This St. John’s Church is located in the centre of Hampstead Heath, on Downshire Hill, very close to the Hampstead Heath Park itself and is a beautiful Anglican local church. It’s a relatively new church of only 200 years old and dates back to year 1823. The church is Grade I listed building. This beautiful small church is special to this place and makes this part of Hampstead Heath stand out in its Christian glory ✝️ ♥️.

A beautiful Georgian church, with balconies. Original panelled wooden seating, with high backs and fronts, and numbered doors has all been saved and moved to the sides of the church. Moveable seating has replaced this in the centre. Racks beneath the chairs for Bibles etc.

This is the most friendly accommodating Church I have ever attended. We have met some wonderful people. The teaching is great and everyone is truly welcome.

The church has a lovely supportive community and have great Sunday clubs for kids all the way up to year 9! The holiday camps are also great and are an opportunity to get you kids looked after while knowing they're having a wonderful time learning about the Bible. If you have never been to the church you will surely be welcomed as the church has such a supportive, kind community.

Yet another anglican church revamped with lightweight hillsong type choruses targetting the young and upwardly mobile. Nice architecture but of little relevance if you are an older person who has been damaged by life's severest storms. You won't fit in with them and they won't fit in with you. Theirs is a gospel for the young and wealthy. If you are broke, older or homeless don't expect much sympathy here. Not recommended.

Grade l Listed, only remaining proprietary chapel in London. An unassuming, confident and comfortable presence on corner. Best approached walking along Downshire Hill towards Hampstead Heath.

Only go for the monthly Japanese service, very friendly, lovely people.

One of the most welcoming churches around Hampstead, with community programs and children/youth activities alongside Sunday morning & evening worship services. If you are looking for a solid Bible teaching church, you won't go wrong with St John's Downshire Hill.
