoholic drinks 😄 The bento for me is very good value.. many choices to choose from too. Only down point for me is the staff. One in particular is moody and not really have a service mind. 🥲

We came here as a big group (15 people!). The staff managed our big and varied order very well. The food is good. There are definitely better and more fresh spots in London but out whole group enjoyed their meal and this place is good value for sushi! If you area hungry for sushi and in the area, this is a good option. I wouldn’t recommend it for a date or small group, the interior is quite sterile and basic, nothing special!

Second time I've been to Eat Tokyo (Soho) and I wasn't disappointed. Food is tasty, and big portions for fair price. The single disappointment was the staff not being very friendly and kind of rushing us to leave. Also on Google the restaurant closes at 23 but that day they were closing at 22 instead. But overall good experience and good food.

Excellent sushi at a very fair price. They don't accept reservations, you just need to go and queue for a bit to get a table. I particularly recommended the scallop sashimi.

A fun place totally worth a visit, definitely a place to come multiple people. It’s like a Japanese tapas place, the do have bigger dishes as well if you only want one thing. Foods pretty good and the service is fast and good. Was a little queue when we arrived but we got in after 5min.

Not the best any more. It used to be many years ago. There are better Japanese restaurants for this price. Both my rolls are badly made. The staff are not friendly and look like they going to have a fight with you. No smile at all. I got there at 13:30 on a Sunday so the wait for a table was not that long, about 15mins, Over all will not go again. Plenty of better 1s to try.

One of the soho venues where you can see people queuing outside from early lunch time and here is why. The Food is AMAZING! Prices are super small for such a great quality and honestly now I do realise why people wait even in the rain. We’ve tried almost everything, tempura prawns seems to be just perfect, all sushi types heavenly good, ramen soup super tasty, sets great as well! All of this is just perfect, however… knowing the standards of service in London you may be surprised a bit. No friendly approach, no communication, no food coming together even if you asked, as well no one will clean your table even tho you’re out of space for next dishes. That was a surprise! Food hygiene level 3. Overall still positive visit and again… absolutely in love with food! 🥰

Eat Tokyo in Soho is an absolute gem that delivers an exceptional dining experience. From the moment I stepped inside, I was immediately captivated by the delightful ambiance, which made me feel like I had entered Japan itself. The sushi at Eat Tokyo was nothing short of amazing, each piece crafted with precision and bursting with authentic flavors. The freshness of the ingredients and the skillful preparation truly elevated the dining experience. The service was top-notch, with attentive and friendly staff ensuring a seamless and enjoyable meal. Moreover, the speed at which the dishes were served was impressive, making for a fast and tasty experience. Eat Tokyo has truly mastered the art of providing a delightful Japanese culinary journey in the heart of Soho. For anyone seeking an unforgettable sushi adventure paired with an enchanting atmosphere, Eat Tokyo is an absolute must-visit. I can't wait to return and indulge in more of their delectable sushi delights!

Extensive menu. Value for money. Always busy. Wait outside until a table is available. I would recommend the Chef's Sashimi Selection of the Day for sharing. Gyoza is good and so is the popular Katsu curry. I like also the Mackerel Salad.

The food was really good and the waiters were attentive. The miso soup was delicious...I almost forgot to take a picture! The bento was great too. I got there at around 2 pm so luckily there was no queue and got a table straight away. Lovely place and menu with a lot of choice!

You come here for the food. The menu is immense. This was my third trip -- I have always sat on one of the stalls by the bit where they prep the sushi. The place is packed with people coming and going and a reassuring "namaste" shouted on the arrival of new guests. It's popularity is probably because of the quality of the food and how delicious it is, the variety of dishes, the speed of service -- you can be in and out in 30/40 minutes -- and the price, which is very good value.

Stopped here for late night dining after watching a play. Small no frills Japanese eatery. Impressed by the quality of food and reasonable prices. Sushi was fresh and well presented. It was crowded and busy despite the late hour and is testament to its popularity.

Oh so delicious. Let me start with the service, it was great, welcoming and attentive. The food was very tasty, delicious and fulfilling. Between us we had a few dishes, i didnt try pork cutlet but was very very happy with what i ate. Spider roll *****

Went on Thursday for early dinner at 5plus and the restaurant is already quite crowded. Wide variety of food to choose from and the price for most items is reasonable. However, service was a bit slow and laid back. When one of the the staff serve food, her finger was touching the food, poor hygiene sense. Overall, I think it is more like 3 star then 4 star but this is just a personal opinion.

This is hidden gem in Soho. Authentic Japanese restaurant with reasonable price. You will have to queue up but it will be worth the wait. Good thing is that they do small portions and you can try different dishes. Black Cod was my favourite dish. If you like Japanese food this this is must go place for you.

I love the food here, good portions and good price. Some staff were attentive but others just ignore you, it’s a shame because they kind of ruin our experience. We will come back to eat but zero expectations about the service.

A decent quality of food with quick service. They have a great array of different Japanese drinks too! The veggie tempura had a light batter and the gyoza were full of flavour. The salad also had a great dressing. The service was a bit slap dash with no real Japanese like care and attention. The menu was also huge and unnecessarily overbearing. I was surprised by how cheap the food was. There is normally a large queue so get there early. Dress code: casual Cost: ££ Food: Great Service: Fast Ambience: Loud and lively

We tried booking a table for lunch at around 1:30pm on a Sunday but were told that it wouldn't be required and that there wouldn't be a queue. BUT, there was a queue when we reached the place, that continued on the other side of the street. (So it might be worth checking both sides before assuming it's a short queue and almost angering the already waiting customers, like we did🫢. Although some clearer instructions would have been better) Now, the food. Looads to choose from! It feels like the menu just goes on forever! You pick something to eat, and then you see something else two pages later and forget the first choice. But everything we ordered tasted fantastic. Totally worth waiting in the queue. Lots of options for sushi lovers. Definitely recommend trying this place.
