This is a lovely open space to explore. It's great to get away from the hustle and bussel of London. It's free to enter, and our walk exploring most of the park was 1.7 miles. There's also a large rose garden, cafe, and garden centre on site. Would be a lovely place to have picnics in the summer.

Beautiful spot at the edge of Morden town Center. Huge public park with cafe, garden Center, little bookshop and even a school. It’s got old water… errr …. machines, I guess. Things used for deriving power or controlling water flow. One day I’ll read the plaques and update the review, but it’s stunning. Never seen anyone there not at peace, how could they be! There are so many little bridges to stand on and watch the water flow. Beautiful. Truly beautiful.

Such a lovely park for a stroll, picnic and more. You've got a beautiful river Wandle flowing though the park, it's really peaceful to sit and watch the water flow. I would highly recommend you visit.

Great national park! The space is wide, wild, with many hidden corners! I highly recommend to pay a visit to Deen’s animal farm - feed some animals and pay a visit to the botanical garden as well. Lovely place to spend a full day in.

A beautiful , beautiful park in the heart of Morden. We visited to do their Easter trail. It was lovely to walk around the grounds. First time visiting and if it wasn’t so far from my house (I live close to essex), I would definitely visit more often. The trail was more suited to older children however but it was a nice time out. We veered of to Deen City farm which we came across by accident and was less than a ten minute walk away, which was definitely a bonus.

A beautiful garden to explore and walk around. There's a 200 year old mill, cafe, book shop and all the other usual facilities that National Trust places have. The wetland boardwalk is really nice, it's a rich habitat full of life with plenty to see. You'll forget that you're in an urban area entirely and get lost in nature in the middle of Morden. Definitely worth a visit, you can also visit Deen City Farm which is a short walk to the north where the children can play and feed the sheep and goats with animal feed that you can purchase from the shop. Overall a great day out for the whole family!

Huge, beautiful park in London, in the Borough of Merton - there is a tram stop near by. You can walk in for free but the National Trust have a paying car park. I think the first hour and a half is free and the price goes up in stages, up to £6 for 5 hours (the max you can stay). There is a National Trust cafe, second hand book shop, and garden centre. The park has long, meandering paths, many in deep woods so it can be very muddy. It's a great places to let children explore but there are no playing fields.

I enjoyed this place, fair bit of parking, great open spaces, wonderful second hand book shop with a good selection of books for all ages. Wasn't as enjoyable for the kids as the outdoor play area is a bit rubbish, not really much there except a simple climbing frame and a zip line. But great if you are looking for a place to have a walk. The garden centre is okay as well, not much in there compared to other garden centres but worth a visit if you are local. Could probably spend a couple of hours in the park without getting too bored.

One of my favourite parks in London, great for dogs or for a family day out. There are woods, rivers for the dogs to swim (avoid the main river you see, and walk around the sides of the park), and green fields. Beautiful rose garden as well.

Nice park at the end of the Northern Line underground. It has a number of really interesting features, like a wetland zone, woodland and large open spaces. It is traversed by the river Wandle and has conveniences and a large garden centre. Not so large to make it impossible to visit it all in one visiting session, and conveniently situated close to the underground exit. Worth a visit for a sun-filled day out

This park is always well-kept, stunning all year round, more so in the rose garden is in bloom. When it’s a hot day children and adults like to cool down in the river, which is clean but would recommend having footwear on. Car park gets full but has an overflow car park. The garden centre is open with an aquarium at the back. Two cafés are available to eat and on the weekends there is a truck serving ice cream and snacks.

Lovely rose garden, helpful gardeners as the map is being updated with the new varieties. Friendly staff in the second hand bookshop and garden centre ( with a stream running through it!) Didn't have time to check out the cafe or walk through all the park but enjoyed everything I did.

A free to enter National Trust property in the outskirts of London. The vast park has plenty of green space and trails for nature lovers. While there is not a stately home to visit, the park has a well-stocked garden centre, two cafes and a visitor centre. The car park is free for the first 90 mins (be sure to get a ticket to display on the dashboard).

I visited Reigate Hill on an autumnal morning and followed the Margery Wood, Walton Heath and Colley Hill circular trail. There are some amazing views here - stunning. The weather was a bit all over the place - raining and then lovely sunshine in a matter of an hour! I will say bits of the walk were quite challenging, firstly, due to some muddy areas and then secondly, some very steep slopes but I think I took a wrong turn which meant I tackled a steeper slope than I should have! All in all though, this is a beautiful walk which I’d definitely recommend.

a large park with many leisure options. full and busy. however, being spacious, you can find a place to sit with the family. there is a little lake where I already have children playing in the water, there is a playground and a super nice tree that the children climb. the first 1.5h are free. in short: the park is very good! there is a mini food court where they sell food, ice cream…. the car Parking is not that big (proportionate to the size of the park) but I always find a space. a clean park, wide area and very pleasant. beautiful backdrops for photographs

This is a National Trust site with free parking for 1.5hrs. What a beautiful park with a lot of things to with Children. Lovely water features of river Wandle. You can visit the Deen’s farm to see some cute animals, have a coffee break at the cafe, there’s a horse riding school too. Also a garden centre if you fancy picking up some garden plants!

Sandwiched between busy roads, tram and rail lines it's an oasis of calm. Check out the wetlands walkway which is a wooden platform suspended above the marsh. Big open areas and hidden pathways to explore. Great for dogs and kids and no matter what time of year always a nice trip.

A dog walkers heaven, a walk that feels like you've stepped back in time to London 200 years ago. Some very special trees hidden among the copses and woods here. Beautiful, old buildings and the stream that runs through it is cooling and soothing. Wonderful at any time of year. Good cafe and garden centre also.

Love this venue. Good parking. Excellent cafe where the cakes are always good value for money. The National Trust bookshop in the old stables is always worth a visit. Well stocked garden centre. Beautifully kept location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lots of wildlife to spot in the park.

Morden Hall Park is one of the sites looked after by National Trust. Being situated near the local amenities makes this place a great spot to spend time alone, with your pets, friends or even family. If you do not want to bother carrying much food to the site, you can buy some tasty scones or hot chocolate on the two cafes on site, one of which is a dog-friendly cafe. Due to Covid-19 Restrictions, food and beverages are available for takeaway only. Toilet is available at least at one of the cafés. There are lots of interests at this site ranged from strolling around and enjoying the sights, jogging, having a picnic, taking pictures, photography, beekeeping, observing wildlife in their habitats, finding stuff for your garden, pond and aquarium, even organising an unforgettable moment such as a wedding event at a beautiful building embellished by picturesque surroundings. For you who enjoy the serene atmosphere, I would recommend you to be early so that you can immerse yourself in nature. The best moment to hunt some nice pictures is usually either in the morning or in the afternoon when the sun gives you perfect shimmering golden light (However, the sunny day in winter is just perfect from sunrise to sunset). Even a hazy foggy misty weather could give some dramatic effects on the pictures you take. After a rainy day, the terrain could be a little bit muddy. Choosing the correct gears could make the most out of your adventure here. Therefore, checking the weather before visiting is beneficial, depending on your point of interests. Bins are available around, either for general waste or for dog waste. Due to high number of visitors, the bins are often full. Most of visitors take the ownership of keeping this site clean and beautiful. I personally do not mind taking my rubbish with me and throw it later somewhere else. Every single visit is a unique experience. I would recommend for you to explore it in different types of weather, time and occasion.

Great place to visit and awesome views from the top. Things to look out for is the historic footbridge, the monument to a WW2 bomber crew that crashed into the hill, Reigate Hill Fort and the moment at the top of the hill with panoramic views. Popular with dog walkers and ramblers.

Fabulous place. If you are lucky enough to get a parking spot in the rather small car park (where there's a great cafe and free toilets too) you have a half mile walk past the Edwardian castle and the B17 memorial before the vista opens up to a large sloped grass area with probably one of the most spectacular views in the south of England. The countryside rolls in front of you like a living painting and it has to be one of the best picnic spots I've ever seen. And free! (Including parking!) Go early; go often.

Lovely London open space with wetlands and parkland adjoined to Historic buildings. Cafe, toilets, learning Centre and crafts within. Limited access to the Manor. Nice place to walk around, view nature with running room for kids to explore. Close to Morden underground station, last stop south end of the Northern Line. Free entrance with car parking. Again free for 90min.

Nice grounds, child and dog friendly. Pretty river and lake. Not much else of interest really. No access to the house, very little to see. Bring your own lunch as the café prices extortionate! £4.65 for a slice of cake. Café ran out of 3 dishes so not much choice. Shop prices are just as expensive. Disgusting really.

Well looked after, clean and helpful staff. Good for the family. Would like to give more stars however there are safety issues, if you are walking, have disability or allowing children to run ahead, bikes and runners are all using the same walkways and tend not to slow down.

For somewhere in the middle of the M25 it's a small green haven of nature. Fairly busy with kids, and bits of the area closed off because of covid. It's an interesting National Trust property with some industrial heritage (parts of a snuff mill) alongside lots of trees, millstreams and ducks, geese and other wildfowl. They had a nature trail to encourage the kids to look at different sorts of trees, which my eight year old daughter loved.

  • 5/5 Simon D. 3 years ago on Google
Run by the National Trust this park is different perhaps from many in London as there is so much wetlands and a river (Wandle) flows through it. Many footbridges and even water wheels originally made for grinding tobacco into snuff. There is much to see and explore here, including a Victorian stableyard which has been renovated into a very pleasant cafe. There is even a second hand book shop. This south London park is easy to reach, especially on the Underground as the Northern line station, Morden, is very near.

We went to the National Trust café in Morden Hall Park Morden. As you can see from the photo the Male chef is preparing food and NOT wearing any PPE equipment !!! Hasn’t the National Trust told or Trained there staff staff about Covid 19? Nice walk with features on way, enjoyed the 3.3 mile walk but nt instructions not very good so easy to get lost. 100m difference in elevation makes the walk difficult for older and younger walkers. Free parking but get there early to avoid it being full. Amazing views towards South Downs. Constant din from m25 is worth ignoring. Fort, ww2 crash site, ‘temple’, belties and plenty to see on way. A new favourite walk for family with teenagers

We went for a jog on a weekday evening when it wasn't busy. STUNNING views from across the hill with a decent mix of woodlands. You can get a decent walk/jog in - of a couple of miles on undulating terrain. However the downer was the instance of numerous teenagers blasting loud music in the car-park and getting intoxicated by blowing on gas balloons and dropping used gas bullets (?) which is a glaring example of bad parenting and drawback of schools being shut!!! Needs CCTV/police!

Surprisingly busy on a bright Sunday morning. Paths & tracks fairly difficult to negotiate due to the number of walkers and cyclists having to give way to each other. Two-metre distancing under Covid19 regulations was near impossible to maintain. Good views here and there. Sadly, walk was spoilt by the continuous roar of motorway traffic in close proximity.

So much to see and do here, if it’s nature, walking, picnics, family day out m, running or exploring! This is the place to be! One tiny criticism would be that there lots of nettles everywhere close to the river, where the children like to swim or splash :( would be nice to have these cleared but nevertheless nice place to be on a sunny day :)

A lovely, lovely place to have a stroll and absorb the surroundings. Beautiful gardens, buildings, streams, cafes and garden center too. Easily accessible for all with flat, paved walkways. Have been twice now and will no doubt return.

Lovely park to walk and relax. Get a space on the rose garden for a picnic or to read your book. Nice national trust coffee shop on site as well and well as a wetland area. Safe and always busy during the summer.

I wish I had more photos to share, but it will be more of a surprise when you see how cute this Park is. Beautiful park with history. People and dog friendly. Also you can follow a path that takes you to Abbey Mills which is a cool place to visit.

A beautiful spot to pause. On the Boardwalk. Dogs on a lead and cyclists dismount.

Lovely, peaceful and vibrant park. Perfect for a day out with the kids. The scenarium is beautiful and you can play in the little river that runs across the park, although the water is really cold and my toddler didn't feel as trying it.

Very nice park to stretch your legs and get fresh air! You will find a lot of local families with children playing around or simply exploring the nature, you will also find people walking their pets (dogs), many of them!! The wetlands is another place where you can be in close touch with nature. There are some water streams, a large pond and little waterfalls. The "rose garden" is another beautiful place to explore specially with your nose! Those roses smell SO GOOD!

Nice big park with lots of different hidden peaceful spots to sit and recharge your energy, it’s also a great area to just walk But the signs were miss leading and after nearly 1 hour of trying to find the animal farm I asked someone and thé told me it was about another 20 minutes walk after you cross the subway bridge, so maybe next time😶

Great experience. Visited for the first time and I found everything wonderful. Very clean and well maintained. You have coffee shops, you can buy everything from plants and garden stuff to aquariums and fishes. Loaded with history and decked marshes

Beautiful place to go with family, friends or a partner. Bookshop was really cute with lovely staff and cheap second hand books that contribute towards the upkeep of the park. Garden Centre was a lovely walk around although quite expensive to buy anything. The little aquarium was nice to walk round, some stunning fish to see, although could do with the fish having more space. Lots of tanks very over full and not giving the fish a good quality of life. Could do with some better sign posting. We walked round the edge of the park to find the garden centre because it was awkwardly sign posted, and the bookshop and cafe looked like they were in a different place than what was on the map. A little confusing to navigate. We had a picnic in the rose garden and so didn't go to the cafe. Free entry into the grounds and lots of sweet places to sit and relax, have food or a picnic, walk your dogs, etc. Lots of beautiful views.

Its in a semi good location, would of thought there be alot more to see. But its that time of year. Maybe on second visit during a better season it be more flourished and more wildlife. Lots of areas for walking, sitting and catching a few good views. But very busy place would advise to go early

Morden Park Rose Garden was blooming. We enjoyed our day wandering by the river, boardwalk, lawns, and woodlands. We ate a tasty lunch in the cafe
