Combination of old and new, relaxation and sport. By the lake: sculptures from 1854 giving a hint to how people previously imagined dinosaurs (they were "new" scientific discoveries at the time). The opposite side, about 15 minutes walking, the very tall mast (200+ meters up in the sky, built in 1930s) for radio, tv and telecom antennas. Many people use the generous spacious green areas for pick-nick, or simply relaxing in the sun. A sporting centre in the middle.

Despite living in South London for over 2 decades, I'd never heard of the Crystal Palace dinosaurs until recently. I found it really fascinating to learn that the Victorians imagined dinosaurs to look like this. The park itself is gorgeous - full of greenery and very serene, despite the many children and the random DJ blasting music! Definitely worth a visit.

After many years of attending the National Sports Centre whilst growing up I finally got to hang out with the dinosaurs. They were great. We put the world to rights over a lovely coffee from the cafe.

Words fail to express how much I love these funky little dinosaurs. They are wildly inaccurate compared what we now know dinosaurs looked like, but there really is something to standing on a path and looking at the same creatures people looked at more than a hundred years ago, united in a sense of wonder. It seems to be a great place for children as well--every time I visit, there seem to be many kids running around absolutely delighted.

Super amazing place. Next to sports centre, plenty of parking space, plenty of options to eat. Kids will love this place. To be honest, it's a fun place. Must visit at least once.

Big green park with impressive big dinosaurs. In the park there is a tennis court, beach volleyball and beautiful flowers and trees. If you love dinosaurs you don't want to miss this park. The dinosaurs are there from almost 180 years and they represent many species of dinosaurs of how they thought they looked at the time. It is a really cool place to visit.

Went in February half term for a circuit around the lake. Dinosaurs were a little far off but interesting none the less. The paths, however, were treacherous with mud in places, a little gritting would have been beneficial. Bring wellies!

Stunning! Definitely worth the long trip to see these guys ❤️ The rest of the park is nice too, a decent cafe not too pricey, nice cup of tea and friendly staff. Also the little college farm is lovely.

It is a nice park to walk. It is a good place to have a picnic while looking at the classical dinosaur statues. It was overcast when I went, but it would be really nice to go when it's sunny!

Spent some time in the park during the weekend and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Just can't possibly get tired of London parks.

Fabulous display of dinosaurs and other ancient animals. They are situated within some lakes and I believe are original Victorian sculptures. They are fenced off and are not for children climbing etc. They are fascinating and a lovely insight into prehistoric animals and Victorian history. The pathway also makes a very pleasant walk. The area is surrounded by lovely cafes and also a fun pedalo pond. Really worth checking out!

This was really amazing to see. Brilliant for my little paleontologist and we had a great time in the park and in crystal palace just around the corner.

The models need some tlc, and the surrounding grounds are overgrown making it difficult to see some of them.

Great day out exploring this park with the kids. We were tempted to try the pedalos, but got caught up searching for the dinosaurs and exploring the park. The kids asked to go back there as it was so much fun. I can recommend the Almond Brownies from the park cafe too!!

We went ,it was freezing but grandson loved it! Once we found the trail to see the dinosaurs it was all systems go! There are regular signs identifying the types that you will see. A bit disappointing that they are so far away, however the local wildlife (mostly birds & squirrels) made up for it. The water was frozen over so we got to see so many different birds. Didn't have time to go to the cafe as we spent over an hour walking around the lakes. The gorilla was an absolute hit! I did see what looked like a good playground but ,again, it was too cold to go there after walking round the dinosaurs trail. Thoroughly recommend this park and will definitely return when the weather is better!

Nice park, family friendly, kids loved the big dinosaur statues. Can't believe it's been there since 1854!

Underwhelming. The Dinosaurs are interesting, but outclassed by practically every other dinosaur Park. The actual play park is uninspired, and several things were out of commission. We travelled from Kent for it. Wish we hadn't.

Fascinating to see what was known about dinosaurs 150 years ago and to compare with what we know now.

  • 5/5 Bianca H. 2 years ago on Google
Great experience in the park. Cafe buzzing, with a rather rude member of staff unfortunately, but most of the ladies were OK. I won't be going to the cafe again, but the park is great..

Thought there would have been some more dinosaurs here since my last visit over 20 years ago. Still good, could be better, but ok.

Love going to Crystal Palace Park with the kids so much to do and so much history preserved there. As you can see my toddlers favourite part was jumping in the puddles and being the dinosaur she is lol. Great place for kids (of all ages) to be kids Only reason 4 stars because the cafe (by the Dinosaurs) is so expensive. Haven't tried the others for a long time so I won't comment on them. Think we will see how the others are or in future I'll be packing a flask.

They may look a bit odd, but these are part of the historical Great Exhibition and show what Victorians thought dinosaurs looked like and the lake is nice too.

  • 5/5 Scott O. 10 months ago on Google
We really liked this park which is free to visit and has some huge (life size) dinosaur statues hiding in the park and in the water! Lots of areas to explore, coffee/refreshments at a few spots along the way, play parks and a small pedalo lake too. Well worth a visit and easy to get to on Overground (Penge West or Crystal Palace stations)

This is a humongous park with birds. There is a good running track and kids play area. There is a lake and many artifacts are kept in the park. They are though not well maintained. This is a good place to bring young kids. The kids play area has swings, sand playing area and turning wheels. However there were no slides. There is a lot of vegetation and a must visit place during summers. There is a cafe inside the park which is inexpensive.

A superb walk. History and information everywhere good for all ages. Lovely birds on the water and banks. Didn't try the cafe to busy on the day I visited but looked nice

Great park and amazing to see such old and well made dinosaurs, especially like the signs showing what scientists think they look like now. Just a shame one has a broken off mouth but I'm guessing there are funding issues. Would also be good to get the fallen tree removed so you can easily access the dinosaur next to it (although it's pretty hard to see because of the trees anyway). Kids loved it though and will be back.

Good place to bring children. The dinosaurs are fenced off and are not in perfect order (or anthropologically correct) but were originally a Victorian attraction. Good place for a walk around the lakes.

Beautiful park! Lots to see and do. The original architecture and statues are beautiful. We visited on a Wednesday and it was busy but not packed (the playground was very busy though) The gardens surrounding the dinosaurs are gorgeous and well maintained. Can't believe how good they look for how old they are! Quite a few benches for having a rest on the walk. Lots to see and a good place to spend and hour or 2 in the sunshine!

Great place for kids and adults. Nice playground for the youngest and space for picnics with tables. Also have cafe. It easy to get from train station. I recommend to visit for everyone. Green place in south part of London

I absolutely loved seeing the comically large dinosaur models that they designed in the 1800s. There are dinosaur models in the enclosure and you can read lots of useful info about them, including what archeologists now believe the dinosaurs looked like. Very fun to walk around there!

Love this park. Love the dinosaur statues. Love the boat lake. A tad on the small size but useable for a local boat ride. Lovely café. Nice children's playground with a good sized sand pit. Also, fun fair are regularly hosted within the park. Lots to do and a GLL leisure centre adjacent giving an extra tick box to the park. A nice array of a restaurants around the Crystal Palace triangle. Lots to do and great restaurants nearby!!

Really lovely park as a whole however the swing park is more suited to smaller children and could do with a climbing frame and slide for older Primary School children.

  • 4/5 Shane F. 3 years ago on Google
Dinosaurs need some more love and attention but it's still pretty cool for kids to see. Tracks/paths this time of year is just mud and puddles so prepare to be filthy by the end of your walk. If your child loves dinosaurs I recommend highly and even if they don't I'm sure they will still enjoy. Also there is a cafe that is still open if you need anything which is a huge plus.
