It is all good for that price range. The rooms are in reasonable condition, fresh white linen, comfortable mattress. You have shower rooms and toilets in same level, what are usually clean and in fair condition. It is true the cleaning in the rooms are not the best. The price is inclusive of free breakfast. Downstairs have the pub where you have 20% discount. Only problematic part, they don't have proper lockers for your backpack or suitcase. They have a very small size lockers where only fits a small backpack. Be prepared and bring your own padlock, and never leave high value there as they are not responsible for any loss.

We stayed here and the hostel was ok. It was clean but very small shower room and showers temperature was not consistent, you would either get very hot or very cold. We had to fill up our drink bottles in the toilet tap and no cooking facilities. They are more accommodating for their pub and restaurant guests. The beer garden was very nice. The hostel is very far from central London.

An amazing, and affordable place to stay if you wanna roam around London for a few days. The host was friendly, a small garden outside was peaceful and bonus, complimentary breakfast! The neighborhood was good too, you can find, Poundland, library and other food shops in walking distance! Would recommend it to experience!

When I arrived I was waiting quite a long time for check in. But when I saw the hostel I didn't mind. Nice and clean (a lot of stairs), everything is modern-ish. Disadvantage for some could be a bike, it had to be outside. There's a pub here which has few vegan options, mid price range. It can get very noisy when there's a wedding present like it happened to me. All overall great hostel for a good price. Security is great and if you fancy pubs there's just one downstairs

1 working shower between probably 25+ guests at the time I was staying. There were 3 more but they were in total disrepair and had obviously been that way for some time Uncooperative staff. For example setting out breakfast at the normal time but refusing to let any guests in because they'd arbitrarily decided that 31 Dec they were opening breakfast late even though staff were there at the normal time and could have allowed guests in to eat as normal. On checkout they were surprised we were checking out and scolded us for not announcing it to them the day before even though our booking was ending that day anyway. Was weird When we arrived one of our bookings was mysteriously not on their system and we had to rebook it. Two days later we were discussing with another person in our dorm who had the identical situation, except one of his party was forced to find somewhere to stay in London at ultra short notice because Birds was fully booked The bunks themselves were fine but that was about the only thing about this place which was not rubbish!

They cancelled my multi-day stay the week before due to their own scheduling blunder. No apology, no attempt to work it out. Didn't refund my money until I went to the 3rd party site. They didn't care and was slow to reply which made me scramble to get replacement at high cost.

Bed was comfortable, clean sheets, clean room, but the shower was meh. I would recommend bringing some sort of flip flops or shower shoes. The bathrooms were nice as well and the staff was helpful. You’ll have to ride the bus or the subway for a few minutes to get to the city but overall not too far away. Thanks for the stay!

In a time where pubs are what they used to be, we appreciated the staff and drink quality here. Thank you.

The hostel was ok especially for this price, the problem was just that it was extremely noisy. And i'm not talking about the music coming from bellow, that didnt bother us. We stayed in room 1 with 9 people in a dorm, floor was creaking, door shut pretty loud so we basically woke up everytime someone came in/got out. I got myself earplugs after a terrible first night and from then on I slept like a rose. By the way, we were always with less than 9 in the dorm. Would have liked to rate this hostel higher: breakfast included and loved Leytonstone (met some great people in town). Yet to me this hostel has some work. Would have rated it about three but the aweful night rest we had made us go for 2. Just some simple things like a spring that makes the door close softer would be really nice. Tl;dr: ok hostel, but if you stay in room one (9 person dorm with loud creaking floor) and have a lot of people moving around, your night will be a hell. Might be worth to pay those couple of pounds more for a hostel that is at least trying to avoid this. PS: room was VERY small for 9 people, small window on the roof... I've seen many better dorms for a lot cheaper even.

Good hostel. Quiet. 6 people per room in bunks. Low rates.
