Not open to the public but still worth visiting and looking up at the tower. It can be seen from a long distance away from high up areas of London. Obviously without the tower being open there not much to see when there but it's still worth seeing. I wanted to go as it's something I have seen many times online and in the background of TV programs so I wanted to visit so I could say I have been there.

Sadly not generally open to the public except on a couple of days each year during London's Open House. It's a great shame as the tower's central location gives you by far the best views of London - other accessible towers are too far east. You don't even have to walk. You just sit while the floor rotates.

Business event so lucky to visit again and enjoy hospitality in the revolving restaurant at the top. High security as it's still a working BT site. Iconic building with great panoramic views of London.

I used to live around here, everytime I was lost, I just have to look up - this cylinder will tell me where to get the f back - you can even see it near the Thames river! Who needs map when you have this massive pole over your head.

Shame it is not open to the public. Truly an iconic fixture in the silhouette of Londons buildings. Completed in 1964 and standing at 189 metres tall it was the tallest building in the UK until 1980.

I would suggest this is still the best place for a panoramic view of London, but It's very hard to get into. To my knowledge, it is only possible through Open House London or corporate party. Well worth it if you should be lucky enough to get a chance.

What an iconic tower with great views of London, I hope it opens to public, it was open at some point to public but now people can only visit this rotating restaurants at top by invitation from BT. Please see some photos.

A spectacular icon of twentieth century communications technology. While the iconic dishes have mostly gone nowadays (that technology has moved on), the building still towers over Fitzrovia. The tower itself isn't open to the public but there are several special open days and opportunities during the year, so seize the chance to go up if you can, the views from the top are simply spectacular.

What a venue to throw a party. We were asked by our client to throw a summer of 69 themed party at the BT tower and it was very exciting. The venue is of course very unique and the fact it does a full 360 revolution whilst you are dancing away is a USP to say the least. The venue staff were perfect. Everyone of them were amazing and we could not of wanted it any better. We cannot wait to be back here planning events for our clients.

The BT Tower is a communications tower located in Fitzrovia, London, owned by BT Group. It has been previously known as the GPO Tower, the Post Office Tower and the Telecom Tower. The main structure is 177 metres (581 ft) high, with a further section of aerial rigging bringing the total height to 191 metres (627 ft). Its Post Office code was YTOW.

Absolutely brilliant day taking my kids to see Santa. Stunning views from the top and a chance to be on a revolving floor feels like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity I'm so glad I just got to be part of it. Every staff member in the building seems to be full of cheer and did an excellent job. If I ever get a chance to go back I will because the views are stunning.

The BT Tower is one of many iconic London things to see, we spotted it pushing out of the skyline walking away from Tottenham court road, it was glimmering int the sun shine and looked fabulous.

One of the best quirky high up attractions in London. Itโ€™s a little run down but good fun getting up in the speedy (over 1,000 feet a minute) lift. From the hospitality floor, up high, thereโ€™s an amazing view of the city with lots of handy signs so you know where everything is. If youโ€™re lucky theyโ€™ll set the floor to move so youโ€™ll literally be rotating around! ๐Ÿ™ƒ

We were unable to go inside when we visited. This was located nearby our hotel room and we saw it everyday, wanting to visit inside. Itโ€™s a very nice landmark (especially for lost tourists). I very much appreciated how easy it was to know which direction to head for our hotel at the end of the day. The views have to be great inside!

BT tower as a landmark for walks in Regent's Park, Bakers Street and Marylebone. Unfortunately, it has been closed to public access since the 1971 explosion. You can also enjoy this beautiful tower from the Sky Gardens and the Shard.

It's a real loss to Londoners that one can't visit this beautiful iconic building anymore...it's virtually ignored now. I think London's missing a great trick by not opening it...should be in use, as a restaurant and lots of other things...I came here as a child in the 60's with my dad, I can still remember the view...

Please note that you're not allowed into the tower as a member of the public except for certain rare events. ---------------------------------------- I went to the BT Tower on Safer Internet Day and was blown away by its facilities. The auditorium space and the breakout rooms for small groups helped us focus on important information, and we even got to go to the revolving restaurant at the top for lunch, which was lovely.

Not that easy to get to if your disabled and accessibility in there isn't that great. Other than that really nice place and conference room is bright. Restaurant on the top floor is perfect for views all around London

The views from BT Tower are amazing, as the top turns put your phone on time lapse and you will get some stunning film. The views at dusk are great to see light to dark whilst moving the film you get is stunning. The reception area for visitors is clean, staff are helpful.

I was lucky enough to be invited last Tuesday for a meal @ the top . Amazing, stunning views, London @ night quite breathtaking, sad to go back down, lift took 7 seconds up & down. Was able to grab a momentum.

Amazing views of London and some interesting films to watch downstairs in the auditorium. Visiting the tower is by invite only but I was lucky enough to win a competition through BT to go. The lift to get to the revolving floor 34 was quick. It takes about 25 mins to go 360 degrees. We went round twice before but was switched off.

Canโ€™t get a good view of the tower easily, but if you walk around you will get a great one. The Tower is closed to the public unfortunately.

It is a radio tower located in Fitzrovia area of London, UK, owned by British Telecom. The Tower has also been known as the Post Office Tower and London Telecom Tower. Notably, the tower is not the BT Centre, the headquarters of the BT group. To the outside world, the inside of the BT tower is a mystery. As an important relay station for microwave communications, the BT Tower is not even marked on the Maps of the UK Land Survey Department. The Bt Tower opened to the public in 1965. In response to security threats, from the early 1970s the BT tower was closed to the public for most of the time and used only for internal company entertainment. The bt Tower restaurant closed in 1980 and was then invitation-only. To coincide with the Open House event, which begins on September 19, 2010. The BT Tower opened to the public in September, the first time the London landmark has been open to the public in nearly 30 years.

I went to the top where it would move around slowly. You won't feel a thing. But the scenery as far as you can see, is breathtaking.

My husband and I along with 9 other couples were invited to the BT Tower on Friday 13th January. It was a lovely experience, we went for afternoon tea. Sadly the tea was a very disappointing experience (no on likes tea that tastes of coffee because the caterers had not thought to ensure that one flask is kept solely for hot water or tea while another one is used just to serve coffee - a rookie mistake they no doubt repeat each time)but this could detract from the spectacular views across London. I had opted for the 3pm session which meant we could see London in the cold, crisp bright sunshine and as the sun set the evening provided the wonderful lights of London town. A most enjoyable Friday afternoon/evening, we went home hungry and thirsty but happy. I can't imagine there isn't one person who would turn down the opportunity to enjoy the revolving BT Tower. It's a once in a lifetime chance, I'm so glad I got it.

Excellent engineering construction. One of the best iconic buildings not only in London but in UK in general. Amazing view at the top and one of the hardest that you could ticked on your bucket list as it's already closed to the general public. So grab the opportunity to visit whenever you'll be given a chance. The revolving restaurant or the rotating floor is the highlight plus the very fast and smooth lift service. And the bonus is the faultless and super friendly staff.

Second time visiting the observation deck and was blessed with gorgeous weather and the best ever guide, D. Some of the best ever views of London and an experience not to be missed. It's a shame it's no longer open to the general public.
