Stood in doorway for couple of minutes being ignored by staff who kept looking over. Couple of customers eating and approx eight others behind us in queue, as it was 16.55ish. I called out to staff, "are you open?" to which the curt reply was NO. Told them to close door and put closed sign up. Went to other venue in Blackheath and had lovely meal and friendly service

I had one of the worst experiences in my life here. I was treated by staff as if I was vermin, the staff treated my friend and I differently due to how we were dressed and our age. I brought a coupon with me, in the small print it said that it was strictly for use in the Blackheath branch, however, when I presented the coupon to the waitress she scolded me for bringing the coupon into her restaurant. The saving grace of this awful establishment was the lovely Brummie boy, he made our meals somewhat enjoyable. For anyone that enjoys eating authentic Italian pizza, I strongly suggest you get on the next plane to Naples, as this is something that you can’t find in London.

Really nice service from the manager here. They were light on staff so it took a while to take orders but he was really pleasant during all interactions and the food was great.

Ate here with my son to celebrate his end of year university results, as we had some money-off vouchers. The food was good and the service was fantastic. Zsigmond (our waiter) and Giovanna (who I think was the duty manager) were attentive and friendly. The staff alone made it worth a five-star review.

Food was really nice, good ambiance and all with a great quality of service. Alexandra took care of my table today and made my dish even more enjoyable with a big smile and courtesy!!! No photos as food is gone :-)

It's a regular Pizza Express and staff accommodating following an initial problem with the reservation (they were looking at the wrong date). The unforgivable bit is the ladies toilets not working and having to use the gents. They have been out of order for a while and could do with a good clean, not great when you have a 15 month old in tow and need baby changing facilities - the ladies have been out of order for a while and a sign asking Ken not to use the urinals whilst a shared facility- not a good look

We had a pizza party at Pizza Express Blackheath this weekend. And it was brilliant! 10 very happy little boys and girls - April did a great job guiding them through making their own pizzas and keeping them entertained:))) pizzas themselves were delicious and the service was fab too - nothing was too much trouble! Thank you so much guys.

It’s been a decade or so since we last eat at a Pizza Express and not much has improved other than the size of the pizza. The staff need to pay more attention to their guests and less on just chatting. The pizzas where faultless, light, plenty of toppings and hot. On the other hand the starters were nothing to rave about, tasteless and frankly a waste of money. If you just want a good pizza, then it’a hit.

My daughters and I dine there regularly and we always have a lovely time. The menu is familiar and tasty, the crayons and activity menu for the children keep them occupied and entertained while the service is always very friendly. All the waiting staff that we have encountered have been excellent with the kids. We are regularly served by Alexandra who always welcomes us with a warm smile.

Quite a good option if you’re hungry and want a quick bite for a reasonable price ( in comparison to everything around it) The thin pizza was quite nice and the filling although it doesn’t look like much was actually quite enough! The place could get crowded and the waiters rush all over the place to help everyone so just be patient..

Walked in unbooked around 17:30 on a Thursday and was fed, cidered and on my way in no time. Excellent pizza and friendly efficient staff. Recommended.

We celebrated our daughters 16th birthday. The food was good and the atmosphere was pleasant. Ivy our host was brilliant and really attentative. The manager was friendly and welcoming. We highly recommend!

We had the most brilliant experience at Pizza Express Blackheath this evening, served without booking, on a Friday night by the lovely and attentive Kevin (aka Arthur). The manager was also absolutely lovely. They were incredibly accommodating, especially to my partner, who has coeliacs disease! I felt compelled to leave this review as we were sat next to two very grumpy men, who were happily charging their phone on the Pizza express plugs, complaining about their food costing too much for "what it was" whilst also asking to take it away for later... something didn't smell right. But the food certainly smelt wonderful. We love Kevin!

Absolutely Amazing experience today with our reception class. Woodhill School had a fabulous pizza making experience. The staff were so accommodating and kind. The ethos of the day was to "have fun" and our reception children and parents certainly did just that!! The whole staff are a credit to pizza express. Thank you so much for our fun School trip 🍕

Brilliant for families with young kids. The kids menu is a firm favourite for our little ones and the staff as so accommodating. Zsiga was super helpful during our last visit getting the kids food ready asap and giving me a hand with coats and scooters when it was time to leave! Thank you!

I ate here yesterday for lunch .. and let me just tell you. I am obsessed. I come here every single time im hungry (i rarely go to another restaurant because of how good the food is in blackheath pizza express). I gave compliments to the chef (Thomas) whose hands are a work of art ,and the manager (vicky) who welcomed me with such warmth. As well as Ivona the waitress who was also so kind and actually conversed with me with patience rather. I just love love love this place ever so much and will continue to make an appearance! Thank you again!! My go to order is always: pollo forza or the buddha salad bowl (however anything that is cooked by the chef is amazing)

This was our first time in the restaurant and we had a lovely experience. Very tasty food and excellent service from Viki. She made our experience even better. Definitely we coming back.

Amazing Pizza’s and service by the waiting staff. The tall blond waitress was fantastic and got us a table in the shade. Sadly she was humiliated in front of us by one of the junior managers, because the table was only meant to be used for deliveries. Fair enough at busy times and in the evenings, but not quiet times. Apart from this hiccup, 10 out of 10. Thank you!

Super friendly staff! We had a nice little table outside in the evening. Shame the restaurant had run out of a lot of items but it was due to a marathon the day before. The waitresses did seem to forget about you after you’d eaten. I saw it happen to a few other tables they took a long time to clear tables and bring bills when asked. Would go again but you can’t really go wrong with pizza express

Halloumi bites weren't as expected but were tasty. Pizza was great tho 🤤. The Hungarian waiter ( sorry , can't remember his name ) really knows how to sell his stuff and totaly made our day with his jokes. Thanks 😁😍

Really pleased to have a vegan pizza menu at Pizza Express now but the cheese is a little too runny I think. It's a mozzarella style cheese but yes does feel a little too watery. Vegan cheese has evolved so I'm sure there's more options out there to even attempt a vegan quattro formaggi please :) (We added extra mushroom to the margarita pizza)

Superb. Thank you to our waitress who was rushed off her feet since the rail strikes meant they were understaffed. I had a new drink (garden G&T) a new pizza (spicy prawn) and a new dessert (millionaire sundae). They were all delicious. Kids very well looked after with their own menus and crayons. Will definitely return.

Delivered after 2 hours the worse pizza I had not that it was cold but horrible base splashed with tomatoe and small amount of cheese not worth £17. Half of it ended in the bin. What a waist I rather have Bread and cheese next time never order again.

I’ve had very good experiences at other Pizza Express establishments. This was my first visit and was very disappointed with the quality of the pizza. There was far too much tomato base which was sub standard and did not enhance the flavour of the Veneziano.

Selected pizza was very bad combination on very thin and poor dough.

Went here about a month ago expecting a standard pizza affair and left pleasantly surprised having received excellent service from the delightful Zsiga. He deserves a raise!

Food was great as usual. The service was excellent, especially considering we were a party of 12 with some members having invisible additional needs and allergies etc. The server just 'got us'. He was intuitive to our needs.

Went on a Monday evening and it was very quiet but very nice. The food was very good and the server was friendly. I recommend trying a romana pizza, in particular the margarita pizza, as well as the dough balls, however everything in here is delicious and the drinks are good.

Unfortunately the service was super slow and we got the starter and main together with cold arancini. Although they did not charge us for the arancini but the very long wait was not acceptable. The lady who served us was very pleasant, but overall, not going there again.

Had the loveliest birthday lunch here today with my friends. Martha our waitress was so kind and gave us perfect service! Loved it!

Excellent food, freshly done. Very accommodating for slight changes to the menu, and wonderful service. Erwin was always attentive and present upon my first visit: I have been there for 3 times across the last two weeks. Highly recommended
