We
are
a
couple
and
we
stayed
at
the
Doubletree
Hyde
Park
grow
a
couple
of
nights.
Upon
arrival,
during
the
check
in,
we
were
offered
complimentary
warm
cookies,
which
were
a
very
nice
welcome,
and
the
staff
was
very
friendly.
We
were
also
notified
that
the
hotel
is
fully
booked,
so
we
have
been
upgraded
to
a
room
with
a
king
size
bed.
The
hotel
seems
a
bit
old,
one
of
the
elevators
was
broken
some
of
the
time,
and
the
room
itself
was
pretty
basic.
We
were
glad
to
discover
a
couple
of
European
electric
sockets,
in
addition
to
the
standard
British
ones.
However,
we
were
disappointed
to
find
that
the
water
current
isn’t
very
strong,
the
shower
drained
pretty
slowly
during
the
shower,
which
can’t
be
closed
all
the
way,
so
we
had
to
be
careful
during
the
shower
and
keep
making
sure
we’re
not
getting
the
floor
all
wet,
which
was
damn
near
impossible,
none
of
the
room
windows
open,
not
even
slightly
(it’s
like
that
in
the
entire
hotel,
it
seems
like
the
building
used
to
house
offices
before
it
became
a
hotel,
so
this
makes
sense).
Furthermore,
the
blackout
curtains
weren’t
long
enough
to
completely
block
the
light
in
the
morning
and
a
foul
smell
kept
coming
out
of
the
shower/bathroom.
Since
we
couldn’t
stand
the
smell
and
the
hotel
maintenance
weren’t
able
to
solve
the
problem,
we
were
transferred
to
another
room,
but
it
had
twin
beds,
which
was
uncomfortable
for
our
needs.
However,
the
curtains
in
this
room
made
a
much
better
job
blocking
the
light
from
outside
in
the
morning.
To
sum
it
up,
this
hotel
is
much
more
suitable
for
short
business
trips,
and
less
for
couples
and
families
on
vacation.
