This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. It is not worth the price. I stayed in 3 different rooms across two nights. All bathrooms had mold stains on the ceiling, one smelled like sewage, and the floor in one room buckled down into the ceiling of the room below (this was an upgrade from my second room). Also, kindof confident I awoke with flea bites on my last morning. Beds are old, vary in support. Sheets never seem large enough for the beds. The location is the only redeeming quality. It's really not worth the price though. The staff are friendly and accommodating. It's just not enough to redeem this place. When my friend booked it, he told me they were £200 a night. They were really £64 on Google (but that's another story). If I knew the actual price I would have left after the first night.

Given the location and price compatibility we were more than happy with our 4 day stay here. As noted in some of the reviews it is an older hotel and could do with some modernisation, as the rooms are very basic. Both our rooms were ready at 1pm, and we were allowed to check in early which was great. The room was cleaned each day and fresh linen left. I made a request when booking to have our double and single room located next to each other, this was noted and they did manage it. If your looking for a basic low to mid range cost room with no frills this should fit your needs. Located right across the road from a kings cross & St Pancras station it was perfect for transport during our 4 day stay in London 👍🏽 I gave this a 4 star rating based on the overall value for money, cleanliness, helpfulness during booking and check in/out.

Rooms are small and bed are tiny. We expected a double when we stayed but it was more like a 3/4 bed. It was abit of a pain with our suitcase because we was on the top floor and lift only went so high. Great location, really close to King's Cross. Staff was friendly and quick check in.

Rooms were extremely clean and we'll appointed with a smart TV that you can cast to; decent wifi signal and speeds; great shower and bathroom. The room was comfortable, not huge but more than adequate. I was staying alone in a double bed. Perfectly clean but the only thing that let it down was the comfort of the bed. The springs were really poor, I think the mattress should have been replaced a long time ago. But for the price and location nothing compares. Would definitely recommend for a couple nights as long as you don't mind potentially getting a sore back. I couldn't fault anything else though hence the high rating.

Last minute stay due to train cancellations, booked as cheapest option. Room ok, but vile smell coming from the bathroom. Bathroom door handle had come off, so made it difficult to open the door. Pillows dirty and towels ripped. Staff lovely though and tried their best If we had an option to change hotels and get a refund we would not have hesitated

I often bypass long and negative reviews, thinking their experience was a one-off, but please read the following. Do not stay here. This hotel is so poorly run. The only concern this hotel has about its business’ success is payment. It is clear that this hotel knows they do not need repeat customers and conduct business accordingly. I’m not sure where to even begin, but let’s start with their apathetic attitude. When we first walked in, the front desk attendant didn’t even look up. The lobby is small, there’s no way we went unnoticed. That lack of greeting continued throughout our trip, each time we entered the hotel over five days. Additionally, never once did they mention that there is a lift (elevator) available downstairs from the lobby, nor is there a sign in the lobby indicating such. Instead, they watched us lug all of our suitcases up the stairs visible in the lobby (on two occasions). No help, no concern. We discovered the lift on our own on day 2, after switching rooms (I’ll get to that later). Do not stay here. Understandably, none of the above may deter you from staying here. Fine, let’s get to the important part—the rooms. Ok, so we initially stayed on the first floor in a double (king bed) room. The room itself is tiny, and the bathroom is even smaller. The beds are nothing by sheets on top of springs (in both rooms). There are patches of random paint on the walls. The rooms are dusty, including the floors. The shelf in the shower of our first room was so rusted that it was more brown than chrome. The toilet seats are dirty and stained, leading us to either squat over or line the seats with tissue. Our second bathroom developed an odor resembling sewage even after they “cleaned” our room, so we consistently kept that door closed. Do not stay here. Housekeeping does not change or clean the bedsheets, because I saw my hair in the sheets after the room was again, “cleaned.” Neither of the shower doors close fully, causing a mess and slipping hazard when you exit. Yes, they did as little as possible to renovate the bathrooms, but the rooms are antiquated and *dusty*. They do not clean those hardwood floors. Think about all the dirt you’re tracking in from the streets of London…exactly. The duvet is paper thin and when we asked for another one because it gets cold at night, we were told no. Sometimes housekeeping didn’t even make the bed. Instead, they would fold the duvet into a square and leave it at the foot of the bed. Do not stay here. After night one, we were so dissatisfied that my husband went to the front desk to request a refund for the rest of our stay in the morning. We wanted to change hotels, but they would not give us our money back. Instead, they offered us a different room (triple bed room) on the third floor. The associate my husband spoke to took up the stairs (not the lift) so he could walk through the room. After he viewed it, we elected to move, and still there was no mention that we could use the lift to move our things easily. Do not stay here. The WiFi is spotty at best. Our first room did not have Netflix, but our second one did. Expect your tv to buffer most of the time. I know that the price and location may be alluring, but there’s a catch —the quality of accommodation. Here, you honestly get less than what you pay for. Do not stay here. Other: We didn’t even bother with their complementary breakfast, so I can’t speak to that. I never tried the coffee/tea in the rooms because if they can’t clean sheets, then they cannot be trust to clean drinking mugs.

The hotel itself was adequate. It is cheap and there is a reason. Location is good. That is only benefit. The customer service however is POOR. No fluent English speaking which is maybe why we struggled. They have taken a pre authorisation on one card and took full payment on another. Will need to wait 30 days for them to release funds. Be careful as they don't tell you this amount of time when booking. Also our bathroom drains stunk so bad and when we asked them to change our room, they gave us a room that someone had checked out of and hadn't been cleaned . Imagine seeing other people's dirty bed / bin / bathroom. Atrocious customer service. It's a good stay if you don't mind the above. Would not be suitable for people with kids. Adults / travellers can cope with the place hence a 2 star.

The price was very high was a very bad room and very bad sevice at the reception as well. There is so refund policy here, and only one out of the many reception members was polite. Rest of the reception staff was rude, said mean things to me only when my request was to turn down the noise. There is a sewer just beside this hotel, and the smell reaches until the 1st floor as well. Never book your stay here, rather spend your money on good hotels beside this place.

If we consider the price/quality ratio - the hotel is fantastic. When it turned out that this hotel was booked for me for the trip, after checking reviews on the Internet I had a lot of concerns. However, upon arrival it turned out to be a very decent, clean hotel located in one of the best location points of London. Of course you would expect larger rooms and bathrooms - but the truth is that such a standard in the center of big cities is very expensive. King Cross Inn is located next to both a tube station and a train station - which makes it easy to move around the city, but also for a day trip to Oxford or Cambridge. If you are looking for a hotel to spend the night in and a base to explore London, this is one of the best options.

This hotel is tired, makes zero effort with their customer service and has an ambiguous cancellation policy meaning they can rip people off who either can't or don't want to stay (even when they think they are cancelling in time). They don't clearly define their terms anywhere on their site or FAQs. Clearly all the management cares about is money and not the guests staying with them. It may be convenient to the railway station but beware - there's a reason why it's so cheap. If you're looking for a pleasant surprise or secret gem, this doesn't fit that definition.

We stayed for 4 nights. Unfortunately, there is nothing good to say about this hotel. The room is tiny and old. The beds were saggy and we had massive back pain after the first night. The service was outstanding unfriendly and on top aggressive. There haven’t been enough towels for 2 persons in the room. We asked for additional ones which have been removed by the cleaning stuff (out of our closed bags!). The hairdryer was disgusting as well as the window. We needed to clean them before we could touch them. There was no WiFi during the stay, they told us due to the construction area in front of the Hotel. There has been neither a friendly word nor a compensation although we have been asking for it several times.

DONT STAY HERE! It is MICE INFESTED. The room was dirty when we came into the room blood on the sheets and the bathroom smelt like sewage. Avoid at all costs when i asked for a refund I was told no and I can get 50% off next time as if I would step foot near this place again. I had a full on panic attack the man working there at the time saw this and still said nothing we can do! Disgusting service from the worker here. Just avoid unless you want a mouse on your face when you wake up in the morning! I certainly don’t.

Stay away from this hotel! I came in London for a conference and I needed a hotel nearby the place that the conference was taking place. First of all I am not judging the hotel generally, I am judging it in relation with other hotels in London, in the same price range. The only person that works in this hotel is the girl that cleans the rooms. The rooms were clean and tidy. Of course except the hairdryer that it was so dirty that you could get ill from malaria or smallpox... Of course I am kidding but it was disgusting... The were no any isolation in the rooms. I could here the guy in the next room snoring the hole night long. Also there was always a very loud noise in the room that made it impossible for me to relax or even sleep. The persons at the reception are really bad, they do not behave us they should. The answer you with one word and they do not even look at you when you are talking to them. I had a problem with the water in my room. I told them that it was warm like to cold, in any case it was not comfortable at all. Now it is the fun part. The guy from the reception came to my room, he put his hand in the shower and told me that it was warm and I should wait to get warmer. So, guess what. Yes, it was warm to wash your hands but not for having a shower. Also I waited a lot, for three days actually. The water was cold and the bath was a nightmare that should happen really, really fast with cold water. Come on guys, respect the customers. Change the room or do something to fix the problem. Overall the rooms were fine and clean, quite small with a really small bed, but fine. The bathroom was recently renovated but with cold water. Some metal parts in the bathroom were rusty and a little bit dirty but this was the less important thing. Overall, this hotel could be really good. But because of everything that I described I spent three really really bad nights there. I would never go back again, you can find better hotels in London within the same price range. People work hard to spend their money to hotels. You should respect them and also respect the money they give to you.

Lets be clear...I'm basing my stars on the general experience of the hotel rather than the actual hotel industry 😂 This isn't a 4 star hotel by any means but man, it's a great location. It's relatively clean, comfy and if you just need somewhere to rest your head after a gig or night out in LDN it's a great choice. Public transport links to the rest of LDN and the UK are less than 500m from the front door, there's food and shopping within a similar distance. I'd go back again!

bless the workers hearts here. I'm sure they deal with a lot of hardship working at a busy place like this. that being said, the functionality and comfort of the rooms are really lacking. it's really hit or miss here in terms of the AC unit (my group were distributed throughout 3 rooms), and the one in mine worked horribly. it got really muggy and uncomfortably warm after a couple hours at night. > note: the only significant air we get was opening a window. if you don't have problems with the sound of traffic, the lack of an AC at night is a minor inconvenience. the other rooms' AC units worked fine, i believe. although all the beds aren't the best, they could've been much worse. other than the AC, our biggest concerns/complaints were various small things to do with the bathrooms (water pressure, toilets, sink faucets, shower heads). edit: they are making a great effort to fix this AC. the service is worth the minor inconvenience

Location is a 2 min walk from station. Despite the negative reviews, I figured the location itself would make the family happy and we would overlook not staying at a "nice" hotel in favor of a short walk. Check in staff could care less, no elevator, up multiple flights with luggage and baby. Room looked more like a hostel, AC didn't work. Front desk claimed "give it some time" and placed a fan in our room overlooking two fighting pigeons and mounds of poop. Room never cooled down, called front desk again, they advised "why do you need AC? it's cold outside and most hotels in London don't have AC anyways." UH...BYE. We left, no refund (didnt care) and booked a room somewhere else. Buses are SO EASY and effective to take. Even if the hotel seems far away (as in 10 minutes even from this one) GO THE DISTANCE and be sure you're arriving to a place where things work and are clean.

in front of the St. Pancras/Kings cross train station. The closest underground station is a few steps away too, as well as the bus station. Shops, affordable restaurants, etc, are right there too. Honestly, this place takes the cake when it comes to convenience. -The room: was very small but clean and with the necessities. The shower was updated and we always had clean towels every day. The hotel staff is very friendly and get what you need upon request. However, the bed was awfully uncomfortable! We were 100% sure it was a futon because we could feel the springs and it was difficult to get proper rest because of it. Our backs hurt so bad everyday we stayed here and I think the owners should get actual mattresses. -Restaurant: we were told we would get free breakfast but this wasn’t true. We got a 10% discount instead.

It’s the location and the price. You should close your eyes for the rest. The shower was weak and maybe the wall is too thin. I heard all sorts of noises. Room is truly small. I barely could open my suitcase. Staircases and elevator is a nightmare. Will I stay there next time? Maybe not.

Staff disinterested and while beds were comfy and bathroom modernised with nice shower - the windows in room 319 might as well have not been there. Broken and dangerous, if a child had leaned on it they could fall out easily.

Good location, clean room, a bit tired, but constant traffic and horns made sleep virtually non existent. Someone above us was walking around the room and scrapping furniture from 3am until 4am ish. Won't be returning again.

  • 1/5 Dilli G. 6 months ago on Google
The beds are actually cots the cots were shoehorned so that they were touching each other and you had to climb over to get in the second bed. The staff refused to give us a second key card even though one was required to turn the power on to the room. It's after midnight and I can hear the subway cars, the traffic on the street outside and a group of loud obnoxious men because the walls are paper thin. The doors to the other rooms slam and shake the room. I'm really not picky, I just need a room where I can get a night of sleep. I can't get it here. Definitely do not recommend.

  • 4/5 Zaine P. 7 months ago on Google
The room was fine, as expected. You book here for the stellar location. Only gripe was the towels they gave us had a couple of minor stains. Obviously old ones so not concerned. A great bonus was that they held our luggage after checkout at no cost for 6 hours.

  • 3/5 Carla K. 6 months ago on Google
Beds were uncomfortable. ALL Staff were unkind in communications at the property. Location was great that’s why we chose it. Great location is the only plus I can say about this hotel. The lift was not useful you still had to carry luggage up multiple flights of stairs to get to your room.

  • 3/5 peterhuli 1 year ago on Google
Impromptu booking as had to get an early morning Eurostar. Bathrooms clean and modern, the room was just ok. Stayed in a room near reception and loads of footfall and people talking loud... paper thin walls and wouldn't recommend to anyone looking for a quiet sleep.

  • 4/5 Adenike A. 5 months ago on Google
The Inn is right across the station, so it's very accessible. It is also within walking distance of several food shops serving a variety of options. Your rooms are cleaned, and items are replaced daily. If you're a light sleeper, the station is a bubbly area. You should maybe ask for a room away from the front.

Do not recommend staying here at all!!! Me and my friends booked this hotel 3.5 months prior to staying here, when we arrived at the hotel they didn’t have our booking so we had to fill out forms - luckily they had a room spare or we would have been stranded in London. The room was dirty, air con full of dust, mould on the window sills. To bring up the worst, my £100 perfume was stolen from my bag which stayed in the hotel room at all times - as well as other ‘minor’ things which were stolen from bags. The perfume was there on the Sunday morning and when we came back Sunday evening the ‘cleaners’ ( who didn’t even clean our room ) left towels on the chair next to my bag - they could’ve left it on the bed next to the door if they wasn’t going to clean our room? The following morning I then realised my perfume had gone missing. We checked the room top to bottom - to realise someone else who had access to our room could have stolen it - potentially one of the cleaners? When emailing the hotel management they completely lied and said they had offered us to move rooms - this never happened, unless they have us mixed up for someone else! They also completely denied anyone going into the room. It is unfortunate as this place could have potential and if the management were willing to help us with the upset they’ve caused then we wouldn’t have to be taking this further. Just to warn anyone who has already booked or were thinking of booking.

Needed a place to crash and they delivered. My single room got upgraded to a double and twin room, which was nice. Lots of space and a fridge. Unfortunately it was in the sub-basement which meant I got a lot of rail noise both late at night and early in the morning.

When we checked in we were offered a very bad room from which, water was not getting cleared from basin, no WiFi connectivity had to argue for another room. There was No kettle in the room.. Arrogant staff.. False claim on Google that they offer free breakfast. There is NO BREAKFAST at all. I will NOT recommended this Hotel to anyone, there are good Stay options available around and in Similar rate.

The hotel is cheap and clean. But the staff are thieves. They stolen perfume from our room and then denied it. Management aren’t prepared to do anything about it. Booking.com reviews suggest we are not the only victims of theft. If you want to keep your valuables don’t stay here

Room was clean, Bathroom was what you would expect for the price range and location. Very low water pressure on hand washing taps, shower was wierd water went everywhere but good enough for a wash. Toiletries supplied. Check in was easy and pleasant, key card entry on main door so can return at any hour without being locked out

  • 4/5 Fiona R. 1 year ago on Google
The room was clean (immaculate) though the walls are thin enough to hear your neighbours' conversations - earplugs are a must. The views are fabulous and the location is what makes it. If you have an early morning train to catch, it's a 10-15 minute stumble from bedroom to boarding.

If this is all you can afford, it was fine. It was very close to the station. It was clean Service at the front desk was okay. It was so noisey inside and out The bet was tiny and sloped to the middle really bad The hallways were small and stairs were steep - not great with luggage

  • 2/5 Kareem M. 1 year ago on Google
The only good thing is the location. Very unfriendly and unhelpful staff, entire system disorganised with rooms that are not cleaned properly or regularly. Lift access is poor (need to use a staircase to get to the lift). Paid for late checkout (£30), reminded the staff twice and they came into my room without consent before checkout time as well as deactivating my room key before checkout time. Absolutely ridiculous!

DO NOT STAY HERE. From the beginning he was very rude and I tried to be calm and polite- he kept speaking over me and kept walking off and shutting the door as I was speaking to him. Rudest staff I have ever encountered! I planned to stay here with a group of friends (everyone is 19+) and brought my cousin who is 17. they refused entry as I'm not her mum even though as an adult I act as a guardian. her mum called the hotel to tell them it was fine and one of the staff members then requested an email be sent (which is fine). In the process of her mum writing the email he came over to be with the phone in his hand asking me to read out the booking policies to him- very embarrassing and disrespectful. This however, did nothing because it states children must be with an adult- which they are? it does not specify parents only. I have travelled with this cousin before and no hotels had an issue as I am 18+ HE THEN RANDOMLY SAYS GO ELSEWHERE IVE CANCELLED YOUR BOOKING BYE? this is all despite we were having my cousins mum send the email with written consent - which is what he asked for, throwing us out onto the streets where we had to sit for 2 hours desperately trying to find somewhere to stay as a group of girls before dark.

It is located very close to Kings Cross and St Pancras Station. My room was quite and clean. Beds are not very comfortable. Single bed is really small. Housekeeping works very well. My room was cold at night, I couldn’t see any heating actually. I recommend not to stay with kids and infants.

At the price, I can't complain. I can watch TV in bed. The shower is good and it's a nice clean room. I could have paid a lot more but those key points wouldn't change.

I had to stay here after train strikes made my trip more complicated. They will charge your card on top of you room booking for 170 pounds. Now keep in mind I had two suit cases weighing 23k (50 lb) and just finished a 11 hour flight.. the staff put me in a room that was in the basement. I had to go up and down 7 sets of stairs. The light outside my room door was straight out of Silent Hill. The tv didn't work at all and the water facet in the sink was so beyond broken. If you tried to get hot water the entire and I mean ENTIRE spout fell over and sprayed water on the floor. After having to truck my large bags down there I did not want to move rooms I was tired. I don't say this often but I will never stay here again.

A lovely hotel. Exactly what i paid for. The bathroom was extremely clean and even had one of those bath tvs. The bed was very comfy. Close to an underground station but not too loud. Amazing location, close to things but not busy. I highly recommend.

Location is amazing room is as shown in photo. Don't expect 5 stars but for the price paid wouldn't expect 5 stars. It was clean, welcoming and staff very helpful. I will stay here again.
