Thank you for such a lovely pre-theatre dining experience. I booked in advance and requested a quiet spot as my guest wore hearing aids. We were seated in a lovely quiet spot by the window. The venue is easy to find. The restaurant is huge, the decor resembles a British brasserie. The serving staff are very kind. They are cautious to all food allergies. The waitress was very attentive and smiled lots. The menu is extensive. Fresh tap water is provided without asking. The food is served quickly and piping hot. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. It is family and disabled friendly.

Since I have no much experience with Indian food, my judgment is not too trustworthy. I found most of the dishes too spicy, which prevented me to enjoy the dinner (it is highly likely my fault I am not used to this spiciness). There were only 2 kind of curries together with a few Iranian dishes, which surprised me as the restaurant is advertised as Indian. The portion are also a bit small, whereas I have always found them abundant in other restaurants. About the location: were seated downstairs and the smell of incense was a bit too strong, the light was too soft so reading the menu was not easy. The service was good. I believe there are better places than this to eat Indian food, although there was a very long queue outside so...there must be a reason I do not grasp.

A great place for breakfast or brunch. Wonderful atmosphere inside, amazing food and lovely staff. Worth a visit and look forward to coming back to try a different meal! We certainly didn’t need to eat again until evening with the size of the portions.

This restaurant is one of the best Dishoom places in London. Today was my second visit and it did not disappoint. Staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. They advised on whether the amount of food was sufficient for the number of diners and all were cheerful. The food was beautifully cooked and tasted beautiful. There was a long line to get in so I recommend booking a table beforehand. Will definitely come back. Thanks for a great meal.

The best Indian food I’ve ever had! Every dish was packed with flavour. You could really taste every ingredient put into the dishes. The roti wraps were well worth the try as they are so unique and easy to eat. Samosas we’re also a must try. So fresh! I’d highly recommend eating here if you can find a table!

This has been the best dining experience I've had since coming to London! A couple friends and I went on a Sunday night, and there was a really long line outside that you do have to wait in, but we were seated faster than anticipated! They offered everyone in line hot chai which was lovely. The food was incredible, so many vegan options, and they had the best chutney I've ever had, I was literally eating it by the spoonful on it's own! The service was so great, I've already been planning what else I want from there because I cannot wait to go back!! I highly recommend this restaurant!!!

Stopped in here for a late dinner based off a recommendation from an acquaintance. My wife and I both really enjoy Indian food, and are always excited to try a new place. This place did not disappoint! Even though we got there late, the place was still packed. We were able to be seated quickly, however, and the service was very good. We had drinks and appetizers, which were excellent. we shared a few small plates which were excellent. The food is fairly spicy, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but certainly there is some heat! Highly recommended!

For a restaurant chain this one was by far the best I’ve had - Indian restaurant. The service was excellent. Not too pushy, not too fast but the timing is just right. When the food comes, it’s still very fresh and you can tell that even when this is such a big restaurant, there’s a lot of staff and team members who make it work. I love the location there’s many but I went to the convent garden one and by far the displays and the way they set up the tables. It all works with the flow and it is very welcoming. The food I’ve never gone back to a chain restaurant twice. The food is just superb. Excellent and it was really really tasty. Different touch, different texture, and flavour every time I went. I would go back again if I had a choice, but all of the food that we chose was very delicious.

We visited first part of January 2022. It’s a very popular place with a lovely atmosphere. The staff was very attentive, food was delivered quickly, everything tasted really delicious. Reservations are usually required, but we did manage to get a table within a few minutes mid-day Sunday.

Amazing food. And the staff is super helpful in advising if you are lost in the menu or can’t decide what to try. The decor is great too, so the atmosphere is overall great. No booking for parties under 6, so there’s often a queue to get seated. It’s best to come just before lunch to get a seat quicker.

Landmark spot for some incredible Indian food! Each dish we had was better than the last. Service was good and price was fair. Since this spot is so well known you'll need to book a reservation weeks in advance or be prepared for a lengthy standby line. But it's all worth it!

What can I say? It was one of the best experiences in any restaurant I've been to. Table booked for 11:30 so I got to try the breakfast and lunch menus. Food was absolutely delicious and the ales they have go perfectly with the food. Everything was well cooked and the service was exceptional.

We went for an early dinner without a reservation, and a table was promptly provided for us. The waiter was very helpful and assisted us in choosing the dishes. We got the fried okra, which was a delightful experience, also we got butter chicken, I enjoyed its flavor with both bread and rice. We also ordered shrimp masala, which was tasty, though I expected it to be better. Overall, the restaurant atmosphere was lovely, and the staff were cooperative. It's worth trying more than once.

We had very warm customer service, and were explained the menu completely. We had lamb samosas to start, the chef's special fish, which was wrapped elegantly in banana leaves, and the chicken ruby. All came quickly and were delicious. It's not cheap but you get very nice food, good service and a nice atmosphere in return. 5*

Went on Thursday night with family for the soft re-opening post refurbishments. Staff were excellent and hosted amazingly. Food was as usual amazing. The new renovations are outstanding. I will miss the old decor, but with the massive expansion and generally up-to-date look. Would strongly recommend.

We came to this place around 2:30pm but the place was still very busy but they seated us straightaway. The space between each table was so tight that you would barely have any space to manoeuvre between two tables. The waiter that took the first order was friendly and efficient. However, there felt a general lack of either the staff or attention as once the food is ordered, it was very hard to get any attention from any staff including when my Roti did not arrive with my main course. There were some nice flavours in dishes like the chickpea salad but overall I didn’t find the food to be as exciting or flavourful as they sounded on the menu - lamb curry was quite plain and did not feel much of spice or heat, roti was quite dry and didn’t have chewiness.

We did have to queue for about an hour to get in but it was definitely worth the wait. The waiter serving our table was extremely knowledgable about every dish on the menu and told us about the history of the restaurant. The food was divine and really flavoursome. Our waiter couldn’t recommend the black daal enough - but this was a little bland so maybe stay away from that!

It's the third time I'm eating here. The food was great, amazing flavours combined perfectly. It's always a treat. The only thing we weren't very pleased about was the staff coordination. The place was very busy and I understand that it can be challenging at times, but the customer experience should come first. Our drinks arrived mid-way through the meal. Then, the rice we ordered with our second course did not arrive at all. We had to ask the team to cancel it and re-ordered a biryani, which came very fast.

I absolutely recommend this place for all those new to Indian food or those well versed. The waiter was extremely knowledgeable and able to direct us to a meal that hit the spot. Absolutely will come back.

A very good experience, staff were very helpful and kind. In terms of Indian food, it’s good, but there are better restaurants out there. The Ruby Chicken with Rumali Roti was very nice.

We had an amazing experience at Dishoom. Every stage of the experience was great. All staff were extremely kind and helpful at all time and were happy to assist you with anything. Excellent customer service. Food… all of our dishes had their own unique taste. So many flavours! So delicious! One very small thing that affected our experience, was their availability on their menu. It was 20:20 and they already had shortage on some dishes (I was extremely excited to have their lamb chops and they didn’t have any). Same happened to when it was time for dessert. Will definitely be visiting again.

Hands down to the best Indian food ever! Don’t scare of the big line up; it will not take more than 30 min to get a table and it’s definitely worth it! They brought some brandy liquor when we were waiting in the line. The staff are super friendly and happy!! Two storey restaurant with unique interior design. We got Alta fries (oh my! Super delicious) and Chaat to start, and Ruby and Chicken Bityani. Can’t say enough how they were delicious. The service is really fast… fantastic experience… highly recommended.

Nice decor, lively atmosphere, well presented tasty food. Can be quite hot so keep some water nearby. I particularly loved the papri chat starter. The cocktails were also excellent.

Authentic Indian taste. This one has a different theme than the king cross one. But seemed quite big inside. I am foodie and like my food. Overall I would give 4 stars. Menu is limited. Paneer wrap was quite good. Rest OK. Space nice and clean. Service a bit disappointing. If there is a family the food should be bought together for all at once not piece meal.

Lovely colonial type setting that reminds me of eating in similar places in Singapore. Beautiful Indian food and wonderfully balanced and not too rich and heavy unlike most Indian food in the UK. Highly recommended for big family meals

We arrived around 5:20 to be seated for a table of 6. The staff brought us warm chai drinks while we waited outside in the cold. It was lovely. The food was amazing and the experience was a must. Would definitely return! We ordered too much food but left with full bellies and happy hearts!

During a recent outing in London, I decided to stop for brunch at Dishoom, and what a delightful decision that turned out to be! It was, without a doubt, the best Indian food I’ve ever had in this city. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance of Dishoom set a warm and welcoming tone. The staff were incredibly friendly, ensuring that we felt comfortable and attended to throughout our meal. The menu offered a wide variety of dishes, each promising a taste of authentic Indian cuisine. I was impressed by the quality and flavor of the food served. The spices were perfectly balanced, delivering that signature Indian flavor profile without overwhelming the dishes. Every bite was a testament to the chef’s skill and attention to detail. What stood out to me was not just the food, but the overall dining experience.

Two floors of Bombay cuisine galore. Very iconic decor and furniture. The wooden chairs felt very fragile, and squiggly - not sure if that’s part of the Bombay vibe but I will assume not. The music and acoustics made it quite hard to speak across a table. The waiter was very friendly and explained the dishes clearly. He also cleaned the table after our mains. I did feel a bit pushy to add more items to menu - in fact we ended up ordering more than we had appetite for. I would say one small dish and two large dishes is more than enough for two ppl unless you are very hungry.

I've been here a few times and it used to be ok, not worth the hype but fine. Previously, they used to try to cater for my fennel allergy too. Instead, this time our waiter told me that the Chef couldn't serve me any food at all because "it [fennel] is in everything". Mind you, the Chef was struggling with cooking rice(!), which was overcooked and tasteless. The samosas have think, dense pastry, and the oil really does need a change. For the price - and the wait! - it's inexplicably bad. Photos show the leftovers... As you can see, my guest did not enjoy the food at all (I didn't get any food, although I did sneak a spoonful of rice)

Excellent Indian food. Me and my friend enjoyed a lot, Despite we waited for at least 30 minutes outside that day🤣 I suggest you make a reservation. The food surprises me most is the Mango Lassi! I even order another one to take away lol! Also you can try the lamb chops with multiple flavors of sauce. I love the green sauce with lemon, mint and coriander flavor. Last, the Nanh is a nice choice to have. In summary, do not miss it, and make a reservation in advance!

an overall lovely experience! didn’t need a booking for sunday. just walked in and no regrets. good food, environment and service. really loved their concept of bottomless house chai. try going around 11.30 to get this and enjoy lunch later from 12pm onwards.

This is one Indian restaurant in London which is different to any other Indian restaurant. First thing you would notice from outside the restaurant is the lines written on the glass in hindi, it's quite funny. The name of the menu items is quite creative. For instance, 'Kejriwal' would bring a smile to your face....it's an item on the menu. The ambiance is quite nice and the staff is very polite and helpful. The 'House tea' is bottomless and they keep refilling you glass. We had the Bombay Vegan, it was delicious and quite filling. All in all, a must go place.

Perfect place to come with friends! Everything was family style so you get to try a little bit of everything. Food was really delicious and so were the drinks. The wait can be long so be prepared to wait in line for about 30 min during dinner time. 10/10 would recommend!

  • 3/5 Mujavid B. 5 months ago on Google
Great in a pinch, but you can never visit in a pinch so it’s not worth it. There’s always a queue so you’ll have to either wait or make a booking. For the amount you wait and the money you spend it’s disappointing. I’ve visited a few times and tried many things. The okra fries stand out as a unique offering to try. Honourable mentions go to: vegan sausage roll, ruby chicken, and vada pau. Decor is stellar and service is usually good too. Depending on the branch seating can range from good to inconvenient to downright ridiculous table/chair placements. Have you ever tried eating curry sitting on a sofa off a coffee table? Who plans this stuff?

I’m totally in love with this place! LOVED the whole experience, the food is to die for! You can totally see that from my videos and pictures. The staff was great and the line outside was worth the wait.. like a whole line of people, stayed 20-30mins tops.

We were looked after by Frank during our visit. He was excellent at managing dietary requirements on our table, service was as quick as it could be and with a friendly smile. The food, as always, was good and there is a good range of options of meat and vegetarian dishes. They also have a good variety of cocktails if you want to try. The Bolly Bellini was very popular on our table.

  • 5/5 Mike 5 months ago on Google
It’s been on my list for quite a while, at least ever since I saw the huge queues of people waiting patiently outside, for a table. I visited on a Saturday night, and the queue went pretty fast. They offered us Chai while waiting in line, which was a nice gesture. The place itself is big and takes up two floors, the basement feels more intimate. The food was excellent, I recommend the grills and also the biryani. Really friendly service too, overall left happy and would definitely come back. Prices were very reasonable. The only thing I’d change is, I would visit for lunch rather than for dinner as the food is quite heavy.

Can't go wrong with dishoom for Indian food. The service is great and the food is always up to a good standard. There are long queues frequently so book if possible. I recommend the lamb dish. It was super smoky but not over cooked.

This place is always a favourite. Ryan wad looking after our table, his recommendations were worth going with, and also a surprise as I would have not really ordered them. Everything on the menu looks good, though. Bottomless chai 1st time I tried, it could just not get enough.

Reservations: high recommend to make reservations well in advance. Very popular location at lunchtime with long queue. With reservations, we were immediately seated even a few min early of appt time. Food: excellent food with lots of vegetarian, vegan & Gluten-Free options. Tofu also available as substitute for most dishes. Great range of options from mild to heavy spices - perfect for large parties & sharing! Location: short walk from Underground, close to Theatre district

  • 4/5 Mikica J. 1 year ago on Google
Pricey for the portions. Food was good but I’ve had much better Indian food in a local, family owned establishment. Found that most dishes had a sweet undertone. Vegetable samosas were bitesized and not worth the price. Service was friendly but slow. Some dishes were brought to our table without the server telling us which dish it was.

This was the best Indian restaurant that I've ever been in my life! The taste of the food, the quality and class of service is just extraordinary and AMAZING! Our host was Lisild and his recommendation was just perfect! Everything that he recommended we loved it! He clearly knew what he was talking about. His behaviour was the best I've ever seen in a restaurant worldwide!
