Everything was Better than expected given the staff shortages/strains the NHS has been facing recently. Pre-birth the experience was amazing, staff super attentive and lovely (honestly left us in awe of them). Post birth - being sent to the Edith Dare ward… (may aswell call it hell ward) - it was an absolute disaster. Staff show little to no attention to detail, lack communication Between one another & lack duty of care (midwives they say…). I shouldn’t have to be the one seeking constant information on where we stand on our personal situation. I shouldn’t have to ask what’s going on, what’s next, when to be expected to be discharged. Honestly it’s absolutely ridiculous. Just to paint the picture, post birth they put you in one room, with 4 other women/partners who also are there with their babies… you can hear the calls, the crying, loud talking, snoring, loads of family members visiting when really, the women who have given birth should be able to rest as well as the baby… instead it’s a roller coaster of noise which induces utter exhaustion. How can you expect to recover in that environment and be in optimal condition to leave the hospital… There were cases where I would also have to ask for the midwives to ask what’s next for them to tell me about single required checks that are required when they had already been actioned - which would be news to them (hence bad communication between them). Even things like mistaking baby conditions, and adding the wrong details to your baby file ( I’m talking absolute basic requirements of the role) it’s a joke. To be told one thing and wait to then be told something completely different after, no communication after any checks, they walk away and treat the women like cattle. We are not statistics, we are living people. It hurts me to say all this as this was meant to be one of the best days of our lives but we are close to leaving on a traumatic stressful level - I can’t wait to get the Mrs home so her and the baby can finally manage to rest up (which they should have done here) instead of being held almost hostage and not understanding why the whole time & constantly having to seek reasoning. Please be careful future mothers out there, be wary.

5 stars for Carlota the midwife that helped me deliver my baby, cannot thank her enough. Two stars for how my night went in the postnatal ward - I do not want to scare pregnant lady, but I do want to share my experience so that this never happens again to other women. Never have I felt so alone and neglected in my life, just hours after giving birth. It’s already horrible having to stay in hospital overnight without your partner beside you on what’s meant to be the best day of your life. I really needed to wee and I got up to grab a urine bowl. Only minutes later I realised this had a hole and so my pee went everywhere on the floor. I urgently needed assistance to clean this and pressed the midwife button on the control beside my bed three times with no answer. It was in the night and I didn’t want to wake up the two ladies also in the postnatal ward and so waited around until a midwife came round and I managed to get her attention. She said she would grab a mop but never came back. This meant that I, a woman who had just given birth, had stitches, with a catheter inside of me had to get onto the floor and start cleaning. NO WOMAN after giving birth should have to go through something like this. We cannot sit down and preach about how women should feel empowered and supported at the time of birth and then give two f**ks about these same women! Those midwives covering the night shifts do f**k all. This is embarrassing for me but I hope this spreads awareness to the NHS so that this never happens again!

Horrific experience visiting Antenatal today. My wife is 18 weeks pregnant and feeling ill. We arrived late for our appointment and the midwife refused to see us. I explained that traffic was very bad which explained the lateness but the midwife was telling us that she needs to go home early so she can't see us. She looked very tired to be honest and that might be the reason she wanted to go home! After 1.5 hours spent in traffic she couldn't be bothered to even listen to us. After seeing this treatment and how poorly my wife had been feeling we moved all her appointments to St. Mary's Hospital and we don't regret it. It's shameful that such staff who can't be bothered to perform their job are still working for the NHS. We always arrive early for our appointments and are made to wait for 30-40 minutes before seeing the midwives but we arrive a few minutes late and you're not given a chance. A joke really.

This is my first time Experiencing a ultra sound scan, Meaning my first visit I was nervous and excited to see my baby. When my wife's name was called up and we were then directed to room number six. I stepped in the room and greeted the Nurse saying "hello how are you?". She then turned around without greeting me back and with a very rude manner commanding me to wear a mask. To which I did by taking out my medical mask I obtained from a private hospital. She then said "no I have to give you a specific mask". To which I complied with and wore the mask she gave me. She then told my pregnant wife who's exempt From wearing a mask to put her mask on. My wife replied saying that she is exempt. The woman then replied with audacity to ask her "on what grounds? Show me proof!" My wife then told her it's on the NHS system and she has serious Asthma issues. The woman said no and she forced her lie down and placed a tissue on top of her nose whilst also wearing a mask on top of her tissue. This is absolutely ridiculous to the extent my wife started to breath heavily and started to cry because she was unable to breath properly. The story adds on when I asked the woman a medical question about the baby to which she refused to answer. I was unable to see the baby on the screen Is located very high because my glasses would mist up. So I have to take my mask 1-Click forward so I can speak and see without the glasses misting up. She interrupted my medical advice and refused to answer the question and told me to STEP outside. I refused to step outside as I was still wearing a mask. I will name the nurse and make sure everyone knows show she is so they refrain from being treated badly by her IF the nhs do not deal with my complaint as they should. She needs serious mental health checks as I assume she’s jealous from the couples that walk in. But for now - do NOT attend room 6 in the ultrasound scan department as you’ll be dealt by the devil working in the nhs.

Its so hard to understand how this hospital has outstanding rating. There is not a single moment we found that it is anwhere close to good. The midwife, we had, was threatening us to send us to another hospital which has bad rating. We were scared of her because every single time she was rude and harsh on us. Scared us. The maternity day assessment unit, they don’t even understand the meaning of emergency assessment. And asked us to wait 3 before a midwife can talk and do the checkup. We had a horrible experience so far. Ill keep updating my review with experience.

Professional and amazing staff, midwives and doctors who helped us deliver our baby. Reason for the 1 star could be extreme, but I want the attention of administration of NHS to resolve this problem. Right after labour we were moved to Edith Dare ward where there were four parents in a one room separated by curtains. This creates a very distressing environment for all parents as babies cry, some people are loud and some snore heavily while you are trying to put your baby to sleep. I want this to be a constructive feedback, with a wonderful and supportive staff if this infrastructure problem is resolved this would be a thousand times better experience for parents who have been through a lot just before admitting into this ward.

OUTSTANDING RATING (regarding quality and care for patients) and deservedly so. I had an appointment here yesterday. My first visit to this hospital, gynaecological dept. Every person, from the receptionist to the doctor I saw were wonderful. Everywhere was calm and all the professionals I came across smiled at me, making me feel extremely comfortable. I was seen right on time at 11am. I have never been seen on time at any hospital in London. The lady doctor I saw was absolutely brilliant. Kind and caring with a warm personality. She was also incredibly professional carrying out an excellent examination, explaining everything along the way and answered all my questions. THANK YOU SO MUCH for making a 'challenging' appointment so easy. You are a wonderful hospital 😊❤️⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Since day one till my baby was born I received an amazing service. I will never forget Rianne Catherine my midwife that delivered my baby Recommend this hospital with all my heart to all the women!

Had an awful experience in the ultrasound department. Do not choose this hospital for your ultrasounds if you're trying to get a decent 20 week scan picture. Didn't even make an effort & I made her aware it's my pregnancy announcement photo. She printed the 3 same measurement photos (cant even tell where the head is at 20 weeks) and said 'if you don't like them you don't have to buy them' she didn't even offer me my photos at first, I was instructed by the receptionists to knock back on her door to ask for my photos. When I explained how upset I was with the photos & every other parent in the room agreed the photos were unacceptable I still didn't get an attempt at decent photos. Now I have to go private and wait till 26 weeks at my 4d scan to announce my pregnancy properly with scan photos. Unbelievable that they have the audacity to offer you a 4d scan for over £100 with them when they treat you like that. Please avoid. Ruined my whole pregnancy plans.

I went into triage with abdominal pain at 26 weeks pregnant. I was not seen or checked properly compared to the other females around me (full term expectant mothers). I was not monitored long enough, baby's heartbeat was only checked for 60 SECONDS! I stressed I did not feel right, & something was wrong. The nurse did a spectrum which I believe she caused for early labour. I was told everything was fine & sent home discharged. Couple of hours later I was rushed in hospital in an ambulance, I nearly lost my baby & could of lost my life. They doctors told me my placenta had abrupted. This resulted in an emergency c section. I was then discharged & re admitted for a week in hospital due to infection from the c section. I will never forget the pain, stress, & anxiety caused. Please stay away from this hospital. Nurse was not trained enough & NHS PALS did not handle my complaint the way it should of been. Absolutely disgusting!

Not recommended - delivered my baby in a corridor due to their negligence and lack of hospital beds The lack of foresight and poor resource management at labour ward triage reception which resulted on me having to bear the pain of the second stage labor at the triage reception (on a chair without any pain killer and with my birthing partners waiting in a corridor as they could not come with me there) I broke my waters at the triage reception, that is when they put me on a wheelchair and move me to a bed. The midwife was screaming at me as I could not stop the contractions that were forcing me to give birth. I ended up delivering my baby with the clothes I had on, with my boots and on a corridor. Worst of all, they did not even apologize, the staff was extremely rude and was screaming at me during this whole process and I found that whole situation deeply regrettable. I raised a formal complaint and I am still waiting to hear from them.

I had an excellent experience in this hospital, from the beginning of my pregnancy until the birth of my child in January in the labour ward. The midwives are so sweet and helpful and the doctors were fantastic and caring. I have never trusted a NHS service like this one before . Very thankful and appreciative towards the outstanding service we received.

I had horrible experience at Queen Charlotte hospital Lewis Ward. The night staff was rude and apathetic. They showed no care or empathy to me while I was screaming in pain during my labour and despite asking multiple times, they REFUSED to provide me any pain medication. One of the staff members was Venus and others I do not remember. I was by myself, I kept ringing the bell and asking to assist with pain assistance but they did not budge. Venus would stand there to observe me and then just move out without any compassion or assistance. At the end I was fully dilated and they had to rush me to the labour ward for delivery. My water broke in the corridor in front of waiting patients!! As soon I reached the labour ward my daughter was born within couple of minutes. I had severe pelvic pain and diabetes in pregnancy which was not taken into consideration during my care. My pelvic pain got worse after delivery and it tooks me months to recover. I was so upset and it has taken me months to recover from the trauma of being treated horribly at Lewis Ward. I will not recommend this hospital to anyone!! Absolutely pathetic.

I really don't know how to express this without cursing. My wife had an midwife appointment at her 40 week and turned out to have dangerous high blood pressure. It was around 4:00pm we were told to wait for the doctor to admit us to birth centre. We waited until 2:00am with the explanation of nurse saying wait 10 minites. Finally, we were brought to a room without any explanation or whatsoever of what's coming next. I asked one the nurse to check my wife's blood pressure since she hasn't been checked for 10 hours, nurse came into the room with attitude of worst. She checked the pressure and left without saying anything, that i ran after her to ask if my wife is okay. The nurse clearly did not assume of us for human being! I can't even complain about this situation for i fear for my wife and infant's wellbeing! If anyone from administration is seeing this, please note that none of these ladies have any empathy for patient or for human being! I will file an official complaint against the these night shift staff!

I gave birth 2 weeks ago in the labor world, a horrible experience !! They left me alone in a room , in labour with no support. The midwife was rude and without humanity, she did not believe that my baby was ready to be born and left me alone in the room, after my screams of pain and the baby almost outside, they took me urgently to the labor world where my baby was born 5 minutes later !!! I was treated like an animal !!! I do not recommend this hospital for all pregnant women !!

Parking Mafia in operation. All the meters close to hospital are cash and Card only, no option to pay with mobile phone apps like Ringgo. They want you to keep running around and keep topping up your parking ticket with big amount so they make extra money. Rather you control and extend parking session from phone. All the Ringgo parking signs are delebrately not kept up to date. Parking space for Ringgo are kept towards the very end of the parking to discourage you from using it. It's a shame they treat the patients like this.

I attended for a 2nd ECV appointment in the MDAU and I got turned away due to staff shortages. I explained I could not attend for an earlier appointment due to work commitments and a further conflicting appointment nor could I (at the time) attend on a different day due to Court Summons. I am yet to give birth at the hospital so I don't know how that will go down but the hospital staff member, ******a ended up leaving me in tears. Both mine and my husband's time wasted and little to no sympathy that each patient has a unique set of circumstances that influence their ability to attend appointments that are convenient for the hospital's staff shortages. My stomach was already hurting from the day prior attempt at ECV, I and my husband had already jumped hoops of difficulty just to be able to make the appointment - only to be turned away an hour later. The staff member even went as far as saying that the chances of ECV success were not all that much governed by the difficulties thrown up by the previous attempt. Thank you for the experience and reminder that there is not an ounce of humanity left in the NHS.

I wouldn’t normally review a hospital, but after having read some reviews before having my planned c section at QCH, felt like it was good to share my positive experience. I had a planned c-section, and despite having to wait a wee while due to other emergencies had an incredible experience. The staff were m friendly, knowledgable and supportive - really put my mind at ease before, during band after the operation which actually went by super quickly. My husband got to stay with me the whole time and on ward afterwards to support me and baby. Staff help with breastfeeding/bottle feeding depending on what you choose, and any other questions which is helpful as a first time mum. I stayed in ward for only 25 hours afterwards (1 night), and was able to go home after baby had a couple of check overs in the morning and you as mum can walk around a bit. I’d definitely recommend you bring snacks for you and your birth partner as the food is not amazing and they don’t cater for partners understandably ☺️

My wife and I have just had the most brilliant experience at Queen Charlotte's. During the pregnancy we were assisted by an amazing midwife, Aisha, from John Perryn's Centre. Honestly I cannot think of anything more that Aisha could have done to assist my wife, top service. The doctors and medical staff at the antenatal clinic, the maternity day assessment and the scan department were all outstanding, too. The delivery was supervised by Dr Primrose, who executed it perfectly, together with all the operating theatre staff, who were very professional and caring towards us at that crucial moment. We also advise, for those who can, to take a room in the Sir Stanley Clayton ward. Great service, very thorough, by all the nurses and midwives, and the privacy our own room helped us go through the first two nights.

I can’t say enough about the staff here, I was originally booked for the birth center, but my labor started with my water breaking, going to the labor ward for induction after 24 hours, then baby’s heart beat dropping so I had an epidural then finally emergency c-section, even with the whole birth experience I felt very supported from the team, they brought me a midwife from the birth center which was great, thank you Laura and Aisha my great midwifes, thanks Dr Ryan and Dr Liam for the great work, sympathy and support and all the nurses and staff. All I can say is that I will always remember my birth as empowering, yes not as planned but I still had a very positive experience and everyone really did their best!

I had my 12 week ultrasound today and I must say I am not impressed . Unfriendly reception staff to begin with , the lady who did our ultrasound seemed like she had somewhere else to be and our scan felt totally rushed . I made it clear that I couldn’t see the baby properly when she was quickly going through and then printed off blurry pictures . For what was supposed to be a very magical moment we felt totally let down. You may be in a rush for a break but this was a very personal experience for us . We also had to go and get bloods done where we were met by somebody who didn’t understand English , were confused when I said I was British and again were discussing to have their “tea break” when “your quickly done with her” very disappointing Queen Charlottes I expected more .

Spent over 3 days in triage despite having an appointment to be induced and despite being concerned about baby's movements being reduced. They started the induction process and "paused" it several times during the 3 days because they didn't have beds in the labour ward! Then we finally make it to the labour ward and again they stop because the midwife had to leave for another room to assist. My baby's position changed thanks to all of the delay and the induction process being paused and I almost ended up having a c-section. All you get is "the NHS is stretched" and harsh treatment from most of the midwives. Utterly traumatising and disappointing experience.

Our experience has been absolutely beautiful, from the operation theatre to discharge. They have been very professional, everyone knew exactly what they were responsible for and the calm during the C Section made everything pass like a breeze. Just remember that it is a genuinely busy Hospital so please keep expectations at the recovery and the night that you will spend at matching levels. Have your baby luggage well stocked with clothes towels disposable milk bottles hats nappies etc. And the birth partner should have plenty of coffee and tea breaks which is provided as self service. Thank you very much to the entire team.

went today in triage and left without being seen. An extremely unprofessional behavior from doctor name stefan. We were three pregnant women he came at 21:05 and at 23:20 i was still there 3 people only!!!! he was still inside doing nothing when I enter the triage to complain because i was in pain and waiting way too long he then suddenly appeared and take the next patient, then he disappeared went for an emergency. I was an emergency too! If I wasn’t i would have been home and not in triage at 23:00 in the night! He was very rude and i strongly believe because i complained he left on purpose didn’t have emergency.

My experience was very good in this hospital, always from the beginning until the birth of my child well treated. I had a Cesarean and I can say that this aspect was much better than my first one in my country. My son was born and after a few minutes he had respiratory problems, but the doctors and nurses were always attentive and took good care of him. Food is good, stay clean and rooms clean. the professionals who accompanied me day and night were respectful and friendly people.

So my sister had a scan! It is her first baby and she had the worst experience with a lady that was doing the scan, she was extremely rude and almost knocked her of the bed! For some reason her excuse was she was putting down her skirt. Very unprofessionally wouldn’t answer any question she had and she came out upset and crying! I get some of NHS staff are overwhelmed with work but she didn’t need to tell her go private if you need your questions answered

Shut it down if you don't have enough workers. I've been waiting with my wife more than 4 hours to take a prescription for some medicine. Poor management, lvl 3 triage the reception lady very arrogant and bored (i think she have dihareea), poor and slow connections between GP and hospital. For real, why don't you shut down the hospital if you cannot manage well. If i could i would give 0 stars.

I would give them zero...if there was that option. Avoid this place at all costs...you are never seen on time..ever!!! Every appointment, expect to wait at least 1 hour to be seen..if not more!! No sense of respect for people's time and if you're waiting to see a specialist...she has no clue why you are here....no communication! She might even not look at your issues...if she doesn't have time after you've waited more than an hour to be seen!

I had my baby at queen's charllote on the 03.02.2023 and I can't fault the hospital on anything. All staff were brilliant from the moment that we walked in until when we were discharged. Antenatal clinic could work a little bit better as there's constant delays for midwife appointments but other than that, I can't complain about anything. We had amazing care... Baby was suspected to be really tiny so the hospital booked extra scans and was on top of everything. We always felt really reassured. In the end the doctors from the fetal care department decided that it would be best for baby to be delivered between 38-39 weeks as baby was on the 7 centile (suspected sga) and wasn't putting enough weight, according to the grow scans. The doctors gave me the option of booking an induction or c-section so I ended up booking an elective c-section. Before my c-section I got a call from the surgeon that was going to perform the surgery, he was really reassuring and took away any doubts I had. On the c-section morning when we got to the hospital, everything was ready for us. All staff looked really calm and everything looked really clean. During the c-section I was told and explained everything while it was happening. On the Edith dare ward the staff was also amazing and we were even given a private room which made our stay a lot more comfortable. The only thing in my opinion the hospital should do is to provide mini fridges to parents so people can store their formula and any food they have. West middlesex hospital provides this and it makes life a lot easier but other than that we got no complains. For anyone worried about choosing this hospital, don't be!

Was refused c section description having crippling conditions and using crutches was later pushed into induced labour which resulted in permanent damage to right side of body due to midwife negligence. Left hospital and had midwives beating my door down threatening social services all because I made a complaint against them. Horrible stay away from them.

If I had the option of no giving a star I would. I have read comments people have written and can confirm they are true. This is the worst hospital to give birth in. The service is terrible the night staff on Lewis ward are rude, horrible and have hoggish mannerisms basic nurture, customer service was a zero! apart from one nurse called Joyce who was fantastic informative and very caring day staff. Staff left my daughter on her own for long periods of time. No food was offered. Suggested to walk around from the ante natal ward to the labour ward mid contraction after 3 days of labour because she couldn’t be bothered to get a chair. My daughter’s partner insisted she was not going to walk and she had to provide a wheelchair in the end. There were no clear direction on what was happening or going to happen next.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of interacting with a receptionist at Queens Charlotte Hospital who exhibited highly unprofessional behavior. From the moment I made the phone call, it was clear that the receptionist had no interest in assisting me. During the call, the receptionist’s tone was dismissive and apathetic, as if I were a bother or an interruption. It felt as if I was disturbing her from her personal time, rather than seeking help and support from a healthcare professional. Her responses were curt and lacked any semblance of empathy or understanding. Furthermore, despite my polite request for her name, she outright refused to provide it. This lack of transparency and accountability only added to the already disheartening experience. It is essential for hospital staff to be identifiable and accountable for their actions, especially when handling sensitive matters over the phone. The call ended abruptly and rudely, with the receptionist cutting me off and stating that she needed to move on to the next call, without offering any assistance or guidance. I firmly believe that patients and visitors deserve to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion, particularly when contacting a healthcare institution. Unfortunately, my encounter with this receptionist at Queens Charlotte Hospital was the complete opposite. I hope that the hospital administration takes this complaint seriously and conducts a thorough review of the recorded calls from the specified time frame. It is essential for appropriate action to be taken to rectify the behavior of this receptionist and prevent such unprofessional conduct from recurring in the future. Based on this distressing experience, I cannot recommend interacting with this particular receptionist at Queens Charlotte Hospital. Patients and visitors deserve a warm, supportive environment, which unfortunately was not provided during my interaction with this staff member.

I don't know how this hospital got an outstanding rating from CQC, with so many negative reviews. In my opinion, this hospital is terrible. From the receptionists to the board members. Medical malpractice..it should be shut down. No one cares about patients, except for their great nurses and HCAs.

We had been really happy with the experience we’d had at the maternity unit here. The normal day to day maternity unit is great. Generally runs on time and the midwives are excellent. The emergency day assessment unit however is absolutely shocking. We have had use to this a few times and the care is always extremely poor. The lack of communication from staff to staff and staff to patient is appalling. I write this as my wife has been waiting 8 hours to be induced. This is after a junior doctor sent her home and the senior consultant rang her and said she needed to come back immediately for an induction. We are still waiting for this to happen. The night shift midwife didn’t even know we were here. A warning to mothers and fathers out there. Be prepared and question the staff all the time.

Was ok. I had my second baby girl here . My first birth was much better experience. Appointments take forever !!! Antenatal team is really nice. I had no issues during pregnancy and no health issues so appointments went pretty smoothly. Now … triage was the issue ! I find the staff there were rude . I understand they were busy but it doesint help when your 41 weeks pregnant , hot as no air con . And sat waiting for hours and no answer from anyone . The best ever staff are in the Labour ward! I My midwife was P Chilaka! She was amazing and I could not have done it without her !!! She was amazing . My epidural didn’t work and she was just amazing !! I give her 100 stars!!! The after care was good. I paid for private room so I could have privacy and it was great . Definitely worth it . The care was ok there . Night team was ok… i didn’t get a lot of support there . I ended us going home the next day .

Was here today for our 12 week scan. Staff at reception were lovley, and the sonographers were absolutely wonderful. Our baby was in a very awkward position and just wouldn't move. They asked us to come back in 30 mins and finally we got the messurents and a picture 🙂. Thank you so much for your patience

Used to be an amazing hospital delivered 2 healthy baby girls there and also was supported through out. However my recent experience took 2 months for a single doctors appointment was neglected complained about a few issues such as blurry visions black out and no baby movements was ignored and my baby died. Was given a tablet sent home even though I was a high risk pregnancy ended up giving birth at home in my living room with my husband and 2 young girls who had to witness everything this was back in March. All of us are still in shock my kids are traumatised. I would say please stand up for yourself if you feel something is wrong you know your body best don’t let no one tell you otherwise. Demand to be seen demand extra scans if you feel you need them. Don’t be quiet like I was and stand up for your rights so you aren’t in the same position as myself. I had to learn the hard way. Few months later I’m still being ignored haven’t heard a single thing back from the hospital and still waiting for an appointment bereavement midwife is ignoring me too.

Was told birthing suite was closed and yet when in triage on a Sunday night overheard the midwife asking them to stop sending her patients as she was the only 1 on duty. Was also left in triage waiting for an examination for 5 hours whilst my husband and mother sat in a very hot corridor with no air con and no access to water. When I told the Midwife I wasn’t feeling well she said I’m busy eventually I messaged my mum saying I want to push and it was only then the midwife moved very fast and informed me I’m fully dilated.Went to the labour ward where I gave birth to a very healthy boy after being 5 hours on my own and no pain relief. This was my first pregnancy and if I get pregnant again I don’t think Queen Charlottes would be my choice.I would have been treated better giving birth next door in the prison.

The level of care we received before, during and after the birth of my son was just amazing! I can't speak highly enough of the staff that helped us, in some cases it's hard to put into words. I can't speak for all midwives, but the midwives in the Birth Centre are Angels. They were so caring, and lovely, and they made us feel so welcome, and some of them went above and beyond to care for us. One of the midwives even bought us a gift and visited in her own time as my wife and I were having a difficult week, but this made all the difference. We plan to move out of London soon, but if possible, we would 100% come back here if we have a second child. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

Our daughter was born on 13-06-2022. We were admitted into the labour ward on 11-06-2022. On the first night, the Maternity team was a bit short of staff but did an incredible job, it was crazy to see how busy it was yet how professional and pro active every single one of the midwives were. We were lucky to have 3 midwives over the course of the 3 days we were there. Elaine (from st Mary’s), Aisha and Rianne. They were all amazing, words cannot describe how incredible they were and made our slightly worrying stay so peaceful and calm. Rianne Catherine was our last midwife who delivered our baby. I never thought I would be so calm and confident that my wife would successfully deliver our baby, and this was due to Rianne management of the situation, calming words and just sheer organisation and confident, which made us feel so good and in good hands. They all deserve every bit of happiness and well being in life because they truly care and are not just working because they need a job, on the contrary, they actually love doing what they do. Any complaints should be directed at the health minister and not any of the staff in the Maternity sector. They all worked super hard and super well under extremely difficult conditions and deserve much more from our government.

I had my baby there via c section I can’t thank the hospital more for the excellent service they provided . I had a lot of medical issues for my self and the hospital accommodated me perfectly . The midwives are so sweet and helpful . The doctors are so caring . I have never trusted a NHS service like this one before . I don’t know how to thank the hospital for everything .

I am so so happy with my ultrasound given to me by Aliyah Mbarak. She was amazing considering I’m 36 weeks pregnant and came into the room quiet emotional (hormones were through the roof) but she made me feel so happy, so relaxed and even made me laugh quiet a bit. I felt way less anxious honestly she’s a super star! Her professionalism and kindness made me soooo glad I picked this hospital to give birth into (due moving homes). Thank you again QCCH for your amazing staff such as Aliyah and also the friendly receptionist in the ultrasound department (didn’t get her name). 11/10 ratings. :)

Amazing care throughout my pregnancy from this hospital. Outstanding care from Madi on the Labour ward who delivered our baby she is a huge credit to the profession. Also amazing care from Midwife Mariah. I can not thank you all enough at Queen Charlottes EPAU, Maternity day assessment, Ultrasound, Antenatal clinic, Lewis suite, Labour ward and Edith Dare ward.

I have called up Maternity Unit very concerned about the cramps & pelvic tightness that I'm feeling and Kate has answered the call. She was so helpful, informative, kind and compassionate it put me at ease right away. She has provided a lot of additional information, gave me lots of advice and kindly offered to call them again any time if I have questions or any more concerns. I really appreciate my Antenatal care team in the hospital when I go for my midwife appointments, however, this phone call was so very needed and I am very grateful she has picked up my phone call.

I would like to give a special thanks to Birth Centre team consisting of HCA Mariam, Midwives Laura, Valentina and Izzy and Labour wards Anaesthetists and obstetrician Dr Primrose for such a wonderful care and service that they provided during our baby’s birth a QCH. They were so kind so pleasant, so encouraging, so supportive and so lovely, I knew my wife was in good care when we she was in labour. It was just an eventful few days we had but the team were just so special and gave us the highest standard of care. Honestly QCH is the best for mummy’s to be. We will definitely be going there again if we was to have another baby. From Muna and Isaq

I was sent to the Queen Charlotte hospital from my local maternity unit due to multiple problems with the pregnancy at 27 weeks. I had amazing care during my 5 weeks stay on the Lewis suite. Thankfully all was baby was finally well enough to be transferred back to my local hospital to be delivered via C Section the next day.

Waiting time in antenatal and maternity wards are just stupid. It takes almost two hours waiting time Before you get seen! It’s a joke and no urgency from Docs or midwife. Instead they sit their on their phones showing each other weekend antic pictures. It’s a joke

I was Diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer had hysterectomy with debulking surgery to remove tumours. on 13th July 21 I Was in hospital for 10 days. Everyone from nursing staff to medical staff took time to talk to you especially when I was feeling low. Housekeeping staff always made sure I had water with ice as it was during a heat wave and ward was very warm. Was seen by the same registrar on the ward and being followed up to being discharged back to my local hospital in August 21

Went for my gestational diabetes test today and have to say the organisation is very poor at this hospital. I had an appointment to come in for 9:30 which I did to only the realise it’s not by appointment but a first come first served basis - so what’s the need for the appointment in the first place? It’s already frustrating having to be fasting whilst being pregnant but when you give someone an appointment time that doesn’t even follow through it’s worse. I came in for 9:30 and only took my glucose drink at 11. A whole hour and a half later. Baffles me how they’re top ranking for maternity hospitals in London. When they’re actions like this suggests they have no sympathy for pregnant women

Hospital was good. But finance department is really terrible. We paid for the delivery and we havent recieved a single invoice or even a reciept. The person we dealt with is not even answering our calls. But when it was time to pay they called every so often .

I gave a birth to our baby girl on Monday at labour ward and I can’t thank enough for all the care I had during the labour and after. I received fabulous care at postnatal ward after the labour. It was really hard but the midwives and the staff were very helpful and kind all the time. They helped me to feed the baby as she was born premature and checked on us several times a day.

Had both of my daughters there. Fantastic staff - attentive, professional, knowledgeable. One of the top maternity hospitals. 10 out 10 in my view.

The parking situation is a joke. There are a few parking spaces and even some of those have been blocked off by constant construction work. When you are fortunate enough to find parking they dont have ringo which means you're running back and forth topping up your ticket and constantly worried about getting a ticket because appointments are always running late.

  • 5/5 Simon M. 2 years ago on Google
Attentive and friendly staff. Always seems to be someone to point you in the right direction. Be cautious of the car parking situation. The car park is run by the Cowboys at CPP and its a "private car park". The machines never work, they never answer the phone and the prices are a joke.

Great team, midwives are fantastic. Just had baby number 2 at QCCH and honestly the midwives, the doctors, the anesthetists, HCAs and everyone in between were all brilliant. The midwives by far deserve awards for how they support and encourage you during labour and the doctors really listened to me in supporting my choice of delivery and helped me achieve what I wanted. Dr Ryan, Ruby and Laura- you guys were amazing thank you so much x
