Recently (2021) awarded #32 best restaurant in the world. Food is great and very fish heavy. Interesting and unique. Service is fine. Some staff need to learn to project when describing the plate. We were sitting in the same room as the chefs, which is cool. Unfortunately, at the end of the night they clean the grill which sends up a thick smell throughout the place. They have a wine pairing, a non-alcoholic drink pairing, and a mixed pairing which switches between the two. £300-500/person

Fantastic tasting menu with a great variety of amazing and really well balanced dishes. Great cocktails too. Loved the dining room facing the kitchen, couldn’t believe how calm all the chefs were! The waiting staff were really knowledgeable and friendly too, appreciate them suggesting wines that we might like that weren’t even on the menu.

Well deserved Michelin stars especially with a great venue, attentive service, superb food and an overall memorable experience. I enjoyed a lot of the seafood dishes, and appreciate the balance between exquisite ingredients and classics.

Background I first tried it when it opened in 2013. This is my second time around after a decade. It is a restaurant with Michelin-star status Ambience: The restaurant is elegant and sophisticated, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The stylish decor, coupled with dim lighting, sets the stage for an intimate dining experience. I was told that the recently refurbished. Service: The service was nothing short of impeccable. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and professional, ensuring that every guest feels well taken care of. From the moment you step in, you are greeted with a warm welcome, and throughout the meal, the staff is prompt in their service, ensuring that your needs are met. Food: I feel that the non-vegetarian options are exceptional cos my dinner companion was pretty satisfied with the food, but the vegetarian degustation menu had its hits and misses. Some dishes stood out with their unique flavours and presentation, while others fell short of expectations. The vegetarian options could benefit from more consistency and refinement. Overall: It was a memorable dining experience with its elegant ambience, impeccable service, and innovative cuisine.

We didn’t see the menu before so every dish is a surprise to us. The first 3 are snacks! The fried chicken is good! The next 3 are main courses~ The fish is really good! Finally the strawberry pudding is pretty good! The taste is so soft!

Had the full tasting menu with the wine pairing - every bite was a flavour bomb. So well done. One of the best, if not the best tasting menu I’ve had in London. Was for a celebration and they did not disappoint. Service was attentive but not overly so. Relaxed ambience for a Michelin starred restaurant, not stuffy.

Wow, wow, wow — simply spoiled from start to finish! Interesting tea and wine pairing, give it a try if it’s still on the menu. Pro-tip: the restaurant isn’t within the town hall building itself but next door in a building of its own. Expect to spend at least £300+ on the tasting menu with the welcome champagne, beverage pairing, coffee/tea.

Plenty of unusual but pleasant new flavours: raw scallops and vegetable broth dishes from the full tasting menu were my favourites (fried chicken and taco were unnecessary to be honest — sorry chef!). And a really good selection of wines by the glass: from South African to Polish. Dining room is overlooking the kitchen and doesn't feel too formal. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Just a 10-minute walk from Shoreditch High Street.

Took a mate here for his 40th bday. Was one of the best meals I've ever had in my life. He got the wine pairing and I got the tea pairing (not something I have ever heard of before!). All really enjoyable and delicious. All the staff were excellent and the young sommelier was pretty hilarious. I gotta be honest tho this is the most I have ever spent on a meal in my life. It is deffo not cheap. The bill came to ~850 for 2. I really enjoyed it tho which is saying something. I plan to take my wife on a special occasion as well. Keep up the great work across the whole restaurant.

Had an enjoyable evening at the bar counter for single diner. It's great that the bartender is quite engaging; and I do appreciate that the servers spend a bit of time to slowly explain the dishes. The 2 wines recommended by the sommelier were wonderful; and the food portion is just right. Overall feeling of the place is positive.

A 2 michelin star dining experience well worth its position at the top of the world's 50 best list in the UK. 5 stars. We arrived and were seated to a central table in front of a window in the main dining room, with a handwritten card from the staff congratulating us on a special milestone. Staff were friendly and attentive, but relaxed throughout and made us feel at home. No dish from the fresh seafood leaning menu disappointed but the hot smoked Wiltshire trout with Oscietra caviar and Cornish sardine sashimi were my personal favourites. A lovely bottle of white burgundy (very reasonably priced for a 1er cru) recommended by the sommelier paired well with the course of the meal with champagne by the glass to start with the pre-menu snacks. I couldn't recommend The Clove Club more highly to anyone looking for a British fine dining experience second to none.

Went here for a birthday dinner. Staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was nice, with the "in room kitchen" having a nice feel. The food was good, as was the wine. My friends and I went for the short tasting menu, with matching wine. The only negative was the constant upselling and the lack of transparency on pricing: did we want to add fresh caviar to our starter, do you want the cheese course. It wouldn't have been bad if at the start they presented us with a menu and asked in one go, but it felt constant, and had we gone for any of them it apparently would've pushed the price up significantly (not the we would've know at the time as they never said a price once). Another small niggle was the waiter explaining the wine getting things wrong. Understand that the sommelier wasn't going to explain things but our waiter said that Oregon was in California...

Came for a lunch on Saturday. The ambiance is quite cozy. There is a bit of natural light from outside. Quite spacious though some tables are relatively close to each other. They only serves one tasting menu with a short version available. We ordered the regular one. After ordering, the amuse bouche was served, it was tasty. I actually like the fried chicken given as snack more than the chicken in the main course. The rest of the dishes were served gradually in timely manner, not too rush, not too slow, and each dishes were nicely presented and explained by the staff members. Portion is quite small but after finishing all the courses, you would be full. I like most of the dishes. My favourite is probably the raw Orkney scallop. The only dish that I am not a fan of is the crispy pork jowl. Overall I enjoyed the experience. No doubt it’s Michelin star as well as one of the world’s best 50 restaurants. They deserve the awards.

The food was really special and the flavours divine - there was one dish that was not enjoyable (think the asparagus - in an oddly flavoured foamy sauce). The price was eye watering, but I don’t regret it. The wine list was superb.

Excellent experience in the restaurant and the meal. Require advance booking (I booked a month ahead) to get a table. There is a comprehensive wine list, and we ordered the degustation menu. The starters and desserts after were delicious. Worth a return visit !

This has got to be the best fancy restaurant in the UK. The flavours are familiar yet presented in a very new way. The service is impeccable. And the main dining hall feels like dining at a very well run home. You can see the chefs prepare fresh high quality food in front of you. The wine list is extensive. The Clove Club is worth every penny and the wait to get a table. It's a special experience but also shows the way to how top end restaurants should be run.

The worst Michael star place I have even been at (had privilege visiting over 100 places). They broke every single protocol of service there... First we started our night with glass of Champaign (which was recommended) however they "forgot" to tell that there is 2 other glasses in tasting menu. Nobody wants 3 glasses of Champaign during your course. Speaking of drinks we saw sommelier pouring 2nd wine bottle into decanter which already had 30% of wine from other bottle - you never, ever mix bottles... Continuing the topic of drinks - pouring wine glass of 30ml and saying (literal qoute) - this is how much restaurant can afford is beyond insulting (either don't offer this wine or charge accordingly - it's not that £145 is cheap end either way). Regarding tasting menu it was very lazy approach from the chef - serving water (ice cream) three times (out of 9) is really interesting "interpretation" to say at least. Discussing general etiquette - don't bring me bill straight after petite four (without me asking) - what if I want another glass of wine? And never ever, ever come to the table when one of the parties are in the restroom and ask female if she is ready to settle the bill... How person supposed to feel if other party is paying?

One of the best meals we have ever eaten. This restaurant is so friendly and welcoming whilst delivering incredible dishes. It has such a relaxed environment which is really settling which when paired with the attentive and knowledgeable staff is a perfect combination. The food was exquisite making it so hard to choose a favorite. The scallop, truffle and mushroom dish was out of this world and was a plate I will never forget. So worth the trip.

Just a wonderful experience from start to finish. Each course was so well executed and thought out. The details were perfect. The service was above and beyond and the cocktails were fabulous. Really, really great time here! This was great for a vegetarian as the vegetarian tasting menu was perfect.

Just wow! What an amazing dinner experience we had, truly loved it:) The food was just delicious and the service was very nice and kind of on your level compared to other Michelins star restaurants. It’s not a snobbish environment that you’re used to see in these types of restaurants. We went for the big tasting menu and took a bottle of Chablis. *The only note I would like to point out and a small detail I didn’t really “like” was the upselling. So you get a menu and then few dishes have additional charge to add truffles or caviar. Honestly when you get a tasting menu this isn’t something that should be there. And plus it’s awkward when you’re on a date to say okay I want this and that but not the latter. This is the only thing I’m pointing out because other than that it’s flawless.

Truly specular meal. Went for lunch and had the short tasting menu bc I was pressed for time. Wonderful flavors and beautiful presentation. Didn't think I'd enjoy the habenero granita or warm potato mousse as much as I did. Really wish I was able to experience the full tasting menu. I guess that means I need to come back! The best meal of week-long trip in London.

The food tasted great and we had excellent service (despite a few small issues, like finding a bamboo skewer in the lobster when it became a splinter in my mouth). The staff was very apologetic and offered an apertivo, which was thoughtful. Giving only 4 stars because I could have done with at least 1 or 2 additional courses, and I've been to similar concepts that were less expensive. Still lovely time if you're looking to splurge.

Food is fantastic! I love decor of the place and that you can see how your food is prepared. This creates warm atmosphere. Service is just excellent and chef was very friendly! The original dim sum restaurant in London. We recently returned to this location on a summer trip in May 2021; there was a wait, but we were seated in about half an hour. They built these adorable outside pods, but if the sun is out, some of the pods can get extremely hot, so we chose to sit inside. There were no complaints about the food, and the service was excellent as well.

Saw clove club on the 50 best restaurant list, so really had high expectation. Overall it was good but falls a bit short of my expectation. While every thing is good, nothing is mind blowingly great that I must have again. I had the tasting menu and my favorites are probably the fish dish , the foie gras, and I thought the raw scallop was interesting. Not sure if it was only today but the food came out quite slow for me today. So it’s a 3.5-4 stars for me especially considering the price

I would give this place 10 stars if possible. Each dish placed in front of us was better than the last, the staff were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and also understanding when we were running late due to transport issues. The inspiration behind each meal is so imaginative and each bite of our meal was packaged with new and exciting flavours. The menu is incredibly accessible despite the two Michelin stars. Nothing felt too challenging to eat, even the meal item that had snails!

We very much enjoyed our dinner at The Clove Club. Our table enjoyed three vegetarian tasting menus and one regular tasting menu which was thoughtfully presented with a seafood allergy in mind. The dishes were all delightful, can't fault anything. We've been to other similar restaurants where the food presentation may have had slightly more "wow" factor but the flavor of everything we had was top notch. Some of our party had the mixed wine and tea pairing while others had only the tea pairing and the teas were absolutely amazing although I do think the price of the beverage pairings was a wee bit high. The staff all made us feel very welcome, especially Nicholas and Michael, but everyone we came in contact with just lovely. The room and ambience felt intimate and comfortable. Based on other reviews I was prepared for it to feel a bit stark with no table cloths and a minimalist vibe but there actually were tablecloths and the color palette of the room was very warm and inviting. Most expensive meal I've had but the experience was well worth it and I don't regret a penny of it.

This is one of my fav restaurant in London and it was my third time visit to the place. Food was as creative and tasty as always and service was also top notch. I would say it was a bit too creative on this time around but I think it’s good to be experimental. This is one of the fine dining restaurant you ca. go back multiple times and can enjoy each time perfectly. I like the woody cozy ambience and personally perfect for a date.

A great gastronomic experience overall. Everything is worth tasting. I highly recommend paying extra for the optional menu items as they were definitely worth it. The drinks were fantastic. The service is on point, and it seems the entire team serves every table together, so you have different people bringing different things. My only criticism is the fact that it's 10 courses over 3.5 hours. It felt a bit long, especially given the wait time between some courses. I think a 5 course menu (and combining the initial 3 finger foods into 1 course) would make more sense.

We went to the Clove Club to celebrate our wedding anniversary. From beginning to when you leave the staff is great. From the dining room you have front row seats to the open kitchen that works like clockwork. All dishes were nicely balanced and taste is impeccable. There were some unexpected combinations which all worked great together. Some reviews mention price, but it’s in line with other 2 michelin star restaurants we’ve been to. Maybe not fir people who love classic solid food, but if you like pure ingredients and unexpected combos this restaurant should be on you your list.

Unbelievable food and impecable service. Each dish was better than the previous and I can honestly say it was all incredibly delicious! It's enough food that you really are full by the end but not so much that you can't finish it all up. Ended up costing about £300 per person with the prefix menu and three drinks

First Impression : TOP NOTCH Amazing Service : The staff was attentive and friendly. Moreover, they were very knowledgeable with regards to wines and the dishes served Spectacular dining experience : Dishes were well executed. The ingredients and flavours were complex and researched. All wine pairings were spot on. Comfortable : The dining area is luminous and spacious and offers a great vantage view of the kitchen where all the magic takes place. A few pieces of advice: Take the eight course menu as it includes the Langoustine and the Duck dishes which ranked amongst our favourite. Definitely take the wine pairing over ordering separately: it will complement your dining experience. Be prepared to be here for four hours but you will not regret the time spent.

The Clove club is among my best food experiences in London. The service was excellent - I'm pescaterian and the staff were very accommodating with that without compromising the food choices for my partner who is a meat eater. The food was of the highest quality, the fish was fresh especially their snapper! The wine selection perfectly matched each course of the meal and the staff were very knowledgeable about the wineries as well as the wine varieties. The atmosphere is very relaxed and unpretentious. I would highly recommend The Clove Club to anyone who is looking for a unique food experience!

A fabulous fine dining restaurant inside Shoreditch Town Hall and a short walk from Old Street and even closer to Box Park. The food was wonderful and the staff were exceptional. The tasting menu was £145 plus another £145 for the wine pairing. This includes 8 courses plus 3 ‘finger food’ dishes to start and chocolates at the end.

Went with a friend for her birthday where we had the 8 course tasting menu. It was one of the best meals I’ve had in London and cocktails were excellent! All the dishes were fresh, delicious and extremely creatively displayed / thought out. Very hard to get a reservation given the high quality of the restaurant so definitely plan in advanced!

Lovely meal and excellent service. I loved all of the dishes leading up to the main course on the tasting menu but found the aubergine main to be a bit underwhelming unfortunately. We split the wine pairing as it was super expensive and still managed to leave smashed. Looks like it will be our last meal out for a while so we were glad to do it in style.

8 course tasting menu and wine pairing for 2. Relaxed, informal and super fun. The serving staff were really nice, knowledgeable and engaging. The food was incredible and if you can make it to the last course, its a treat! Around 3 hours which was perfect. The highlight was the sommelier who knew his stuff and had a great sense of humour. Michelin star tasting menu restaurants do not have to be stuffy, this was modern, fresh and comfortable. Thank you to all. Shout out to the guy from Toulouse and the Asian lady with the US accent.

Good experience. Most dishes were tasty. Nothing really stood out, although the truffle soup was incredible. Cocktails were average. Wine was incredible, as was the sommelier. Very overpriced

For such a grandiose building, the setting itself is beautifully intimate and tucked away around the corner of a lavish bar. All staff were incredibly friendly and charming without it seeming forced. The sommelier was incredibly well versed for one so young, and we were presented with a taster menu that impressed with every course, minus perhaps one which wasn't quite as good as the others. The wine card was one of the best I'd seen (the Beaujolais is highly recommended) and the evening and meal flowed nicely whilst being just the right amount of food. Overall it isn't cheap, but you get what you pay for when you got to a 2* Michelin restaurant ranked (currently) in the top 50 in the world. This was mean to be a romantic meal with my girlfriend for Valentines but she was sick so I took my giant nuisance of a best friend instead (it was still romantic, we brushed knees once or twice and exchanged many frivolities.) Overall highly recommend it for a special occasion if your wallet can afford it as you're looking at £400 for the full menu + a bottle or two of wine. Thank you to all the wonderful staff for a great night!

Not like other fine dining restaurants the environment was quite chill. The starters were good and gave me good impression initially but the mains were going downhill with the drink pairings. We ordered juice pairing and tea pairing but some of the drinks became almost like a torture to finish.

We had a lovely time and the food was mostly tasty, particularly the scallops and the fried chicken. We liked the informality of it.The maitre d’ was annoying so could’ve done with less time with her. The rest of the staff were lovely though.
