I am a member of this gym as it is close to work. I have decided to terminate my subscription as the hygiene is unacceptable and the gym too smelly and dirty. Nothing has changed in months despite the several complains to receptions. - The steam room is a tiny hole and has got a constant carpet of fluff of pubic hair on the floor. See the images attached. They are taking on different days. Nothing has changed in months we have been there. - The soap containers often are filled, by sick customers, with body-fluids (you can imagine which ones). - One of the girls at receptions, when we pointed out the steam room in the male area was filthy, replied "I can't get in there right now, but we know that. I have been told it also smells of sweat and dump, right?". they know it and they do nothing. - Air conditioning is always extremely low and both when you work out or shower you have a cold, constant draft hitting you. There is no way to change it and it's very unpleasant and unhealthy, especially when you are sweating. - The rooms for Yoga and Body Pump are poorly heated and we were asked to wear jumpers and jackets to warm up. The Yoga class becomes a survival exercise when at the end you stop and relax and start shivering instead of enjoying the relaxation. - The rooms for Classes are used during the day by kids to play and by elderly people and therefore you have your Yoga session on a dirty floor and with toys, chairs and other items scattered and piled up around you. Definitely no atmosphere in there. You feel like you are at secondary school gym lesson. It's a third world environment and I am surprised hygiene inspectors are fine with this place. Have they actually ever been? The hygiene at this gym has become a matter of laughter with friends and coworker that had used the same gym. The images talks more than any word. I can't understand why they think it is acceptable to have such a unhealthy environment and why they keep ignoring members comments. It' would be so easy to keep such a small place tidy and clean.

I've been living there after leaving a hospital. Stinky small room for £220/week. Council was paying and agent was suggesting living in controlled enviroment for a while, so I took it. Spent two years looking for a flat. At the end, guru Emil Macau informed that tenase ceased, beautiful Camille Anderson forgot to mention that council hadn't been paying for a year and French portier has been lying every week, when I was paying, that there's no any debt. Got billed for £1500 and sent on street. Mafia. Stay away. Been months till I got up.

Great facilities....including Sauna. Personal trainers very knowledgeable, courteous and experienced. Would be great if membership was not inclusive of all classes as some of us just want to use the GYM. MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. Option will create more clientele. Way too expensive!! People for places gym £18.99 per month!!!

I have recently joined the gym as I was curious due to some adverts pop in quite often on my Facebook timeline and because is walking distance from where I live . First impression: not great, the receptionist was not very friendly at all, no greeting, no good night, no thank you . When I mentioned that I was interested to join the gym, she just say I should do online, in the end after I insisted, I made my subscription at the reception. In terms of classes, we should have more time slots, you supposed to book online, but is constantly full. Pros : great classes instructors (when you are lucky to get a place) Cons : Basic training in customer services for the front of house receptionist. I believe a robot could do a better job than her. If the person doesn't have customer service skills, shouldn't be working with the public.

Staying at the YMCA in surbiton, the guy next door is smoking crack every 30mins throughout the night and the smoke is going into my room. Spoke to 3 case workers here and they won't do anything! I'm paying over 1000 pounds a month on housing benefits to breathe crack smoke while I've got cancer and homeless. I hate YMCA place.

Amazing team, friendly people, clean facilities and not many people using the gym, even during peak times. Highly recommended.

Worst gym and centre I’ve ever been to. The staff are extremely rude and the trainers upstairs are awful. Most of the time their swanning around and don’t help anybody is someone asks. I got a temporary memebership to see what it was like and they always treat like they were doing me a favour every time I went in and out or even speak to them. And the locker rooms are horrendous. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. I’d recommend going to one of the gyms in Kingston.

I had a terrible experience trying to visit this club. I was new in town and just wanted to try/ checkout the gym to see if I would like it. The staff was not friendly or helpful at all for that matter. I asked to do a drop in and they would not let me see the gym, asked that I pay £6.50 to just look around. The manager wasn't there (conveniently) and he did not help me get set up either and he told me that they don't do drop ins (very unorganized they told me 2 separate answers), And how are you supposed to sign up if you can't try out the gym first? I am a personal trainer and I have worked at over 5 different gym clubs in the past and this would never happen at any of the clubs I have worked at. Very unimpressed with this club and I do not recommend joining YMCA. Unprofessional.

Surprisingly good food, outstanding customer service. Nice place to hide with toddler on a rainy day. There is small but OK equipped play area, friendly staff, good enough coffee. Also children ballet and gimnastic classes run by professionals from local dance and gymnastics studios in affordable prices.

Went in to enquire about membership and maybe some personal training. I'll just states firstly that i'm actually shock they have No Males trainers. I didn't really see anyone around much to even help if needed. Secondly not sure about anyone else but if I'm expected to pay that much at least let me have a shower. it just doesn't seem very good value for money at this point.

I have NEVER EVER been inside this establishment and an a senior citizen but in 2018 I received a telephone call out of the blue from a very elderly man who I used to do telephone counselling for and help through a church IE take out in my car etc .. although I live a LONG way away ..he used to turn up at my home.. anyway I had not heard from this person for some five years and was trying to avoid him as he was odd and I myself had a lot of bereavement to deal with I'd my own etc ..anyway this person asked me what to say because he was to be interviewed by his neighbours from the flat above and also the YMCA about his dealings with a young woman who he said that he quote fancied unquote and was staying there from overseas as refugee both the neighbours and the YMCA were to interview him teveho was attending his downstairs flat at night neighbours re the coming and going YMCA re the monies the girl had acquired..he was trying to well it's obvious isn't it mmanyway I was shocked and many miles away at the time I told him to seek legs advice and tell the truth..but he told his neighbours that it was me who attended his flat .mi had never ever been there if course and that I was residing in a car with my pet dogs and used his place as a place to sleep on the sofa to get warm of course this not at all true and because of knowing that this man is not a truth teller I rang the neighbours through him to tell them the truth ..they ignored me ..and u also rang the YMCA who told me that it was none of my business..ok it was because I have after being harrassed by authority for the year it happened been arrested in 2921 and kept in custody had my home raided and been through a two and a half years long court case which I am unfairly resulted from ...The YMCA should have listened as had the authority to the truth.GDPR was broken in my case and I am an innocent person.Shows how the system fails.

Good little gym. Cardio area is usually pretty empty but the weight machines and free weight area can get pretty busy. Ladies has a Sauna (don't know about the Mens).

This is sadly my local gym but most certainly the worst I've ever come across. The main issue I believe is that the staff are apathetic and rude. You'll never feel so disrespected or undervalued for your monthly membership fee at any other gym. The gym is dirty and cramped. It needs a thorough revamp.

The YMCA in Surbiton is a great place to go if you are looking for somewhere with good food and drinks for very reasonable prices, lots of space for babies / buggies and very friendly staff. There is a play area for toddlers and lots of high chairs available. Enjoying my time there, every time I go. Would highly recommend.
