We were sludging through a soggy Soho, when we were approached by a young woman that had seen us at the Royal Opera House, 20 minutes earlier. She was on our way to eat here and suggested that we come too. Though a sudden phone call took her away. Used to eating alone (at least I mean as solo human and solo), we thought we would try it anyway. You get what you pay for, or do you? Cloying curry sauce, no doubt made from pouring boiling water on to dry curry block, and other substandard gunk, disappointed; there was at least somewhat when hunger dictates. The base is not working in the ladies, Mummy was left to use the gents. Loud and canteenlike, this place is far from comfortable. Especially if sitting on one of the long benches shared with heavy or ungainly people at other tables. Our change was not brought back. But seeing as it was only £1 and perhaps the staff are poorly paid, we hope that they would keep it rather than the owner get it.

The food was salty and full of MSG. The waitresses were rude. Go elsewhere because there are other 'eat all you can' or Buffet restaurants in China Town with good selection of Chinese foods.

This restaurant at Chinatown London offers dine in all you can eat for £12 and take away of selected foods for £6. There are wide selection and varieties of cooked Chinese foods, chicken, beef, vegetables with rice and noodles. If you are at Chinatown, looking for a quick fix for your hunger, and looking for buffet style, and don't wish to burn a hole in your pocket, then can consider this place! There are limited seatings inside the restaurant, and you may have to wait as when we visited, it was full house. You have to pay first to eat. If I was not wrong, they only accept cash!

Delicious as always. A good selection of food. Back to being a serve buffet! Have always come here after theatre and it's still as good as it was before! Cash only prior to eating. Ignore the service, you're paying far less than a sit down meal! Love the salt and pepper beef!

Absolutely disgusting waste of money, time and effort! Do not recommend buying any of their pastry IT IS A TOTAL SCAM Saying their pastries are freshly made but IT IS NOT it is overnight food - again absolutely disgusting! Most of the pastries we bought are COLD and FLOURY!!!! A 6 grader could do better 😂 MOREOVER the staff is DISHONEST and RUDE!! They would not let us stay and eat because it is take away price, it’s totally fine but they could have told us before. The environment is very unpleasant… 😔 DO NOT RECOMMEND!! We do not want there to be another victim

good option if you are looking for a quick meal at a good price. it's all you can eat formula. they do not accept credit card so make sure you bring cash with you. the restaurant is in the middle of Chinatown near Piccadilly circus. the buffet format ensure you can choose what you want, as much as you want.

MOULDY CAKE!!! AVOID the bakery… We paid around £7 (!!) for a chocolate roll cake, and when we cut it - mouldy inside! Terrible! See photos (this is not fruit). We will be avoiding this bakery and restaurant from now on.

Can’t recommend this place honestly, for £15 I suppose it is okay although I probably won’t be back here again as the food didn’t taste particularly good, didn’t have a lot as was worried I’d get sick from it, very greasy, the sweet and sour sauce wasn’t that nice and the customer service just wasn’t there. Felt a bit uncomfortable in this restaurant and the “eat all your food or pay more money policy” made me feel pressured to finish everything which doesn’t equate to a nice dining experience. Don’t think I’ll be back here again

FOR THE CAKE SHOP**** I got two coconut custard buns and a Roast pork Bao, these were lovely! I would defiantly buy from here again. Sadly the lady who served me was rude though.

Kowloon Restaurant in Chinatown is a bakery/Cantonese all-you-can-eat. The restaurant itself is small and unassuming, with the bakery attached next to it. This isn't my usual goto for quick bites but when I do I have the Char Siu (BBQ Pork) buns and the Sesame Seed Balls from the bakery to takeaway which are cheap in price and cheerful. The pastries are made in-house, and they have a wide variety of options to choose from. The service in the bakery section is also friendly and efficient, making it a great place to go for a quick and cheap bite to eat.

Worst ever experience I've had in a restaurant. Some restaurants are bad but even bad is like a benchmark for this one. Visited Kowloon at night when the temperature was around 23 but it felt more than 32 whilst sitting inside. Moreover, they didn't turn on the AC either (don't understand the use of those 5 ACs). Maybe it was a tactic to make people buy drinks but a very bad idea by making your customers suffer for it. The fried items felt 'too fried' and the fried rice felt like boiled rice with minute pieces of egg in it. Being hungry for almost the whole day, this was the last thing I would have wanted and certainly not even the last place I would visit for a meal, I'd rather be hungry. The staff were okayish and the moment I went there and had the first bite of meal, I thought of rating this restaurant as bad for others to be aware and even be prepared if at all they wish to visit here. I wouldn't visit this place again but if I did, I would really expect them to have more meals options and a better atmosphere.

I should have seen the warning signs and ran! Smell of bleach, cleaning gloves under the arm of the woman giving drinks and being hounded for our money and drinks order before we’d even unzipped our coats and sat down. Truly horrendous customer service - hounded at the start for money and then left alone. Some customers guided to a seat next to us and they decided they didn’t want to commit so left. The server then complained to us about the fact that those customers left. Seriously? I’m here to (try to) enjoy a meal, not comfort your work woes. We ordered our drinks and had to pay up straight away before being given our plates for the attempt at a buffet they were serving. Roughly 12 different options to try. ‘We reserve the right to charge for food wastage.’ What a way to get extra money from all the customers who couldn’t clear their plate as it all tasted the same - rubbish! No receipt given for purchase, no card payment, no service with a smile. We should have left at the start like the others did … will not return!

Awful customer service. Arrived at 1pm for lunch and were promptly seated. I popped out to get cash to pay for the meal as they do not take card. When I returned a rude member of staff came over and asked brusquely if we were finished. We explained we had just been sat down. She then asked us to move to another, worse seating area for no reason. When we asked why she ignored the question and told us to move again. We then promptly left. When I told her I wasn’t happy with her customer service she reacted angrily. We will not be coming again, and I would urge anyone else to not go. Very unfriendly restaurant and awful service.

The amount of negative reviews on this place sort of baffles me. Most refer to unfriendly service staff - but when me and my family came here they were just being efficient - fast talkers and fast seaters for a hectic buffet in Chinatown central - don't come here for a fancy restaurant experience and you'll be happy! The food for us was honestly great! Only £13.50 for the all-you-can-eat buffet and the meat was all good, perfect for a pit stop on a walkabout 👍

Very rude staff. One member of staff sat as at an awkward table in a tight squeeze sharing with someone else. My partner went to get cash as the place is cash only. While he was gone, a table next to us with more space was now free so I asked if I could move. The staff member who sat us initially said fine. When my partner came back and was getting ready to go get his food, another staff member came shouting, asking if we were finished. We said no, we’re literally just about to get food. She looked so irritated at us and asked us to come with her, she didn’t say what for. I thought she meant to go and get food. So I said I’ll stay with the table while my partner go gets his food. She was so impatient then I understood she wanted us to move to an even worse and awkward, uncomfortable table so she could sit a larger party on our table. She could have just asked and explained nicely. Even then, I was already seated there?? Anyway, NEVER going back there again and will tell anyone who asks to not go there either. Food is okay at best and there are better value places nearby.

The Food is average, lots of msg, sugary and salty. The servers are hard to understand and it seems not friendly. You need to pay first and cash only. Did not give us extra plates, put our left overs in the plastic bowls.

I walked about Chinatown for a while, became hungry and was recommended to try this place for takeaway. The takeaway option stated £6.99 set price in window (although a penny difference) they were charging £7 exactly to customers (Why not just post on sign £7? ) lol - only accept cash so had to go all the way to Piccadilly Station for cash point as HSBC nearby was empty. I walked away to enjoy my takeaway as I was famished but had to throw it away as there were a couple of strands of short hair. I walked a fair bit away and it was so busy in street to go back to complain. Suggest hair nets for staff and (if not already) better hygiene practices. Not recommending dishes as per review.

Visited the bakery on Sunday 11 Sept. Bought some pastries and a couple of honey roasted bun (char siu bun) and it turned out to be empty without filling. Saw another post with similar comment. I just don’t understand how could the baker missed the main ingredient if this is a daily repetitive job they do! They wouldn’t answer call and the management/ owner please get in touch for refund.

Plenty of choice in China Town BUT this is our go to place Staff friendly and attentive. The food tasty, fresh and hot not greasy and soggy. They did not charge for my 12 year old son as was not eating they even gave him 2 fortune cookies. They don't screw you with the drinks prices either all round a good experience as always. 😁👍

Kowloon has disappointed me a little on my last visit. We got take out boxes, which later we found out to be more than just a couple of doors up. The food is good if you have kids who don’t want dim sum or anything that is more traditional Chinese food, this is very much UK Chinese food. Staff were a little blunt but the food was tasty for what we got. Would not rush back but would go again if I needed a quick filling meal.

Only tried the chicken and pork pau from Kowloon restaurant and it was very affordable but I wished they put more meat inside the pau.The meat portion was very small and I was hoping to have boiled egg but there was none unfortunately. But overall I will be back whenever I’m craving for pau.

Customer service - terrible. Food - tasteless, over fried and found a long hair in the sweet and sour 🤮 Staff - rude, abrupt and overall not friendly. You walk in they throw abit of plastic on the table to choose your drinks then you have to pay cash for your meal before you go up. Didn’t eat a lot tbh, was put off by the whole experience. Just avoid it ladies and gents!!

If I could rate this restaurant 1* I would, but my friend said maybe it was too hursh, and I was feeling off of my emotions, so out of respect to him, I gave it 2*... begrudgingly. This restaurant had very very limited options, and had hardly any options for vegetarian(no vegan options). The main issue was everything felt so micromanage, they only accepted cash, and they was all about money straight away before you was given a plate. you had only one plate whoch they gave you. They had extremely limited food in general, and no chilli oil. They literally had ONE rice, ONE chow main, and all some other bits an bobs. They also would charge you for food wastage which is insane to me, the whole atmosphere just felt strict parenting feeding their children, everyone must speak low, while the adults was talking amongst themselves. DON'T waste your money on poor quality food, and minimum options. Such a waste of money, definitely wasn't worth £15 per head. The only decent thing was that they were 4* hygiene rating.

The worst eat all you can restaurant I’ve ever been. Even a 5 year old was being charged same as adult: we were 14 adults plus the child who is my niece. The way the Curley women with short hair spoke to us was rude. No customer care at all. When I approached the other lady to ask how much is the payment, she said half price the. The other curly lady came and said they have to pay the same but the other lady did not agree and they were arguing I. Front of us. At the end the kind lady won and we were given half the price for child. My eldest daughter could not stand the attitude of the two ladies so she left the restaurrant and just eat in a Thai restaurant. The food was full of oil and salty. The worst they only accept cash? Why cash? Are they trying to avoid the tax? Hope the local government of London have a look on this kind of business. Will not go back there again. Never again!
