Absolutely loved this restaurant! Hidden gem (literally! You’ll find out when you go there) Beautifully designed and a nice touch with the lighted windows as the restaurant is underground. The live music was the right amount of ambience and not overly loud. Food was spectacular and authentic with the biggest surprise is the value!! Lovely bar and events room available too but I didn’t get to go. Next time!

Food was amazing. Could not fault it. Perfectly priced and beautifully presented, French cuisine. The service was slow at times but did not hinder our experience much. We went to celebrate a friends birthday. You will definitely need to book. It was very busy. The band were a nice touch playing in the background. The atmosphere was very pleasant.

This place is amazing for all French cuisine lovers. The food is great and very tasty. I enjoyed the soup the most. The fresh bread and butter was amazing. The staffs were polite and friendly. Everyone that interacted with us was super nice. The live jazz was great. It gave the restaurant a classic vibe. We were not seating too close to the live jazz so the sound didn’t bother us. But it could be load if you seat close to them. Overall, it was a great restaurant.

Always safe and reliable to eat at Brasserie Zédel so a strong four stars. Without further ado … Here’s what I liked: • Always a great atmosphere • Service generally good • Food consistent (this time I had the Halibut which was cooked perfectly and two portions of fries as they’re that good!) • The bread at the start is always moreish. This time it was warm and crisp. Very nice. • Great to host guests • Pleasant (live) jazz music • The desserts What I didn’t like: • Wine prices are too high. From £15 for a small glass is not in keeping with the French brasserie spirit at all. • Service whilst generally good can be hit and miss • Time to roll out a few more non meat options This is constructive criticism as I really enjoy going here and will continue to do so. Do I recommend going? YES Will I go again? YES Was it good value? YES Price point: $$ Excuse the photos- they don’t do the food justice but it was dark and ‘ambient’

Somebody recommended this to us and I now know why. We loved having a relaxed dinner here. The interior of this place and the waiter service is really fancy, they truly make you feel special! There also a singer with live music in the background. My husband had their £12.5 for two course meal (such a good value for how fancy the place feels) and I ordered fish. You can easily keep the bill under £20 per person if there is no alcohol. Definitely recommend this as a date spot with your significant other.

The atmosphere is outstanding, with stunning decor and a vibrant buzz through the whole place. The food and portion sizes were perfect, the caramelised banana sundae was definitely one of the best desserts I’ve ever eaten. Service was surprisingly speedy considering how busy it was. Cannot fault this beautiful place and would love to return.

What a gem of a place, like stepping back to the 1930s in Paris. Super decor great dinning room, it was and maybe still is the largest in London. Classic French Menu massive French vibe brought back happy memories of when we could travel. Food was amazing, efficient service fair pricing. I will be back.

Proper fast food. Came here an hour before a theatre showing and had our food served to us literally 1-2 minutes after selecting from the menu. Classic French items, which don't have the biggest appeal for me, but they tasted very good nonetheless. We paid up 25 minutes after arriving (15% service included in the bill). The atmosphere is a real basement buzz, a combination of chatter and the jazz singers bouncing off all six walls. You start to forget you're literally by/beneath Piccadilly Circus.

Located a couple of hundred meter of the Piccadilly tube stop Regent Street entrance. Entrance on the entrance level Floor is of a small French wine bar, but two flights down and it’s very much a different scene with art deco interior, massive chandelier and jazz singers for the afternoon. The Formula three course came with a glass of wine, the red being drinkable. The house wine the waiter noted. Good selection and extensive menu a number of prix offers. Some had the Formulae menu- three courses with glass of wine and water which had the celeriac salad starter which was excellent. The lobster bisque of the Ala carte was also great- no lobster meat in it though. Back to Formulae Menu, The coq du vin was a massive portion and looked appetising. The dorado filler was good but unfortunately unimaginative! The hake was a dry but salvaged by the chervil butter sauce with its 4 clams. The lemon meringue was good. Something similar to that of m&S said one of the diners. Service was present but didn’t intrude. Jazz live in the back was very much a take it or leave it depending on distance from the stage.

This was my second visit to Zedel Restaurant. The restaurant was way too busy, crowded, and loud. The service was okay despite being charged with the service charge. The creme potato soup was amazing. I didn't enjoy my main course but I did enjoy the dessert. Overall our lunch date was enjoyable.

The reputation is well deserved. Great food. I can especially recommend the venison, and the Rum Baba. Not too noisy, even though the place was full. High ceilings help with that. There was also a band playing from 8PM. Highly recommended, would be happy to visit again.

I went to an early dinner here with three friends, it's a very cool looking restaurant with a neat vibe. I enjoyed the cocktails, the pork chop was good and the sliced carrot starter was tasty. I wouldn't recommend the tripe sausage unless you really love tripe and know what your getting into.

I have been dying to visit this place for some time and it doesn't disappoint. Wonderful decor with a feeling of indulgent opulence. Service was impeccable and food divine. Lovely choice of cocktails. I can't wait to come back to try the bar American

Our meal for two came to £119 for two courses each, a couple of sides, a cocktail and a glass or two of wine each. The main courses were the chopped steak that was average at best; and the onglet which was average. (Properly cooked but so small.) Service was proficient. Atmosphere always good.

Brasserie Zédel provides a distinctive French dining experience nestled in the heart of London. With a menu thoughtfully curated to delight diverse palates through a superb seasonal selection of ingredients, the culinary journey is truly captivating. Despite its underground setting, the establishment boasts a remarkable atmosphere, seamlessly blending ambiance and attention to detail. My visit to Brasserie Zédel was a delightful and memorable experience.

Why I never heard about this place? Is amazing. The colours and the architecture are super! A cozy place with great customer service to invite family, friends and even have a birthday celebration. Food is delicious, wine and dessert. I tried the peach and lemon sorbet ! Great attention for our anniversary they even got us two macaroni 😉❤️. Book your place and go this Xmas.

4.25 stars. Amazing space and good french food. Super convenient if seeing a show in Piccadilly. Bit confused when I walked in as the bistro is downstairs. Once you get downstairs it's a matter of choosing the brasserie rather than the American bar. The space itself is lovely. Lucky I had booked for 6pm on a Monday as those ahead of me without bookings were being seated at the bar. Suggest you book. When checking in mention you a show to attend and they will make sure they expedite your order Food was good. Entrees were sensational (herring plus a cheese and walnut salad. Mains were good (steak tartare and seafood soup). Service was attentive. £90 with one beer and tap water.

Both the bar and brasserie were amazing! Really reasonably priced, the staff were friendly and helpful and the band were phenomenal. Felt like I was getting a luxurious experience without the horrifying price tag. My personal favourite the french onion soup! Overall, a really special experience.

An entertaining location for dinner with friends in Soho. The brasserie must host more than 200 guests, but still service is extremely fast, probably not the kindest, but definitely efficient. Food is never disappointing as well as the music scene

The food was amazing and well presented, the place looked so amazing! Everything about the place made me enjoy eating here. The reason for a 3 star is because my friend fell down the stairs and no staff members came up to her and helped her.

Had a lovely meal with 2 friends. Excellent choice. Such a wonderful setting - really feels such an authentic brasserie. Very opulent setting. Food was lovely overall, duck was excellent, puddings good - dauphinois potatoes rather disappointing and cumin roasted carrots underwhelming. A bit overpriced and a 15% service charge.

A hidden gem known only to locals, and I'm almost tempted to keep it that way! This review is specifically for Bar Americain. The bar snacks were fantastic, and the drinks were impressively strong and well-made. The ambiance can get a bit echoey when it's busy, so you might need to speak up. The service is fantastic, although understandably more challenging during peak hours. Other than that, there's nothing to fault about this place, and I would absolutely come back anytime, especially when it's not too crowded.

This place is absolutely amazing! I would definitely make a reservation before going. I was lucky enough to get a seat at the bar. I got the 3 course meal and for the price, the quality was out of this world. If you’re in London, don’t pass this place up. Come for the food, stay for the live music.

We enjoyed our meals very much. The service and interior were beautiful and the price was not top excessive. I especially enjoyed the prix fixe menu with the potato and leek soup and the dahl. The only thing was that the desserts were all a little too sweet.

I keep returning to Brasserie Zedel for big birthday celebrations and I wasn’t disappointed this time round neither. Unique atmosphere, attentive service throughout the courses. Reception staff reads booking notes on special requirements for celebration. Food is exquisite for its price. Our waiter Henri was an absolute gem with great spirits and good sense of humour, really made my birthday dinner very special and entertaining. Highly recommend!

I loved the place, the atmosphere, art-deco design and jazz music were incredible! Food was good, but I wouldn't say it was something spectacular. But anyways, I really enjoyed the time and the overall vibe, so 5 stars.

What a wonderful place to dine in! A good experience, the place was opulent, marbles everywhere and like in a cabaret and we felt like we were taken back in time. Our food choices were awesome, we recommend the escargot, lobster bisque and coq au vain, the servers were great too, will definitely come back for more.

This place was my family's first Michelin restaurant in London, we had great meals and desserts, the price is worthy, the location is cool, there are a pub, a theater in the same building. I think that it's a good place for a family's dinner. Oh~ their onion soup is soooooo good ! I still remember the taste!!

I had a good experience at Zedel Restaurant with its unique atmosphere and high-quality cuisine. The dishes, while delicious and well-presented, came in small portions. It's a bit expensive, but it offers a distinct dining experience.

  • 5/5 Chloe L. 3 months ago on Google New
Central location, great French cuisine on a slightly pricey end (but if you account the location it is one of the more reasonable restaurants in the area for the quality of dining) there is live band at 8pm and the music was great. We only had 1 hr 45 mins to eat which may seem like alot of time, but because they really take care to serve you course by course, it takes up the whole duration perfectly. The staff were very quick and do their job well. Had the Steak Americain, which was small but the sauce was very good and the steak was cooked very well. We also ate the sea bream as part of the Formulae, which was very very good despite the slightly small portion. I highly recommend it for those who don't eat beef. Additionally, the celeriac salad was so good and the lemon meringue tart was abit sweet for my liking but was well done. The potato leek soup, as part of the prix de menu was a very authentic French cream soup, would order it by itself.

We ate here for my fiance's birthday and the food was really good. We ordered the French onion soup, steak tartare and the sirloins for our mains. Service from our waiter Harry was spot on! He always smiled and was super attentive, he even brought us a free strawberry macaron. Overall good place to eat, definitely worth trying!

Dropped in to Zedel for pre show dinner. Loved it. What a great location and venue. A trip back into the golden era. Great cocktails, super service and some very delicious food. Highly recommended and would come again

Great service from the team but the food let them down. The Sunday special, Tarragon roasted chicken smelt pungent, wasn't properly seasoned, tasteless and dry. However, although the steak my daughter ate was tasty it was still undone. Was just bloody in the middle that she couldn't finish it. Not value for money sadly.

One of many visits to Brasserie Zedel today. 3 courses each with one bottle of wine and cocktails, £277 for four. Zedel is all about the amazing restaurant space and great bar. The service is also great, but the food plays a less important role. It’s good, but it’s not the best French food in London by some distance. That said, service is friendly and super rapid, drinks are excellent. Visiting London? Definitely eat here. Londoner? Maybe look at other smaller French options.

Considering the quality and experience, the price is quite reasonable! The food was tasty, filling, and there is a wide variety of options. Staff was attentive and very accommodating! Live music everyday from 8 pm onward which is amazing. Loved it and hope to be back!

Really delicious French food and good service. There was also nice music halfway through dinner and the atmosphere was really lovely. Definitely want to come back soon and try other things!

Our most magical and favourite hidden secret in Piccadilly Circus. We love it for the ambience, the food, the afternoon and late night music, the decor, the mean cocktails and the staff. In one word, perfection. It's the best spot before or after a show, a delight when combined with a performance at the Crazy Coqs. Their New Year party is a real happening too, one for the social calendar. Dress up and do it in style!

  • 5/5 Emily R. 2 years ago on Google
Delicious set menu. Staff great as always. We were walk ins (only 2 of us) and it's best to book if you're a bigger group. Decorated nicely for Christmas. Have visited many times during the year but Christmas feels more special.
