Food was fresh and portion sizes were enough. Thoroughly enjoyed the gambas and it’s flavour. Location was easy to find. Just a heads up, Dean street outlet do not accept reservations! Our experience wasn’t exactly marvellous, as we felt like we weren’t treated equally like the other customers. I don’t think it’s anyone fault but it felt like we didn’t order wine / more dishes for them to give us better service than the customers beside us. Their dishes were cleared promptly when finished, water was refilled promptly, we had to ask twice for our water to arrive. It was very bustling and busy, but we were let down by feeling like we weren’t valued as customers. During payment, while I was filling up the feedback, someone just took my card and tap it on the machine by himself. It didn’t exactly lived up to its one Michelin standards and I probably would have expected friendly and equal customer service. Perhaps the other outlets are more deserving of the Michelin star but not Dean street I’m afraid. :(

Absolutely amazing place. Highly recommended to everyone in any occasion. Very professional and amazing good. Their Arroz de carabineros is to die for if you are shrimp/prawn lover like me. Service was very prompt and very attentive. Everyone explained the dish well and timed perfectly. Maybe not good for big group but perfect for smaller group or intimate occasion. I would definitely go back there.

I loved dining here, had some of the best authentic Spanish tapas I’ve tasted. Every dish was a hit. Quality of the ingredients and attention to detail for every dish is apparent. Highly highly recommend! Limited bar seating inside, with a few tables for outdoor seating. Pan con tomate was a great starting tapas, showcasing simplicity at its best. Delicious sourdough, fragrant olive oil, and ripe tomatoes made for a perfect bite. The gambas rojas were flavour bombs. The shrimp was succulent and cooked to perfection. Their tortillas also blew me away. They tortilla itself is cooked perfectly, with a runnier centre within. I haven’t been to too many places even in Spain that get it like this. It’s quite rich due to the addition of their aeoli topping. The mushrooms with cured yolk was also a favourite of mine. Buttery mixed mushrooms topped with a runny yolk which you mix in; this dish was super indulgent and tasty. I loved the different textures from the oyster, chanterelle, and morel mushrooms. Fennel salad was the only dish that I wasn’t wowed by. The fennel itself was crisp in thin ribbons, but was quite lightly dressed and tasted bland relative to the other dishes.

Top-notch! Barrafina does not disappoint. Every dish was delicious. Nice to enjoy well crafted Spanish tapas in a casual bar dining experience. Staff were friendly and helpful with explaining the menu. Can’t wait to go back!

This was a bustling location, small and compact with bar seating to watch all the magic in the kitchen unfold before you. My favorites were the croquettes, the prawn tortilla, the bread with tomato, and the beef tenderloin. Everything is prepared with precision though and a certain quality that’s amazing to see.

The shrimp served at this restaurant is absolutely delectable. In fact, it was so mouthwatering that I couldn't resist ordering another, larger portion. When it comes to Spanish restaurants worth visiting, this one definitely makes the list. They operate on a walk-in basis only, not accepting table reservations. Upon my arrival, I was surprised to find that even though the restaurant had just opened, there were no customers in sight. However, within a mere half an hour, the place was packed with diners occupying every table. Those who arrived later had to patiently wait in line. But let me assure you, the wait is well worth it. Trust me on this one.

So far, the best tapas I’ve had outside of Spain and in this country! You can only usually get worthwhile tapas in Spain, but this is a well worthwhile restaurant! Great atmosphere, fantastic specials and lovely staff. Beatrice had amazing service!

An excellent tapas bar; one of my favorite stops in London. I hadn't visited in a while so this my first time at this relocated address. A little bigger but the vibe is still great. Excellent food! The best patatas bravas and wonderful 🍷 selections...

We ordered the tomato toast, croquettes, cured tuna, octopus, shrimp. The shrimp and the tomato toast were amazing. The rest of the dishes were alright, not what they used to taste. Service was good but could be a little more attentive.

The most consistently excellent Spanish restaurant in London. This is the only place that manages to match the buzz/atmosphere you get in cities like Madrid. Barrafina in soho never fails to amaze me with its dedication to flavour and excellent service. They regularly change the specials menu and everything is always delicious. The white wine list is also brilliant. I cannot stop returning!

Barrafina offers an exceptional Spanish culinary journey. The flavors were a symphony of Spanish cuisine, each dish a delightful surprise. The restaurant’s ambiance successfully transported me to Spain, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The attentive service added to the overall experience, making it an evening to remember. What’s more, I was lucky enough to visit on a day with no queue, but only after a few minutes, it was full. Lucky me! If you appreciate authentic Spanish cuisine and a memorable dining experience, Barrafina is the place to go!

Loved loved loved Barrafina on Dean Street. We already had most of our London meals planned out and didn't realize this was just a short walk from our hotel, but we were intrigued seeing it packed each evening as we walked by so we decided to make a stop for a late lunch (when it was less busy) on our third day, and we're so glad we did. First, a shout-out to the kitchen staff. Everyone was so, so, so generous and hospitable despite how busy it was, and it seemed like the staff truly loved to be there. The bar seating allowed us to chat with multiple chefs, and that just added to the wonderful vibes. Chef Milla even indulged us with photos in the kitchen area behind the bar counter! The food was just as exceptional. As huge fans of tapas, we loved the pan con tomate (clearly a favorite here), the baby gem, and the grilled squid. We also had the langoustine special, which was cooked and flavored perfectly. We would've had more but we had a big dinner lined up. Overall, we had an absolute blast at Barrafina, and the food and service definitely warrant its Michelin Star. I'd recommend going during off-peak hours (the menu I believe is the same throughout the day) to avoid to long waits, but given the quality of the food and hospitality, Barrafina is still worth the wait. Will certainly be back when in London.

Honestly this might be the best restaurant in london when it comes to both price and quality ratio. I understand why it’s so hyped now. The food was simply amazing and the staff there reminded me of my primary school friend back in China called Alex. Everything was so fresh, and so well crafted, I will definitely come back. Only down side is that it gets quite crowded with bizness ppl, and they get drunk quite fast and also get quite annoying

A true tapas bar with a michelin star. Every dish was fresh and tasty. Very friendly crew. Nice selection of wines by glass or bottle. Overall, good value for money.

Amazing food and staff. Although some of the items were sold out due to a busy night, whatever we had was extremely delicious and very fresh. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They were genuine and had great recommendations. Wait is a bit long and you actually have to wait in line. But it is worth it.

Overall, good Spanish food but a little bit overrated in my opinion. The problem with all these Michelin restaurants is that I feel rushed by the staff to leave quickly, right after eating. So normally I would not want to repeat the experience because of this reason which is extremely important to me because in the end all experience is very important, not only the food. Also, the space for eating for each person is a bit tiny. It's like in a low cost plane.

Everything were great! My favorites were tortilla and turbot; but seriously, I loved all dishes & the dessert. Padron peppers could be better tho! 4stars because their service was a bit rush, and they tried to take away our fish dish even tho there were still a lot of meat in it.

Cool and vibrant tapas place - fast service and the live cooking or part of what you see is very entertaining despite leaving the place with smelly clothes…

Delicious food, great service and atmosphere - what else could you need. We had the daily special chorizo croquettes which were the highlight of the meals for me. Also had lemon sole, gambas rojas and patas bravas, all of which were fresh and beautifully cooked.

It is a simple setup and layout with a bustling vibe that reflects where their real focus is: the food and the service - and they nailed it. Some of the dishes I’ll definitely remember when I’m in the nursing home being fed reheated slop. I stepped out of the drizzle and snow into a place running at a different speed to the world outside. There was no line, probably due to the looming rail strike and the light snow - but if there is, wait it out. The menu boasts a tantalizing array of tapas, the well curated wine list elevates the dining experience, complementing the dishes well, the staff recommended some good wines so if you don’t know what to get, you can ask and are in safe hands. Sitting at the counter is an entertaining and captivating spectacle, the skills of the chefs who are moving fast while creating the delectable delights you will enjoy, right before your eyes. The waitstaff graciously answered my questions about the restaurant, wine and the dishes. Located conveniently for a pre-theatre feast that might even overshadow the show you see after. Barrafina is a benchmark for tapas, as I ate the dishes I felt I could understand the intent of the food and the balance of flavours, thinking “I get it”, “I dig it” and “that’s what that dish is meant to be like”.

We walked past this restaurant when walking around London and it looked so intriguing that we decided to try it for lunch the following day. We waited for a table for 30 min (while having drinks & snacks) and it was so worth it. Fantastic flavours, excellent wines and service. Will go on my "must visit again list" for sure.

Glad to see this place is still pumping out delicious food after all these years! Last visit was close to 10 years ago, and still feels vibrant! Fantastic crew as always - always a fun meal with the awesome chefs! Recommend showing up at opening time to make sure to get a seat, otherwise they may be a queue!

The vibe was great, staff were very approachable and nice. But the selection of food might need to change a bit and be just a little bit exotic to attract tapas fans like us. The octopus, macerel and the port steak dishes are still very similar to the ones we had two years ago, you would hope to have some wow factors...

Stumbled upon this place while walking around London and so glad I did. The staff was pleasantly helpful. Fernando gave A+ recommendations and did not disappoint. The food was absolutely amazing and we’ll definitely be back next time we are in town.
