All right, either the world has gone bonkers or this is the most over hyped burger restaurant I had ever visited (at least since five guys moved to the UK). We have seen several branches open recently in London and wanted to give this chain a go. 4 of us (hungry) guys popped on Friday lunch to grab some quick bite. The queue was long and the place was packed. We could barely find a place to sit (thinking: if there is demand surely there is some justification, right?). Ordered Burgers, Fries and Fizzies. Nothing too complex. Took almost 20 minutes to get food. Ordering system is nicely displayed just... slow. So clearly not a "fast food" contender. Food: No offence but the only thing I liked about the burger was the bun (small but decent brioche type). The entire Burger was small and way too salty (something about the cheese?). Even your average whopper beats this burger hands down and your get a whole meal for the price of this burger. Fries was your basic supermarket crinkle cut. Just OK reasonable portion size. One of us ordered the cheese fries. It was horrible salty tasting (yep too salty again) paste. Why would you pay extra for that? And finally the drinks: Are you kidding? Between the ice used and the cup size, it finished before you can cope with the over salted food. Must be the smallest drink in any fast restaurant I ever visited. Paying £33 for: 1 x Regular Burger 1 x Double Burger 1 x Regular fries 1 x Cheese fries 2 x regular (tiny!) drinks. If you enjoy paying this sort of price, for slow service and really nothing out of the ordinary burger and fries, you need your head checked.

Your only option for good late night food. It's located a few minutes walking distance from Soho Square. The burger was good and the same goes with the fries. I tried the buffalo burger and fries. It was delicious but a bit pricey for a small portion. But overall, still a great burger place. They close at 3 am daily

A brilliant shake shack in a very busy area!! Very welcoming and quick staff members. The food was quality but quite expensive

1st time trying Shake Shack and Absolutely loved it. Had such a good vibe along with amazing food. Plenty spaces, just sit down and QR code on the table for scanning sends you to site menu then order your food and it comes to your table. Very delicious food, well known for their chicken and cheese sauce. The cheese sauce goes with everything... from the chips to the burgers to the chicken dippers. It even tastes good on its own. The chicken is also halal which was awesome. I especially recommend the matcha cookies and cream milkshake which was heavenly.

I’ve never had Shake shack before but I wanted to eat smth late and it was honestly the best chicken burger I’ve had in awhile. The chicken was massive and honestly worth its prize. And their lemonade was honestly the best I’ve had and massive for its size as well!! I was glad I was able to sit upstairs as downstairs was crowded with people. Tables were actually cleaned and they had staff cleaning up rubbish often. Staff members were nice and quick with the food.

Worst Shake Shack experience ever! The breads for burgers are small and sobby. For this price, there are many better choices. Fries are just ok. In terms of the environment, it's crowded, not the company's fault. But when it's so crowded, you need more staff to clean the place. I had my food on the upper floor. It was very crowded, which is ok, it's London right? But when people leave, even they throw the rubbish, tables and seats are just too dirty to dine. I saw only one staff member working and she's probably exhausted.

Popped in for lunch at peak time which was super busy. Ordered food and food took 20 mins to arrive. Had the mushroom truffle burger which tasted great, the fries were average and the drink cost £5 for a small. The Burger costs around £11-15, we also shared a drink and fries which cost over £30. For a fast food lunch meal and we left still hungry. I wouldn’t recommend. Definitely overpriced and could have gone somewhere else for a full belly.

I loved the fries, they were amazing, so crunchy and the best part the were peeled. The Burger is also nice, meat is juicy but soooo fatty. The size of the burger is perfect.

Dont get me wrong, I really like the burgers here as they are always hot and tasty. The problem I have is why it is so damn expensive compared to say 5 Guys. The fries are so small for the price, potatoes are cheap. The drink is also tiny and could do with being larger. The staff here were very nice and friendly and whilst busy things moved along nicely. Will probably try 5 Guys again next time to compare prices/sizes.

Very good overall experience. We visited this Shake Shack location as it was located in Central London, a stones throw from Leicester Square. The opening hours offered are very good. We had to wait a while to order but then ordered at the till. I found the menu slightly confusing as I was visiting for the first time, but the staff clarified when I asked. I then paid for the order (American Express not accepted) and then waited for my order to be prepared. It was handy that my name appeared on a screen which then changed to 'ready to collect' when the order was ready. The waiting time for our order was approximately 15-20 minutes which seemed a bit long for two burgers, two fries and a shake, but it was very busy. However, when I approached to collect my order, the staff were quite rude and didn't even interact with me; just simply put the food in front of me and then some delivery riders pushed in the way and his attention went to them. I wanted some napkins and condiments but he was already being hounded by a delivery driver and I felt ignored; so went to sit down. The toilets were very small but clean and so was the dining area (they had staff cleaning and disposing of rubbish). The staff member abruptly shouted at me not to use the blue roll (as I wasn't given and couldn't find napkins) but then she gave me napkins. Onto the food, it was delicious! We ordered a cheeseburger and original fries, and a larger burger with bacon loaded fries and it was delicious! The oreo milkshake was really good too. Really delicious food, and the fries were tasty and crispy! Burger was warm but freshly cooked. Overall a good visit. Pros - delicious food, easy ordering system, high quality ingredients and tasty milkshakes. Cons - poor customer service, long wait time and a bit overwhelming. I also found the portion sizes slightly small and the value for money was poor. Altogether a tasty treat, and a balanced three star review for what was a neutral experience in conclusion. I would recommend visiting, but probably when it is quieter.

Never had shake shack before. I got a milkshake and fries. Milkshake was nothing crazy, and a bit pricy. The fries however made up for it. The fries were very good. This shake shack was ran extremely well for how busy Leicester square can be. Got my food in a matter of minutes. Service was exceptional.

Avoid Shack Shack, not only did they cook screws in with the chips we ordered for take away so that when we opened up there was a screw cooked with it covered in grease that caused us to burn ourselves when we tried to pick it out. I then emailed in and messaged on social media and have received no response or compensation terrible, would not recommend.

I'm writing this review because of the impeccably kind server. On my receipt, it says her name is Leah. I didn't expect to experience that much level of kindness in a burger restaurant. In terms of the burger flavor, it tastes good but nothing extraordinary. I liked the ordering system, though. Taking names is such a brilliant and efficient way.

There's a lot of Shake Shacks popping up around the world. Considering how busy this outlet gets, they run a very tight ship to ensure they deliver a consistent product all the time. A nice alternative to the chains and franchises you could go to.

In my humble opinion this beats “five guys”. The beef tastes incredibly good; the bun is soft and the salad always looks bright and fresh. I’m pleased by the selection of condiments on offer; in particular the French style mustard. Not the cheapest place to eat by any means; but in terms of fast food and quality; absolutely worth it!

Got burgers and a shake just before a show. A big plus is the convenience as it is a quick meal to have when running behind schedule however the food wasn’t anything to write home about. We tried the pistachio shake and it barely tasted of pistachio, a big disappointment. Also don’t expect to find a seat if going late on a Saturday evening - unsurprisingly for London but can be inconvenient. Does exactly what it says on the tin.

Shake Shack, we had the chicken 🐔 burgers 🍔(Halal) here and truffle crinkle fries 🍟. A homemade lemonade and a Root Beer. I must say the pound is worthless in central London as x2 chicken burger x2 truffle fries and x2 drinks a whopping price of £50???? How preposterous! Stay away and save your money and go somewhere else where you can get a better deal. The truffle fries didn’t have enough sauce on them and we had to get some more. Scrimping at £50…outrageous. The place is like a full on zoo and is packed like mad…..anybody would think the food costs £2.99 😂. The toilet 🚻 has enough space for about 2 people. I understand that floor space is a premium in London but this is British idiocy at its finest.

Really delicious burgers, fancy crinkle cut fries. I’ve really enjoyed the meal and service as well. I’ve waited just 6 minutes for food even it was very busy. They’ve got vegan options and halal options(chicken) as well.

Pros: Decent enough burger. Nice chips. Ketchup/Mayo and Mustard sauce provided for free. Cons: Poor service. Burger was missing ingredients that we didn’t ask to remove. Relatively small portion size.

One of the few fast food chains I haven't tried yet, and I'm divided over it. Service was very quick, especially fast since it's next to Leicester Square. The burger was one of the tastiest of the fast food chains I have tried, even if presentation wasn't all there. I also had the pride shake as I wanted a bit of fruit flavour. That was very good so I'd recommend that while it lasts. Chips were a bit lackluster for me and the price was a bit steep for what I got. Good though if you are in a rush and want something familiar

Like all Shake Shacks, the food is pretty good. Nice, juicy burgers, with decent fries and beautiful hand spun shakes. The smoke Shack burgers are very nice, although slightly overwhelming in its toppings. The crinkle fries are decent, but the cheese sauce ruins, because it's not even warm, and is quite hardened by the time you get it. Would not recommend. Perhaps if they added meat and onions, to make it like a proper animal fries. On the other hand, the hand spun milkshakes are delightful, and are worth every penny. Additionally, the staff are all very friendly and I received my food quite quickly given how busy it was.

I freaking love a daytime, or late night shake shack. The burgers are tasty, fatty, and just delicious. There can be a long line sometimes as well, well worth it. The milkshakes are also very tasty

Tried for the first time! The food tasted amazing, but for the price you pay… portion should have been bigger. The drink? £5 but due to the amount of ice cubes it was finished before I was half way through my meal. Great to visit once… will probably never visit again.

As we don’t have a shake Shack in Paris, we really wanted to try the it. We took one chicken Shack, one vegan burger, and some fries. Let’s start with this, the vegan burger is so so good. Super tasty, everything is balanced, your don’t even feel like it’s vegan. The chicken Shack is good but you might want to add on some sauce. The fries are really good. A bit crowded, but totally recommend it

Loved this place! Beef hotdog, burger and fries tasted amazing and perfect portions (not for young boys for sure!) Very clean tables, there was a help upstairs to empty the trays even for you! If you're in the neighborhood and want a quick bite before coming back to London souvenir shopping, give this place a try!

My first time visiting Shake Shack! The food was great and we really enjoyed the cheesy fries too. I would love to try one of their milkshakes next time. An improvement would be for them to have offered the topping for the cheese burger.

Very good and convenient location. Shroom is still my favorite. The staff is efficient. There is a bit of wait but it’s worth it ! Tables available quickly, an employee is cleaning it between each customer.

Best fast food burger I've ever had. The meat was cooked perfectly and melted into juices as I devoured into the burger. Fries were extremely underwhelming however and I recommend passing on them, especially for the steep price of around £4.50. The burger though. It was so good, I'm giving this review the full 5 stars.

  • 2/5 Diogo T. 2 years ago on Google
The meat patties are great, but the shakes are really on the threahold of edible. The mushroom pattie is tasty but with the consistency of rubber. The service follows the general fast food format, order at til and take tray to table. It is overpriced for what you get, but still probably one of the least expensive options in that location. My advice would be to get 10 min on a bus away from that street and give your wallet and taste buds a better treat.

Great location! Love it after a night out! The cheesy fries are my absolute favourite! I also love their milkshakes!

in my opinion overpriced for the quality.. the cheese sauce on the cheese fries tasted powdery as if the flour/thickening agent hadn't been cooked out and the burger tasted like old oil, the tomato was mushy probably old. the fries by themselves were nice though

I had lunch over here. I was quite nice. I ate a shack burger and featured shake. Burger was really good. Burger bun was soft. Shake was bit too much 😅. But I enjoyed it. I don't why I didn't take chips. But definitely recommend burger with chips.

I always enjoy shake shack, it was even better as they gave an NHS discount to my friend and we had 1 burger free!!! I had the beef burger with cheese fries, the chicken pieces were delicious but slightly greasy. I had a soft drink this time but they do amazing soft drinks. Plenty of seating. Friendly staff but they did have some trouble using the till to get the discount to work. I would recommend visiting!

Do not go here! Go to McDonald’s instead! My experience was awful from the moment I stepped into the door, completely overcrowded people skipping the queue bashing into one another, no staff around to guide customers felt very unsafe for children, eventually got to the till, was greeted with complete rudeness especially when we requested no mayo/pickles in 2 of the orders in fact ! We got an eye roll! Then after getting the food changed, they still didn’t have the amendments correct. Moving on we were told we wouldn’t be able to have seating unless we found it ourselves so 2 of our party ventured upstairs to find a table as they got about half way up they was then aggressively shouted at by the employee on the staircase. There were staff walking around watching us eat to speed us up, which made us feel rushed and was incredibly rude. After all that the food was awful, it was dry and not flavourful and so expensive. Save your time and money and go to McDonald’s as the food is nice than here!
